Reminds me of "Cigarette Burns." A horror short about a guy trying to find an old lost film for a collector. The old black and white silent film ends up being a snuff film of an actual angel. The film was supposed to drive people mad or something like that. It's been a while.
“La Fin Absolue du Monde”. After Udo Kier’s character sees it, he feeds his own intestines into a reel of a film projector. And those are the two things I remember about that episode of Masters of Horror. I’d say it was one of my favorite episodes but it has also been eleventy years since I saw the series.
Olli Kleemola, a Finnish war photography expert and lecturer who published on the topic apparently said in an interview that although the photo is legit and undoctored, cannibalism did happen in the world wars, and the cannibalism story relating to this picture in particular is pretty old, this image and info surrounding it has a history of being used as propaganda. The skin is likely a moose skin.
Yeah I've seen the pic with the explanation being that it was the result of russian soldiers cannibalizing themselves and finnish soldiers finding the skin... good to know it might not be human skin but also i had a history teacher (i live in Finland btw) say that many people might have brutal war pictures like it hidden in their old photo albums...
@@SailorSpiral Oh yeah when I was quick researching the photo I kinda fell down a rabbit hole about illegal war photos, photos taken by soldiers during the world wars without being given clearance to do so. There's been a push to collect and publish such images before they become lost, because many show a more honest and personal depiction of the horrors of war than many "official" photographs.
I like creepypastas like this one that don't overstay their welcome, they just plant a disturbing idea on your mind and leave you to fill the gaps with your imagination
Yeah you nailed it. I really think that what killed the genre was lazy writers trying to make their s*** story scary by making it all blood, guts, knives, monsters and serial killers
Wow, thank you for actually covering this! I'm the one who messaged you about the case, and I'm really happy to see it getting some coverage. Let's hope for the best :D
It's a shame I didn't hear about this sooner, as soon as you said "Red Army killed God" I knew EXACTLY where the source was from! It was a trope reused multiple times on /x/ and I'm sure if we had complete archives of old 4chan there'd be dozens of references around the time.
It makes so much sense to me to think that this isn't really "one story" but rather a trope that got continually rehashed and repeated across many stories or other prose writing. That would certainly explain how this "genre" of stories became associated with the moose hide image over time. It does feel very 4chan, the gradual association between an evocative image and a repeated theme.
Holy crap, props to axamlo for actually finding that extremely obscure /x/ post and to you for finding axamlo's comment after apparently the entire subreddit ignored him 😂
Wow. For such a common joke "God is dead we killed him" I'm surprised stories involving it haven't been more popular. Love seeing vids like this, yet again a deeply interesting obscure piece of media. Thanks for another excellent vid!
I do remember reading this story. I was exclusively reading creepypastas from either the creepypasta website, or nosleep. I never went to 4chan. So either someone copied that 4chan comment verbatim and made it a post someplace else, or someone did try to make it into a longer story. I know for a fact I've read it before, but I could've sworn it was used as a sort of monologue at the end of the story. Basically what I remember is POV story of a Soviet soldier or scientist detailing how they detected something odd in Siberia, found out it was god, killed him, and then that monologue at the end.
Does any of this ring a bell? "The God-Maker" is a lesser-known creepypasta that tells the story of a secret Soviet Union project in the 1950s to create a weapon capable of killing God. The project is led by a brilliant but insane scientist named Dr. Kozlov, who becomes obsessed with the idea of destroying God after witnessing the horrors of World War II. Kozlov's experiments involve exposing subjects to a mysterious substance that alters their consciousness and allows them to perceive God's presence. The hope is that by doing so, they will be able to find a way to destroy God. However, the experiments have catastrophic consequences, causing the subjects to go insane and experience horrifying visions of a demonic entity known as "the God-Maker." As the project progresses, Kozlov's obsession with killing God becomes all-consuming, leading him to commit horrific acts of violence against his own team and anyone else who stands in his way. The story culminates in a final experiment in which Kozlov himself is exposed to the substance and confronts the God-Maker in a terrifying showdown. Overall, "The God-Maker" is a dark and disturbing tale that explores themes of obsession, power, and the dangers of playing God.
@@citocortez5631 Can't say it does. What I remember wasn't an intentional "hunt" for god, but more of an accidental discovery. Basically scientist discover something odd in Siberia, they don't know what's going on, our MC is part of the team sent to figure it out, and it turns out to be god.
