for those of you just finding this, or TTB, I encourage to get to understand just how deeply stacked they are in talent.Yes, Derek may be the best slide player in history, and yes, Susan is the soulful, booming voice that comes along once in a generation- with some wicked licks of her own. But please believe me when I tell you- EVERY person in that band is amazing. As an example, just listen to perhaps the least out-front person in the band: backup vocal singer Alecia Chakour- she is AMAZING in her own right. I encourage you to youtube/google her and see her own performances. From all evidence she is a beautiful soul, and an amazing artist. I say this to illustrate the fact that this is an ALL STAR band. Everyone, from Tyler & JJ, to Kebbi, Liz, and Ephraim, Mike and Mark, Kofi (RIP), and TIm, Oteil, and Brandon- and the list goes on, they are all amazing musicians in their own right. To have them in a band led by Derek and Susan is beyond a ridiculous amount of talent on one stage. When you see them live, and the hairs on the back of your neck stand up, you have a silly grin on your face, and tears of joy in your eyes, you will understand: honest, true, heartfelt music has no substitute.
Man in the last 50 years this is the all-star band of All the large all-star bands. Maybe Bangladesh or mad dogs and Englishmen come close, certain incarnations of Delaney and Bonnie. Those guys were stacked at every position as well.
All of that I can agree with. I love Derek and no doubt the hottest slide player living but if it wasn't for Duane there would not be Derek. No one can take the best that ever lived title from Duane Allman.
Except the sax player. WTH?! and Why!? They need to get rid of him. He brings them down to me. Seen them live. He is not near their level and sounds like crap on his solos. We all looked at each other like what the hell. He was off key and rhythm the whole time.
Saw them two days ago in the Netherlands, Best band in the world right now,.Period. They blow your mind, lift your heart, bring tears to your eyes, and move your ass. This is what rock ‘n soul is meant to be.
ONE of the several best bands in the world right now! There are several bands crushing it live the past few years. But TTB is absolutely amongst the top of the pile!
Glad everyone enjoyed the band - gotta respect what they do and not bowing to commercial pressure to write some one-off garbage tune just to sell a million singles.
Saw Derek when he was 13 at a music establishment in Miami Beach and I could hardly comprehend the fact that this kid at that age was playing blues at a professional level, and with such feeling. He has just gotten better and better as time passed by. Thanks, Pat for posting this. The Derek Trucks Band and now Tedeshi Trucks. It just keeps getting better.
An amazing band and an amazing couple of people. Susan's voice and guitar have been shelter from the storm for so long, and Derek is just a sweet arranger and such an outstanding guitar player. That guitar in "Lord Protect My Child" is a cry for our souls. They could do this with three other musicians, so choosing to run around with a ten-piece ensemble is also courageous and proves how much they care for the people out here, listening. Blues as it's gotta be.
A unique band, truly one of a kind! In many ways they're the missing link between some legendary 60s/70s acts, like Derek and the Dominos, Allman Brothers Band, Janis Joplin, The Band and perhaps Nina Simone or Dionne Warwick - but they are a 21st century act, in their prime today, and they have a powerful identity of their own far beyond their influences. Someone commented on another clip that "I've been waiting for this band for forty years" and I know what he meant, this is the kind of band that happens just once in a generation.
The Greatest Band Yesterday, Today and Always! Y'all have Great Legions of Southern Music Smiling and Looking Down from Above in HEAVEN. THE ROAD WILL GO ON FOREVER 🙂 LOVE TO ALL ALWAYS!!! RIP DWAIN AND GREGG ALLMAN!
Susans singing is simply the best blues vocals around these days. The musicianship in this band is phenomenal. IMO I haven’t seen a band this well stacked with talent since Derek and the Dominoes. Its exciting to think that they still haven’t had their breakout moment where and when they hopefully get the respect and appreciation they deserve.
They will never get proper respect from "Mainstream" music minds. No pyro, no auto-tune or dancers. They just play and sing! In our pablum-minded music consciousness today, how boring! God, I love this band. Good music still lives!
They have had my respect since I first saw Derrick and Susan together @ Crossroads in Chicago 2010.. I Try not to miss them when they come through each year, fantastic musicians and that's all I need..
I’ve seen this band 6 times in the last 4 years. Always by far the best show I see every year. I love to watch Derek orchestrate his band every so subtly.✌️
The first time I listen to Susan was back in the 90 and been in love with her style for the longest and when she married trucks it completed the best style of music in a long time. God bless them.
Marcus King faithfully preserves the power of the mighty guitar solo so well into this next generation . With the loss of so many old heroes , he is a young blood with a hybrid talent that is mind blowing . So glad to see them share a stage !
Thank you Pat ,it is very generous of you to share this video with other fans .I too love this band ,for their musicianship, their demonstrated respect for each other and giving everyone an opportunity to shine throughout the evening .They are such a tight ensemble of talented musicians .

