You are welcome. Plenty of degrees available online nowadays and alot of teachers do them whilst they working in Cambodia and Vietnam. Then, once you have a bachelors, tefl, plus two years of verifiable work experience you can get jobs in China and South Korea that pay high salaries. You look pretty young, good luck with everything.

Hello. Can the bachelor's degree be in any subject. Bachelor of aircraft engineering?
This would be great info as I work in this industry and it would be easier for me to the degree in this field

Yes, it can be in any field- but it must be a 4 year degree from a western institution. Remember, it takes a fair level of academic proficiency to complete any degree. Tefl teachers typically work overseas for less than three years, then go back to their home country to develop their original career pathway. It very uncommon for foreign teachers to specifically study teaching English as a foreign language at university first. You're talking like maybe 5% or less who do that. That's why the extension courses exist for teaching English as a foreign language. These are named CELTA, TEFL and TESOL. I would recommend researching them if you've never taught a class.

      @@danielbowater1585 that's nice to know.
This might be a bit tricky to explain, the degrees I've seen are 3 years or so for aviation.
I could possibly jump into third year with my work experience and qualifications.
Question, would this be ok and acceptable if i did this, the last year of the degree and walk out with the bachelor's.
Or would I actually have to do the full 4 years even though I've got the qualifications to get fasttracked.
I love Thailand, but I would never go out with just a TEFL and not being able t o save at the same time. I'm 33 now so to do 4 years for a degree instead of one or two would be a kick in the teeth.

@@brendanaustinenterprise that’s a very specific question and I’m not going to pretend to know the answer. BUT I would be cautious if you don’t have a copy of a full academic transcript as this document can be called on for verification (mine was needed). Most Schools in Asia prefer four year degrees but it’s certainly possible to get accepted with a three year degree. That will depend a lot on the local government administration. The rules are constantly flaunted but I think you’ll agree that transparency and honesty is the best pathway.

      Totally agree.
I would love to live and work in Thailand but obviously the problem being limited jobs we can do . I am also a joiner to trade but understand construction is kept for the nationals which again I fully understand.
I suppose it's a long shot but,can I ask yourself what ideas there might be beside teaching.
I'm 33,single with no ties in that respect.
Any jobs industrys you may know that I don't regarding work in Thailand.
Your replies have saved me a lot of work thankyou

@@brendanaustinenterprise you're most welcome. As for other areas of employment, these are very scarce. Some other youtubers like 'Brett Dev' have covered this topic in good detail. In 2019 most expats were doing things like dropshipping, computer programming, online marketing/advertising or vlogging. These are essentially western specialty occupations that aren't location dependent since they're done entirely online. In the last 2 years, TH-cam creation exploded while global travel was restricted. However, it's pretty well known that the TH-cam space is oversaturated now.

Hello. I hope you can help me. I do not have a degree in Education but I did have an experience teaching conversational english and passed TOEIC in the Philippines. Based from your experience, can I have an opportunity to teach in Thailand? Thank you

    • @danielbowater1585
      @danielbowater1585  2 ปีที่แล้ว

I'm assuming you're from the Philippines (i.e. Philippino passport). If so, you might need to do a toeic test in Thailand in order to work there. Do you have a bachelors degree in another field? These factors will play a big part in gaining employment. Take a look at the TH-cam page 'Stephanie Val'. She successfully handled some similar challenges.