@@panqueque445 i remember it this way too! The full thing they was looking for god and in the end it was revealed he had been killed many years ago during one of the world wars, specifically by the red army. There was a whole thing of how they thought god had abandoned humans, only for the twist ending of like “oh woops hes dead not left us behind”
Until the very end, I was convinced that OP was looking for the comic Supergod by Warren Ellis. It was dumped on /x/ around the same time (looks like it was published in 2009). I remember reading random pages as they popped up and then lost it and spent the entire video trying to hack out the right search term to find it. So this video helped me re-discover it. And now I'm looking for a complete version to buy lol
I went on a journey. From “isn’t that the Russian sleep experiment?” to “Oh, I remember the Nietzsche bit…” to “omg I definitely read this on /x/ a decade and a half ago” when you read out the monster paragraph. I can’t prove that I read it there, but I’m 90% sure it was passed around with that picture. Most creepypasta on /x/ back in the day were passed around by manually reposting them as images. They were all screencaps of text, sometimes with an picture, or other of other 4chan posts. Stuff was rarely archived back in the day. Those long threads were replaced by that one pinned megathread and I guess everyone assumed that was pretty much everything and deleted their saved pastas.
9:30 iirc, in russian sleep experiment the last test subject makes some claims abt being god or being attuned to god or smth along those lines before they kill him so there is a little bit of similarity, esp w the vagueness of the op but considering the popularity of russian sleep experiment i cant believe op didnt come across it before making their post so prob not the post edit: having finished the video i am aware the actual story has been found but yea my point w/o that information still stands, its way too popular to have possibly been the story
I got to know the image of the Creepypasta from a different perspective. a very famous youruber from Latin America once narrated the story saying that it was the skin of a soldier which was dismembered by an unknown animal or thing, and that the entire troop of soldiers had died after going through a forest in Poland, where it is supposed the piece of skin exposed in the photo was found. I heard the story around 2013
You should definitely cover the SCP foundation someday. From how the first story was created on 4-chan, the transfer of writings to a dedicated site, the joke-y tone the most of the first SCPs had, the community shift into the creepy, unsettling and dangerous because of a contributer leaving and taking down their stuff, the SCPs themselves, etc.
@@fruitylittlecritter yeah, there are some geniunly good stories on there that get overlooked because of the massive piles of dog 💩 that isn't horror or scary or funny it just exists as N overused non funny, pop culture and media reference. Ironically, the Global Occult Coalition, an organization dedicated to destroying/ "liquidation" Anomalies within the SCP Foundation narrative, was based on this lost pasta. EDIT: Didn't see the rest of video
2008 /x/phile here. I remember reading it and seeing it posted with the accompanying pic. Back then I completely disregarded it because the whole "God" "God is dead" etc. trope in creepypastas was really over-done. I'm pretty sure that's why it's lost today.
You’re the only channel I’ve actually turned notifications on for, you cover everything I’m interested in and your voice is perfect for this, keep up the good work!
The concept of god being tried for crimes against humanity is entirely the kind of cold technical juxtaposition to paranormal phenomena that defines the dry dark humor that SCP is known for, you can really see the roots of the writing style for a lot of SCP stuff in this, really cool find!
Oh thank god you found it. I felt like I was going insane watching this because I *vividly* remembered both the creepypasta and the picture and it was hitting so many neurons, but this absolutely was the story I read. Great content as always!
One creepypasta that im searching for is a The sims one, i think that the name is "Playing God" i remember that it was either being told in the sims 2 or 3, and the person soon finds out that if they create a sim looking like a IRL person, and they die in game, they die in life too (i know, i know its sounds horrible, but i liked it and still like ok?) And they start creating criminals and killing them too, but they start having nightmares about the victims, and in the end, they are in prison waiting death roll or something along these lines... I really want to find it, i remember listening to it in the Outside xtra channel, but i cant find it anymore (believe me, i searched every title related to it on yt) if anyone wants to try and help me, i'd be very thankful! Thank you for reading!
I am unsure if this place still exists or if the story still exists there but I clearly remember reading something similar on the someordinarygamers creepypasta wiki. It was a small community that attracted several reposts of stories that were later removed from the main creepypasta wiki for whatever reason. The quality of these stories varried greatly for this reason but it was a good aggregator of stories that either never made it to the creepypasta wiki, or were deemed not worthy of it...