Derek & Susan surely know how to keep great music alive and they are the very few to do that this is one show I like to attend and they can do anything from soul, blues & rock & roll.
Great great show. Happy I was there to catch both nights. I sincerely hope that these guys keep doing what they're doing for many years to come. It's as if they distill pure joy from thin air.
Thank you so much for this. Ive never seen them live and this recording puts me dead centre and watching the whole band. You can choose who you watch and see all the action. Just like being there. Oh and the music is pretty good too. Love it.
Wow goose pimples right off the bat. One of my favorite bands and man at Red Rocks I bet that was awesome to be there live. Thanks Pat for the recording so I can see it!! Preciate ya
I saw these guys at Bluesfest, Byron Bay Australia at Easter 2016 and this concert shows that they just get better and better.Top shelf. I've been to Red Rocks and would have loved to have seen them there. Great video.
my favorite band has always been the original Allman Bros. This blend of genres has shown me that great music can still be made and created. I told my wife this is the Johnny Cash/June Carter of our time. I think they everything I love, guitars, vocals, horns, rhythm section, etc. I did not see this coming. With the record companies being owned by big corporations and we get little or no new music to sooth our souls. I hope we, the people , will promote and buy cd's to help our artists perform and create. I love this band!!!

Experienced both Saturday and sundays concert at red rocks. Saturday was hands down, to this day the best concert I have attended. Musically I was blown away by the raw talent shining from every square inch of the stage. The vibe of the crowd was transcending, which allowed the band to loosen the reins on which trucks directs and they did not disappoint. From laughter to borderline tears I freely expressed pure emotion during Saturday nights concert and I will retain that memory as long as my Indus allows. Thank you to the band and the great people Colorado..
Red Rocks is a “marvelous” venue...so much wonderful history here...so many greats have performed here...Willy Nelson’s favorite...’The Good Earth provided this amazing outdoor stage’...Especially nice on a summer evening with the full moon rising...💙
Thanks, Pat! Can't get enough! TTB is so good! Love Matt and the keyboard flautist guy. After Joe Bonamassa/Beth Hart, these are the best out there right now. Matt wrote Midnight in Harlem. Best blues song this century!
Midnight in Harlem was written by Mike Mattison, one of the back up singers who has a lead singing stint later in the concert. On the flute and keyboards is Kofi Burbidge.
Last gig I saw live was Tedeschi Trucks at Wembley arena, London, Feb 2020. The band were on fire. Was hoping to catch them at Red Rocks this summer, but who knows what's happening at the moment. Miss my live music, but this is the next best thing. I'll just have to imagine we're sitting out there watching the sun go down behind the fourteeners, then heading back to Denver for late night rooftop drinks at 5430. Slàinte Mhaith.
Saw them here in Detroit a few weeks before this show. They killed it - AMAZING show. But I wish they would have played some of these songs in that show. Thanks for posting!
This is some of the best RR aud sound I've heard- no way to get around the wind blowing the sound from side to side but this is solid- bass and all- and great vid too- thanks man!
Totally mesmerized by them. Great music that sticks with. me and calls me back again and again. Technically speaking, hats off to their sound engineers. The sound is full and rich, clean, strong vocals and well balanced. No matter where you focus you can enjoy. Sure hope to see them live one day.
Great video and sound Pat. Thanks! It was a great concert, and now I can relive it!! Saw this tour at Wolftrap in mid July and Warner theater that previous February! They are our absolute favorite band hands down and we have seen many in our life time!❤️
Recently came across this band on You Tube, really enjoyed watching some of Susan Tedeschi's earlier work. Her guitar talents were allowed to shine, now it is mainly Derek with the slide. Too bad, as Susan is such a great player as well. Thanks again for sharing. Cheers!
