I am overjoyed to discover all these WW II American Vets available from every branch and theater gathered and celebrated so warmly. Almost ANY Americans coast-to-coast love these guys like family favorites - since VE- and VJ-Day. But my happiest surprise was to learn of Gary Sinise's marvelous Foundation and work that created these priceless good times for all Americans who know what America and the world went through, so magnificently, together. I am sure no actor has enjoyed their foundations more than this American iconic hero actor is doing this work, on days like this, when Americans are giddy and star-struck with the rare honor of being in the living presence of the best of the greatest generation - who still showed it after all these years. May the Fourth Be With You and Us, Still.
Oh how this makes me miss my dad!!! He served in the Pacific Theatre 167th Infantry 31st Dixie Division I took him on an Honor Flight in 2010. My dad passed at age 90 and he talked to me about his WWII story. I plan on visiting this museum!!!!!!!! A USAF Veteran 🇺🇸 Maryann This was beyond touching...crying
My grandpa served in the European theater in the Army. From what everyone has told me he was the best man ever... immensely calm and loving, but strong. He sadly passed when I was about 5 and from what I can remember about him I was practically attached to him at the hip, and him to I. I miss him so much and wish he could have lived to teach me more in life.
@@maryannamerica6934 Certainly is. Every time I think I have it difficult I just try to imagine the kind of shit he went through in the war and suddenly it doesn't seem so bad lol.
@@maryannamerica6934 BTW I just noticed you said you were in the Air Force... My great uncle served in the USAF for 25 years. I remember hearing he was sent to Vietnam a few times for duty, but mostly served in Germany before/after.
You have enriched and changed a lot of lives, Lt. Dan. Thank you for all you do to make sure that the men of The Greatest Generation are never forgotten and that our youngest generation knows what these men and women had to go through so that, today, they have FREEDOM. I tear up every time I watch one of these videos. I salute you all. Well done!!!
What an incredible video of our heroes and the students from the Grapevine Christian School. Thank you Gary Sinise and American Airlines for making this wonderful event happen and for sharing the event!!! Brought tears to my eyes!
Truly a blessing to watch. I had family members that served in WWII, Korean War, and the Vietnam War. So glad that we could educate our youth of the true history of the events that took place. God bless you.
Wow. It's so beautiful to watch. We need this in the UK. Thank you Gary for doing this. We are so blessed to have these amazing men and women who gave so much. We now need to cherish and we need to make sure we look after all service people and their families.
UK DOES need a WW 2 museum too. Such storehouses, gathered from vets' families with nowhere to store the hand-picked, best-of-all-relics and government sources of all types in the same predicament provide touchstones to the generations of, as much as, innocently, but completely unconscious of it all; as peerlessly telling and incalculably precious as an occasional, miniscule time capsule could ONLY provide before such a great museum. There may be no greater memory to preserve in all human history than the British in their finest hour - and people know and need to know that well, still.
Thanks to all who made this a wonderful and exciting trip for my father and all of the other WWII combat veterans. It is something I will never forget. If you have not been to the WWII museum in New Orleans, I would highly recommend a visit, as it is one of the best museums around.
I love watching these videos of the Soaring Valor program trips to New Orleans and the WW II museum. These veterans deserve all the honor we can show to them. They did so much for all of us, and to let them share their memories with the young students should be one of the students’ best life memories. Thank you , Gary Sinise for all you do for our veterans and their families.✌️
I went to this Museum when younger and it feels real. It really shows you a different perspective over the war. It felt like you were there. There was a movie there called "Beyond all Boundries 4D" and it was scary. When the nuke dropped I didn't even know it was coming, and before I knew it there was a bright flash. When I mean bright it was blinding and as the light settled I just realised that it was already too late.
If I could give 100 thumbs up, I would!! 50 for the Vets and 50 for the students they just taught. It still strikes me that the Vets were about the same age as these students when they saved our world.
That depraved, culturally-defunct Taylor Swift video "Shake It Off" has nearly 3 BILLION views on youtube... this had 1,532 at the time of writing this. What the fuck does that say about us? A fucking disgrace! Pewdiepie has 100 MILLION subscribers, but this foundation has 11k? This is really making me want to never have children.
God bless Gary Sinise and what he does for our military veterans.