I also remember reading a more complete version of this creepypasta in a wiki. It was definitely before the fandom takeover so it is pretty possible that it was removed for some reason in the main wiki and it was reposted to that one. Remember it being at least 3x longer, and unlike the found one which is more of a "monster hunter greentext"-hook, it was more like a "lost files" narrative. So I think it was made later based on it The stretched hide image made me remember it so clearly that that I even remember how the CSS was laid out: it was an a aside element, right-aligned, right near the article end (also, I think there was a caption). So it had to be an wiki. Definitely not 4chan, barely knew about it at the time I don't remember the experiments for technology part (it was more of a post-mortem?). Also don't think there was anything about heavy metals or nuclear tests killing supernatural creatures, or that "god being dead" line was just been tacked on in the middle of it. That was supposed to be the creepypasta pay-off/climax, there was at least one paragraph for it As far as I remember, it was more like the TOMT: It was an small soviet army group in the wilderness (don't remember if it was Siberia specifically) and they think it was an animal, so they empty their assault rifles on it since it didn't die right away. Then they later found it was god (the experiments part?), and they hide it away and conceal/withhold its death due to the cold war/religion Did it also end as the narrator thought he was getting hunted/murdered for this information? Was there also something before the russian army found god? Don't remember, nothing comes to mind. If someone remembers something like this, please share something. Tried searching in english and my mother language, but couldn't find it
Pretty sure the image with the Finnish soldiers and the skin is not what it says. General consensus is that the skin is from a moose. The image came from a personal collection that was being sold as a novelty, with a purported backstory of the photograph that doesn't really check out. Plus, human skin isn't that thick, and the color is off for the person they said it's from.
I was a kid who mindlessly consumed all sorts of creepy creepypasta content. I do remember one I liked about people killing God. I don't remember that it was soviet, so maybe I read the midwest version someone mentioned. But if it was from /x/, then we likely won't find it. It's very sad, but there's a ton of lost media from 4chan.
Creepypasta were the sort of thing to get reposted all the time, especially on boards like /x/. (it's in the name! Creepypasta as in creepy-copypasta) It's not unlikely at all that someone just reposted the story at some other point, but with the flayed image attached.
As soon as you said "God is Dead and We Had Killed Him", my mind opened up and I immediately remembered it. I did not read it, but back in 2012 when my brother first showed me the Creepy Pasta website, I saw what seemed to be a repost of that story in the forums. I believe it was taken down due to the image, but I vividly remember this. Glad it was found.
the mention of the evil farming game and saki sanobashi in this vid makes me think back to to where the saki sanobashi and evil farming game searches ultimately went, and i think it relates here: see, saki sanobashi was a case of a piece of lost media so unconfirmable, that people gave up looking because even if it does exist, most dont think it has any chance of being found, not to mention the nature causes most to default to "it doesnt exist" because it is a matter of believing it does that is needed for any meaningful effort. as for the evil farming game, it wasnt TRULY "just a joel stream" and i still, personally, dont consider it solved. it was a coalesce of a guy misremembering a joel stream that helped give momentum to and kickstart a search for a actual, real, distinct game, that ultimately, never got found, and only served to be mixed up with others people were looking for. I think one of those two is going on here, most likely the latter, as it seems this was some sort of creepypasta trope on 4chan at one point, and i think 3 different things are being looked for here. I REALLY hope that people dont make the same mistake of the evil farming game and end the search after finding one of the things being looked for, forgetting all about the one that most people WERE looking for.
i personally don't think saki sanobashi is real and was a 4chan shitpost but it's possible it's out there. the evil farming game really was just a stream though. after someone found the archive of the joel stream, the guy who originally made the post looking for the "game" confirmed that's what it was. he'd watch vinesauce streams while falling asleep and his brain turned it into more than what it actually was. also OP of the first TOMT post reached out to me saying the 4chan post is in fact what they read. they've since marked their post as solved. i'm sure there's other variations, but it's at the least the original and what OP was looking for
This makes me remember some creepypastas that I've heard in /x/ way back then that I haven't heard of nowadays. Mshets: a translated story from the Russian side of the net, about some sort of fungal anomaly in bumfuck nowhere village, Siberia. The title might be a Russianized 'Mycetes'. Carol: a story about a girl who made a whole-body saran wrap doll for a (art?) school project, and it became alive. There's a couple photos of the doll, dressed in yellow jacket, blue faded jeans, and a blonde wig, standing in a playground. Have you heard of these two?
This comment confused the heck out of me for a second there because Alberto Balsalm is a shampoo brand - is the song named after that or are they both named after something else?