I love this band. No stars, but they’re all stars and every one of them gets to shine with every show. I have to say Mike Mattison is one of the best singers to belt out the blues these days! Fantastic show.
I mean, the band is named after their two stars. The rest of the band is absurdly good, if we’re talking musical talent they’re all stars. Trucks is on a short list of the greatest ever... no stars?!
No stars? Surely you jest. Susan and Derek are stars and the band is smoking hot. No other band in the world has a Derek. Check out the Derek Trucks Band too. The man can play any style you’d like at an insanely high level.
So, for those of you who commented on my post, perhaps reading comprehension is not your strongest quality. I have seen TTB live on eight occasions since 2015. I wrote that there are “no stars, but they’re all stars and every one of them gets to shine............” Wow, it’s not that complicated. We all know Derek and Susan are the ones most fans give their attention to. The point of my comment was that “the band” is kind of a democracy and nobody, including Derek and Susan, is trying to outdo anyone else in the band. TTB is a group that leaves their egos at home. Thanks for trying to be so smart and tell me what you think I don’t know. FFS.
Craig Schwarz My reading comprehension is fine. Your premise of “no stars” but “all” stars is flawed. Derek and Susan are acknowledged stars. Btw, attended 25 of their concerts and all are different.
I’ve been blessed to have attended likely over 💯 concerts @ Red Rocks through the decades. It is a spiritual place to many, many attendees and artists for Red Rocks has its own unique magic. A friendly suggestion is to act on the chance to go if you can. If you’ve not yet experienced an event there, put it in your “bucket list” as a musical experience. I’ve even had a picnic there on non event days. Go absorb the essence if you can. It’s a gift from heaven to you. 🌞✅❤️😎🌹⚡️🎉🌈✌️🎊
A POWERHOUSE OF A GROUP THAT MAKES THE RAFTERS SHAKE!!! I'VE BEEN AROUND FOR A FEW YEARS AND HAVE HEARD AND SEEN SOME OF THE GREATEST BANDS IN THE BUSINESS AND HAVE THESE GUYS ON MY BUCKET LIST TO HIT ONE OF THEIR CONCERTS.... Till then, youtube will have to do.... THIS is what rock & roll was meant to be...
This is one hellova concert. Midnight In Harlem was so beautiful. Glory Bound, Lord Proect My Child, this whole concert is music. Real good music. Not so many of these great blues bands around that play this nice, their own songs, or the old songs we know, etc, so good, so tight. And the voices lead until the guitars take it. Or sax or horn or keyboards. 😎🌿 Just can't help but get up and move along with it all... Thnx TTB... You are my Temptation. Turn On Your Love Light. 💚
just at the end of the exceptional show, lamenting that I missed them down the street from my house this week....again....and then noticed it's another generous offering from Mr. Myers. I just got an official hard copy (they still make CD's!) of 'Electric on the Eel' last week and was celebrating that I got a copy from you a month after the 91 run and how lucky I've been to be the beneficiary of your recording prowess for almost 30 years! Keep it the great work brother.
The simplicity of loving and enjoying to play music within the more complex structure of ticket sales, airplane schedules, eating right, and touring budgets! May the twain never meet and if they do, may art win out!
Amazing concert. Just saw them 1'week prior in charlotte! Best concert ive ever been to. And the small venues they play are wayyy better than the money bags coliseums most musicians of this caliber prefer.
Just bought tickets to see them the day after my 61st B-day in B'ham AL 2019 at the Alabama theatre on the Floor Orchestra section ROW B Seats 101 & 102 . can't wait !!! I am in awe of this band I love Susan & Derek !!! Still rocking but not in a chair !!!70's child !!! Peace !!!

Having three incredible backup singers, one being the extremely talented Mike Mattison, doesn't hurt.
@tattoorichie100~~~She reminds me of Bonnie Bramlett; super soulful.