Love that when I searched "finnish soldiers holding" Google autofilled the skin part. Also yeah, that image is terrifying and I can't imagine how effective it'd be with the story attached
Just came to the realization that ALL of your videos so far have given us information/stories that are 100% new to us. Not easy to do for 2 people who spend so much time doing internet deep dives in our free time! Thank you for all the work you to do to entertain and inform🙏🏻
Found this channel back in January. I was at my bed sick, I had covid, so I was browsing TH-cam. In my recommendation feed I found your channel and binged all of your videos. You singlehandedly carried me through the worst days of this year so far. Now I'm coming back with every upload! Much love, keep up the good work and keep doing what makes you happy! ✌️
The whole time I was watching this I was like "Oh I remember this! But I guess what I read was a summary, because I don't remember it being a whole story+picture." and then I got to the end, and it turns out out I was remembering the original post!
I've been following the most recent /tipofmytongue since it was posted and just got the notification that it was solved thanks to this video. I hadn't ever encountered this story myself but the references to it over the years were driving me nuts so THANK YOU for easing my curiosity a bit.
That disturbing photo has been used several times on other Creepypastas as well and I came across it too a long time ago when I fell down a rabbit hole of cannibalism occuring during WW2, particularly in the Eastern front and also by the Japanese army on a few occasions. Former US president George H W Bush fought in WW2 and himself almost got captured by a squad of Japanese cannibals that were prosecuted after the war
convinced by the "god is dead, and we've killed him." line that i read this when i was smaller. i was on the creepypasta wiki almost like i was studying for finals, reading all of them i could. crazy to have my memory kickstarted like that
i am an avid fan of scp / goc stories, and I distinctly remember the references to the soviet army killing god before having seen this video. It may have been referenced in GOC stories, scp entries, or just a general vague reference passed along by word of mouth. Either way, I am very excited to know it has an origin and that something i hadn’t connected to the scp foundation or goc previously, is actually connected in some way. Super interesting. You got a new subscriber!! love this sort of work n
Excellent video! Plenty of channels just summarize and rehash internet content without making much contribution themselves; I LOVE that you did the investigative work to find that neglected Reddit comment and verify the post with the SCP wiki. It's a surprise to me that even the SCP wiki had lost the original inspiration for the GOC before you reached out to them.
Speaking of lost content, in Alaska there was a blog that covered missing and murdered indigenous peoples, as well as a heart wrenching story about molestation by priests in the villages. They connected the dots on several murders in Anchorage as a serial killer (around 2012-2013?), and ended up deleted right around when the police confirmed the theory.
Jumpscare warning on the Russian sleep experiment photo 🤣 I shiver every time I see it! Love the video :) I’ve been watching for a while now, SUBSCRIBED!
Idk if this helps or if you already knew, but it's literally a photoshopped halloween decoration ☠️ it scared me for years until I casually found the unedited photo.
@@Nameless-ny8nk seeing it again made me want to know how the picture started, and I found that out! It’s crazy you can do that much editing to make a ugly Halloween decoration look like that!
I definitely remember reading something super similar to their description. But I’m from Eastern Europe and I read it in russian, so maybe in Russian language it will be easier to find and it not lost.
I commented that before finishing the video. The one I read was named “Siberia” or something similar, had similar premise but different one probably. Maybe translator changed it, maybe one story was based on another, maybe they aren’t related.
Very good video ! I really like that you are always covering new stuff that hasn't been talked to death before but interesting nonetheless. Also, I wanted to add that back in the golden days of creepypastas, I remember some websites adding photos that were not present in the original story to add spookyness, and only then the photo becomes linked to the story in the people's minds. This would explain why some redditors remember it and others don't. I'd say it happened in one of the later reposts of the story, as only the more recent testimonies on reddit mention it and the og 4chan post did not have one.
Aaaah very cool! Really nice look at the search for this creepypasta and congrats to axamlo for finding it and you for confirming it! I was really active on /x/ around the time of this pasta and when you described it it sounded so familiar, but I don't think I ever read the actual version found; no real surprise there though, since yeah, this trope was huge at the time and I think it influenced a lot of stories. I'd also mention that the post that was found might indeed be the only version, as it would likely count as a creepypasta itself since some stories were written in that really mundane, factual way on purpose, something that carried on into the style used for the SCP Foundation.
Wow, it's incredibly ironic that someone attached that specific image to the creepypasta and they became linked. The story is about Soviet soldiers, but the image is of Finnish soldiers: Soviets were the primary enemy of Finns in WWII, lmao. So it's exactly backwards.
Excellent work! It's nice to see one of these searches go so well. Typical SCP community win with them going out of their way to get in touch with that author for you. As for the image? I think the key is in the 'pasta' part of creepypasta. Someone pasted the post in another thread with that image attached because they thought it might go well with it, and naturally the pasta became associated with it.
I read this story back in 2013. Around Halloween my friend loaded a word document she claimed was emailed to her titled “secrets” on her live journal. It had some other stories in it, she deleted her journal years ago.
I've heard the term "God is dead and we have killed him" since I was a kid, and it always made me laugh, we (me and my old middle school friends) used to say it whenever something cringe happened. I had no idea that this originated so far
I just scrolled by, and I saw your perfect capitalization in your title. It genuinely took me by surprise compared to other titles. No capitalization of every word or letter but all in the right spots. None of the articles aside from "The" which is where and when it should be. I'm glad I'm not the only one who paid attention in language arts class.
hi kylie! love your videos! would you consider doing a video on banned content/movies? its such an expansive topic and i would be so happy to see your take on it!
It's interesting, I've definitely seen that photo of the men holding the skin up before in the creepyasta wiki but the story was in the context of the winter war
The thumbnail caught my eye. I remember seeing that image associated with a story like that in a creepypasta thread on /b/ way back around '08. Hadn't thought about it for years. Funny it became lost media
Praise to Kylie! I was starting to feel crazy throughout the video that I remembered the story, and when I saw the /x/ post I knew that was it. 😎 You're a real one!!!
Your channel alsways makes me so excited when I see you’ve posted a new one! Your voice fits well as a narrator for creepily disturbing content like this!! I love your channel and love seeing it grow!!
Unrelated to the subject, but a detail I love in your videos is how your voice gets audibly amused when somebody has a weird or funny username. It's delightful, don't lose that charm!
Initially wondered if this was about The Entity of Tzarachina (I think that's how you spell it?) but that idea was quickly dispelled. Surprised nobody brought it up though, given the vague similarities of the Soviet Army getting way over their head with a supernatural entity
I'm pretty solid on two separate pieces of media: "Frankenstein's Army" is a movie that's got similar stuff in it, as well as a similar cover photo. The other one is not a name I remember, however Mr. Creeps has made many videos on similar stuff and I'm pretty sure he's covered it.
came across it and thought it was fitting for the vibe of the video and was surprised it wasn't from a bigger channel! really great quality render :) hope you didn't mind me putting a clip of it in.
I feel like I have read a more fleshed out story along the same lines on tumblr years ago, probably around 2015. it certainly rings a bell. or maybe I did just read the 4chan post and created a false memory because this is my kind of stuff. it wouldn’t surprise me if it had been reposted by sixpenceee at some point. it’s not on her blog anymore, but she deleted a lot of her old stuff after the owning a child slave controversy so.
This story definitely sounded familiar to me! Usually when I hear lost media or tip of my tongue entries I never really recall the item like others. Even though this one has been found I feel like I had possibly read it on the tumblr sixpenceee account and was excited when you mentioned it. Perhaps someone read the original comment and submitted a short story onto sixpenceee with the photo or just the story alone. Or maybe even sixpenceee included the comment. Either way really interesting
Holy shit I think I remember this story. I was truly obsessed with creepy pasta and short horror stories in general when I was younger and new to the internet. I would literally read them for hours upon hours and listen to them on TH-cam :') good times
The funny thing is that in the GOC stories there is a story with the same premise, but obviously much more extensive. Instead of being the red army, it's a bunch of old timey occultists, and Nietzche writes "God is dead" because the psychic backlash of killing God was so severe it was felt all over the world. Cool how the premise was reinterpreted for the SCP wiki.
I used to read a ton of these in between classes at school, I remember this one kinda spooky one about a spirit/demon/ghost or something that haunts you and plays ragtime music through public bathroom vents which gets progressively louder before supposedly something happens to you. Not that it scares me but I can’t go into a public bathroom without thinking about it anymore 😅
Well, to this day, I am still looking for a Pokémon creepypasta that I first found around 2012. It was a cursed cartridge type of story, probably Pokémon Yellow, though I can't remember the full story. The game starts out as usual, with the player getting his Pikachu starter and setting off for an adventure in Kanto. Everything appears to be normal until people and Pokémon start to get sick. As the game progresses, various NPCs die from an unknown illness, and it's up to the player and Pikachu to discover what is going on. At some point, there was even a trainer sprite with a face mask on, I think. When the player reaches Cinnabar Island, the epidemic has already got out of hand. Blaine only has a Lv 9 Charmander left, and thus, the Gym battle is a breeze. At the end of the game, pretty much everyone has died, except for the player and Pikachu. It is here that the player discovers that Pikachu was the one who first caught the virus, and so the player's journey was what spread the virus around the region.