Josh Daniels I couldn’t agree more! They truly define the term rhythm and blues unlike the trash thats mass marketed today.
If all goes right I will see them this October. Very happy about that.
Hi from Switzerland and thanks for sharing Pat! I really really enjoyed it! Going to see them in April in Zurich.
four years after bonnaroo concert, they are still the best group in the USA !!!thanks Susan and Derek,i love you, from France Nantes
Derek is, without a doubt, one of the greatest guitarists ever, but Susan brought tears to my eyes. Damn, that girl is overflowing with soul!
And she's an excellent lead player herself, e.g. Statesboro Blues.
Thank you Susan. This is BEAUTIFUL.
Thanks for sharing this! I was there for both nights and both shows were amazing! Keep on rockin' in the free world, ya'll .

saw them @ Wembley last night, totally blown away , awesome show......
Just fabulous. I can hardly wait to see them live for the first time this coming July!
Thanks, Pat! Can't get enough! TTB is so good! Love Matt and the keyboard flautist guy. After Joe Bonamassa/Beth Hart, these are the best out there right now. Matt wrote Midnight in Harlem. Best blues song this century!

Hard to imagine anyone doing it better than these guys. Truly great stuff. One of the best live bands on the planet.
Allman Brothers
Only Paul Rogers from free could sing in that manner...simply great and what makes this band even greater is MODESTY.
Saw them here in Detroit a few weeks before this show. They killed it - AMAZING show. But I wish they would have played some of these songs in that show. Thanks for posting!

Pat-thanks, brother...this is outstanding.
Great tour.
This band and Marcus King Band have been lifting my spirits lately.
Me too! I love both these bands. Midnight in Harlem takes me away to another place.

Recently came across this band on You Tube, really enjoyed watching some of Susan Tedeschi's earlier work. Her guitar talents were allowed to shine, now it is mainly Derek with the slide. Too bad, as Susan is such a great player as well. Thanks again for sharing. Cheers!
Triketacular Well if I was playing with DT I'D GET OUT OF HIS WAY!
Susan gets her time. This weekend she didn't as much. If you can find How Blue Can You Get video from last year's Red Rocks (7-29-17) it's a treat.
I love this band. No stars, but they’re all stars and every one of them gets to shine with every show. I have to say Mike Mattison is one of the best singers to belt out the blues these days! Fantastic show.
No stars? I beg to differ. Regardless they are incredible! Nice video.
Visiting from DC at this show... bucket list complete!
Nicely done! I wish official DVD's were filmed like this rather then all the crazy 2 second cuts the directors love.
Thanks for this , excellent quality
I was 3rd row center for that show. It was a miracle it didn't rain on them, but it did start up as we were driving out!
Tedeschi trucks band is BOUND FOR GLORY!! #RedheadDeadhead
Red Rocks has to be THE premier outdoor venue. Millions of years in the making.
Thank you for shooting and sharing.
Thank you very much for your wonderful music!
Sounds great, Pat. Thanks for posting.
You are the best for sharing this!! Great view as well!
An amazing show, thanks for sharing!
Wow man this is incredible! Thanks!
I'm sooo in love with Tedeschi trucks band especially JJ the drummer....see you tonight at the Mann Music Center in Philadelphia #RedheadDeadhead
Does it get any better than Marcus, Derek and the band playing In Memory of Elizabeth Reed.
Very cool. Thank you Sir Ben.
Lovn from Detroit to all who came out; & OF COURSE....THE BAND
Turn On Your Lovelight-- what a surprising treat! Their version would make Jerry and the boys proud
Thank you Pat, Just saw TTB in St. Louis, No Midnight in Harlem, So this makes up for it.
I've loved Susan a long time. She & Derek are a match made in heaven for our ears.
Why anyone would come to this channel just to give a thumbs down, I'll never figure out.
what was that that bunch on the bus said " aint got time to hate " ?! Iko
I'm crying right now! Thank you Derek!!
Thank you for posting this … Great Band
The crescendo in Midnight in Harlem followed by the pianissimo part is quite sublime.
Just the fact that Derek turns AWAY from the crowd when soloing speaks to his humility. What an inspiration!!
Nothing wrong with good showmanship though. More entertainment isn’t a bad thing lol.
I agree
So beautiful, this old man can go out with a smile...
35:15 with Susan fixing Derek's hair... AMAZING. Hahaha. Such an amazing tour in-person and on TH-cam! So glad to hear "Down in the Flood" too.
Such a great band! Thanks for keeping the Allman Brothers alive.
Thank you so much!!!!!
Saw this fantastic group of musicians last night in chicago my god were they more than excellent
Peace !!!