Oh damn now you talk about it I'm pretty sure I've read something similar years ago, I think I've read it on a french website who translated creepypastas in french from all around the internet, I'm glad it truly exists and well it brings some memories lol

Wow. For such a common joke "God is dead we killed him" I'm surprised stories involving it haven't been more popular. Love seeing vids like this, yet again a deeply interesting obscure piece of media. Thanks for another excellent vid!
Oh and congrats on officially solving the mystery!
thank you!
However, the experiments have catastrophic consequences, causing the subjects to go insane and experience horrifying visions of a demonic entity known as "the God-Maker."
As the project progresses, Kozlov's obsession with killing God becomes all-consuming, leading him to commit horrific acts of violence against his own team and anyone else who stands in his way.
Yeah this rings a bell! I dunno if I read it but your comment definitely sounds familiar
@citocortez5631 could have just called Kratos and that would've fixed everything 😒
Well I hope someone has now written a full story based on this concept cause it’s pretty interesting
15:41 “…..tumblr user sixpencee…” oh my god I haven’t heard that name in so long
9:30 iirc, in russian sleep experiment the last test subject makes some claims abt being god or being attuned to god or smth along those lines before they kill him so there is a little bit of similarity, esp w the vagueness of the op but considering the popularity of russian sleep experiment i cant believe op didnt come across it before making their post so prob not the post
edit: having finished the video i am aware the actual story has been found but yea my point w/o that information still stands, its way too popular to have possibly been the story
That would be “the red army” by mrcreepypasta
was this the creepypasta where the soviets broke some old slovian statues and were eaten alive by bugs?
@@ikaiju-eu9wn Nope, I don't know that one tho
Was it Dross? He talked about the story with the image in the video "Dross cuenta historias de terror XXV"
Most scp stuff is sadly dumpster fire, this is coming from a huge scp fan, most of it is not that good, I personally hate the joke enteries
4 chan may be an abominable internet cesspit at times but god as some amazing things came from it like scp, the backrooms, even criminal arrests.
@@Infisrael Not into thought experiments too?
@@fruitylittlecritter yeah, there are some geniunly good stories on there that get overlooked because of the massive piles of dog 💩 that isn't horror or scary or funny it just exists as N overused non funny, pop culture and media reference. Like I don't give a f how many chainsaws are allowed to be in Dr brights presence or how the toilet scp says it's gonna eat your butt. Give me more geniunly interesting connected stories like dj cactuses. And most of the interesting stuff on there sadly gets replaced with REDACTED like oh you wanna know the conclusion to this interesting plot? It's REDACTED
I turn on notifications for TH-camrs I’ve seen every video of. So of course they’re on for Kylie.
Plus the aesthetic of the videos are top tier
it's rare to see lost media videos that actually end with it being found. what a nice change of pace!
It’s possible the image got shared around later- someone mentioned Sixpenceee potentially posting it, and she’d tend to add images to her posts
The concept of god being tried for crimes against humanity is entirely the kind of cold technical juxtaposition to paranormal phenomena that defines the dry dark humor that SCP is known for, you can really see the roots of the writing style for a lot of SCP stuff in this, really cool find!
Considering the gnostic weirdos on /x/, it's likely not quite humor but a sincere belief...
Consider asking SomeOrdinaryGamers Mutahar about if he knows anythung
I also remember reading a more complete version of this creepypasta in a wiki. It was definitely before the fandom takeover so it is pretty possible that it was removed for some reason in the main wiki and it was reposted to that one. Remember it being at least 3x longer, and unlike the found one which is more of a "monster hunter greentext"-hook, it was more like a "lost files" narrative. So I think it was made later based on it
The stretched hide image made me remember it so clearly that that I even remember how the CSS was laid out: it was an a aside element, right-aligned, right near the article end (also, I think there was a caption). So it had to be an wiki. Definitely not 4chan, barely knew about it at the time
I don't remember the experiments for technology part (it was more of a post-mortem?). Also don't think there was anything about heavy metals or nuclear tests killing supernatural creatures, or that "god being dead" line was just been tacked on in the middle of it. That was supposed to be the creepypasta pay-off/climax, there was at least one paragraph for it
As far as I remember, it was more like the TOMT: It was an small soviet army group in the wilderness (don't remember if it was Siberia specifically) and they think it was an animal, so they empty their assault rifles on it since it didn't die right away. Then they later found it was god (the experiments part?), and they hide it away and conceal/withhold its death due to the cold war/religion
Did it also end as the narrator thought he was getting hunted/murdered for this information? Was there also something before the russian army found god? Don't remember, nothing comes to mind. If someone remembers something like this, please share something. Tried searching in english and my mother language, but couldn't find it
Pretty sure the image with the Finnish soldiers and the skin is not what it says. General consensus is that the skin is from a moose. The image came from a personal collection that was being sold as a novelty, with a purported backstory of the photograph that doesn't really check out. Plus, human skin isn't that thick, and the color is off for the person they said it's from.
Most likely it's a horse, since they were heavily used during ww2 .
5:07 the op actually replied an hour ago to this and said that this was the exact photo they recalled
I do remember reading something about "killing god in Siberia" back in the day and thinking "this is a cool concept".
the mention of the evil farming game and saki sanobashi in this vid makes me think back to to where the saki sanobashi and evil farming game searches ultimately went, and i think it relates here: see, saki sanobashi was a case of a piece of lost media so unconfirmable, that people gave up looking because even if it does exist, most dont think it has any chance of being found, not to mention the nature causes most to default to "it doesnt exist" because it is a matter of believing it does that is needed for any meaningful effort. as for the evil farming game, it wasnt TRULY "just a joel stream" and i still, personally, dont consider it solved. it was a coalesce of a guy misremembering a joel stream that helped give momentum to and kickstart a search for a actual, real, distinct game, that ultimately, never got found, and only served to be mixed up with others people were looking for. I think one of those two is going on here, most likely the latter, as it seems this was some sort of creepypasta trope on 4chan at one point, and i think 3 different things are being looked for here. I REALLY hope that people dont make the same mistake of the evil farming game and end the search after finding one of the things being looked for, forgetting all about the one that most people WERE looking for.
i personally don't think saki sanobashi is real and was a 4chan shitpost but it's possible it's out there. the evil farming game really was just a stream though. after someone found the archive of the joel stream, the guy who originally made the post looking for the "game" confirmed that's what it was. he'd watch vinesauce streams while falling asleep and his brain turned it into more than what it actually was. also OP of the first TOMT post reached out to me saying the 4chan post is in fact what they read. they've since marked their post as solved. i'm sure there's other variations, but it's at the least the original and what OP was looking for
11:57 sixpencee mention jumpscare
I'm cursed with mid 2010s forum discourse
I thought I was hallucinating but there really is Alberto Balsalm playing in the background!!
Beautiful video and even more beautiful taste in music!!
This comment confused the heck out of me for a second there because Alberto Balsalm is a shampoo brand - is the song named after that or are they both named after something else?
Have you seen Aphex Twin's luscious hair! in my opinion I have no idea that would be possible
But what about the Windows96 song??
Love that when I searched "finnish soldiers holding" Google autofilled the skin part. Also yeah, that image is terrifying and I can't imagine how effective it'd be with the story attached
man you can’t just casually name drop sixpenceee like that, felt like a jump scare
aw i'm happy to hear watching the videos helped distract from how much covid sucked, thank you for the kind words!
The whole time I was watching this I was like "Oh I remember this! But I guess what I read was a summary, because I don't remember it being a whole story+picture." and then I got to the end, and it turns out out I was remembering the original post!
The Jeff The Killer Face still gets me - 😭😭😭😭😭
I'll admit, it still gives me a little jump, and 20 seconds in was far too early
my apologies
Wow I didn’t know the GOC in SCP was inspired from an older Creepypasta, that’s so cool!
The amount of things that somehow get lost forever really shocks me. Especially how most of the lost media is horror related
I've been following the most recent /tipofmytongue since it was posted and just got the notification that it was solved thanks to this video. I hadn't ever encountered this story myself but the references to it over the years were driving me nuts so THANK YOU for easing my curiosity a bit.
The second you started reading out Reddit usernames, I was hoping something wacky would pop up. ThePeenMachine did not disappoint!
That disturbing photo has been used several times on other Creepypastas as well and I came across it too a long time ago when I fell down a rabbit hole of cannibalism occuring during WW2, particularly in the Eastern front and also by the Japanese army on a few occasions. Former US president George H W Bush fought in WW2 and himself almost got captured by a squad of Japanese cannibals that were prosecuted after the war
convinced by the "god is dead, and we've killed him." line that i read this when i was smaller. i was on the creepypasta wiki almost like i was studying for finals, reading all of them i could. crazy to have my memory kickstarted like that
Lowkey one of my favorite TH-camrs right now, I get stoked when I see a new upload 🎉🎉
i am an avid fan of scp / goc stories, and I distinctly remember the references to the soviet army killing god before having seen this video.
It's a surprise to me that even the SCP wiki had lost the original inspiration for the GOC before you reached out to them.
thank you, really glad you enjoyed the video!
Speaking of lost content, in Alaska there was a blog that covered missing and murdered indigenous peoples, as well as a heart wrenching story about molestation by priests in the villages. They connected the dots on several murders in Anchorage as a serial killer (around 2012-2013?), and ended up deleted right around when the police confirmed the theory.

omg that story i was looking for at some point and as soon as you started reading it i was like THERE IT IS!! thank you so much lol
Jumpscare warning on the Russian sleep experiment photo 🤣 I shiver every time I see it! Love the video :) I’ve been watching for a while now, SUBSCRIBED!
The moment i read this, it popped on my face 💀
Idk if this helps or if you already knew, but it's literally a photoshopped halloween decoration ☠️ it scared me for years until I casually found the unedited photo.
@@Nameless-ny8nk seeing it again made me want to know how the picture started, and I found that out! It’s crazy you can do that much editing to make a ugly Halloween decoration look like that!

Dr Crow helped shape so much of SCP in general, it's no surprise he could help with this too
I definitely remember reading something super similar to their description.
Can it be "Курочка, открой дверь"?
Very good video ! I really like that you are always covering new stuff that hasn't been talked to death before but interesting nonetheless. Also, I wanted to add that back in the golden days of creepypastas, I remember some websites adding photos that were not present in the original story to add spookyness, and only then the photo becomes linked to the story in the people's minds. This would explain why some redditors remember it and others don't. I'd say it happened in one of the later reposts of the story, as only the more recent testimonies on reddit mention it and the og 4chan post did not have one.
Hey! That's me! Glad I could help at least find something to help in this search lol
nice to see you show up haha!
How did the algorithm get me here?
Ah well, let’s dive right in! It’s cool to be early to a channel like this.
Same, I always thought it was just a meme
I’ve been refreshing my page for weeks while I’m at work hoping you’d post omg thanks homie
Loved the video! The surprise and the end was very nice! Keep up the good work!
The thumbnail caught my eye. I remember seeing that image associated with a story like that in a creepypasta thread on /b/ way back around '08. Hadn't thought about it for years. Funny it became lost media
great work helping out and documenting this! always love 2 hear about old pieces of lost media being found
Praise to Kylie! I was starting to feel crazy throughout the video that I remembered the story, and when I saw the /x/ post I knew that was it. 😎 You're a real one!!!

Thanks again for another banger upload. Sick that you guys were able to find the original post, I remember that story going around back then.
Unrelated to the subject, but a detail I love in your videos is how your voice gets audibly amused when somebody has a weird or funny username. It's delightful, don't lose that charm!
thank you, makes me happy that it's something that sticks out to you!
Initially wondered if this was about The Entity of Tzarachina (I think that's how you spell it?) but that idea was quickly dispelled. Surprised nobody brought it up though, given the vague similarities of the Soviet Army getting way over their head with a supernatural entity
Does anyone recall that the name of the still lost creepy pasta (different from the one found) could be something like "The God-Maker"?
I'm pretty solid on two separate pieces of media:
"Frankenstein's Army" is a movie that's got similar stuff in it, as well as a similar cover photo.
The other one is not a name I remember, however Mr. Creeps has made many videos on similar stuff and I'm pretty sure he's covered it.
kylie i just want to say i love your vids so much and i’m so excited for every time you post !
At the minute 0:42 you are using a video of mine, it's nice to see that a bigger channel liked my video enough to use it. :))

@@sombertobogglyI do not mind, actually, it makes me happy, thank you. :))
These were amazingly presented/researched!!! Thank you for your work 💕
thank you so much! happy to hear you enjoyed it :)
This is a great video. In a way, it's a creepypasta in itself with the way you set everything up. Good job!
Either way really interesting
i remember this pasta as well. i don't think i actually read it but as an old /x/ user i definitely remember it floating around.
Im always so happy when you upload a new video!
Yeah i think the rat’s nest
YT recommended me this video, and it is right up my alley. This is great coverage.
I used to read a ton of these in between classes at school, I remember this one kinda spooky one about a spirit/demon/ghost or something that haunts you and plays ragtime music through public bathroom vents which gets progressively louder before supposedly something happens to you. Not that it scares me but I can’t go into a public bathroom without thinking about it anymore 😅
i love stuff like this, good creepypastas really give me this itch to dig up everything i possibly can about it, truly my favourite kind of horror
Didn’t hoops and hip hop covered this during Halloween a few years ago late 2010’s? Top something of Pokémon creepypastas
