On Saturday, September 23, Mixmag takes to the rave oasis of The Brooklyn Mirage to capture a pair of unique DJ sets from the Paradise showcase.
Leading off the live stream is an eclectic set from Turbo Recordings boss Tiga. The Montreal-based producer has developed a strong reputation as an electronic innovator throughout his career, releasing on esteemed labels like Counter Records and Crosstown Rebels, while most of his material can be found on his home imprint of Turbo. Always expect the unexpected when Tiga hops in the DJ booth.
The night cap is of course the highly anticipated collaborative performance from Paradise boss Jamie Jones and SCI+TEC founder Dubfire. The two iconic talents will be closing out the marathon event with a two-hour b2b session consisting of strictly 90s house jams. They’ve been known to leave dancefloors in shambles with their b2b sets, having performed together a handful of times in recent years. This time they’ll cap off the summer live in Brooklyn.
The Brooklyn Mirage has taken the local scene by storm this past season, bringing world renowned artists like Tale Of Us, Adriatique, Recondite, Andhim, Stephan Bodzin, Anja Schneider and much more to its unique and immersive venue. Now Mixmag will showcase the unique atmosphere in the best way possible, with a live stream featuring world class DJs.

I was there. It was a sick party. For the critics on here, a few points - it was pretty packed on the floor and in what was a really MASSIVE space, so a little hard to dance. I was actually chilling on the balcony levels for the B2B. Bad track selection? Subjective obviously. But I will say, Dubfire solo fuckin' rocked, amped up the energy after an electro-ish set by TIGA, and Jamie played how I'd expect him to - kinda groovy and funky. Off the bat I'd say Dubfire 2017 doesn't really fit with Jamie Jones, but don't forget Dubfire of Yoshitoshi and Deep Dish was solidly in the house/deep house/progressive house scene before entering his darker techno phase. And as far as really dancing (plus having the space for it before it got crowded), Honey Dijon around 11 PM knocked my f'ing socks off with some funky-ass tracks and good DJ skills.. all in all, Brooklyn Mirage now is a tremendous venue, if you can't tell on the video. It's like a more laid-back outdoor club of Ushuaia scale.
djshadow2469 WORD.
Thank you.
the main stage was terrible, the wax stage was killing it all night
did you have to pay extra for balcony? I wanna be on balcony but tickets dont specify?
this was indeed a sick party. Never was into mirage but fuck, I'd do anything to be back at this party
No one dancing dancing!
I was dancing nonstop what a hell of a party this was, better know I throw it down 🕺🏼🕺🏼🕺🏼🕺🏼
que rico este houseeee ufff til the sunrise and we don't even know if it would end
listening to this while working and its super epic. some flashback tunes in there...
This is really good, feel like I’m in south Beach in 98 and I’m only 20 lol
best comment keep the rave alive... i'm 45 and still rocking
i was there, b2b wasnt memorable but Dubfire alone blew me away... incredibleeeee
he played by himself after that?
nah, before the b2b
For people saying the crowd looks dead ive never been or seen another party that looks any different anywhere in the world. Brooklyn mirage is easily the best venue in the east coast and probably the best in the US. People look for anything to complain. I see videos in other parts of the US and especially europe where 95% of the crowd is video taping....
Its not the music in the venue, its the crowd. Music is an experience to take part in and enjoy, not a passive one like watching a tv or movie. Look at crowds at these live sets through the years here in the USA. Every year, the crowd has slowly grown more sedentary and facing towards the DJ instead of moving and dancing. Weird phenomenon i dont know how or why itnhappened
Funky Green Dogs - Reach For Me. Such a groove!
Unreal!
1 hora y 42 min... ALTER EGO - ROCKER !!!!! genios genios SUPREMO!!!
Love the opening.
I like when DJs with different styles join to play together. Most of the times, just like this one, the result is not good, but sometimes you can get amazing results. I think that the problem is that neither Jamie nor Dubfire changed their style to adapt it to the other DJ, or they failed in the attempt. That's why I was amazed by the amount of DJs that Carl Cox played b2b during Space's closing season and always with amazing results. Cox is a DJ that can adapt to almost any style, and that can only be achieved by real legends.
I'd love rock a b2b set with Carl Cox anytime! Lol.
@Jamie Jones es un moustro, hermano la lleva al maximo cabilla!!!!!! #Jamiejones

I don't agree with some comments stating the the mixing was bad, actually the transition between tracks is amazing. I do agree that the track selection is not something out of this world, probably if they were going for something housy there were lots and lots of better tracks to play. Of course wen can expect better from them.

1:49 Plizzzz
Who put a microphone right by the fog machine!?
Im ok with this set. If your going to plays a 90s B2B set, it's not going to be clean. But what I assume why people look like zombies is because everyone is expecting massive build ups and break downs. Not happening. Also Dubfire will go the Deep Dish route and Jamie with the tech, so might not mesh well but I appreciate it.
Shit's Dope yo!
Tracklist nyeowwwwww
was there, jamie played for 2 hours before the b2b set and it was absolutely amazing and high energy. Dubfire was just real lowkey all night and personally i didnt enjoy his set at all. Then after jamies set they went back to back at around 2am. Not so great, dubfire just can't mix like jamie.
and dubfires track choices were shit lol
Different styles can of course sound well together, do not know what all of you are talking. In former times and also in this times the cool fuckin real deejays always put a great Repertoire on styles together in one set, on one part darker one The other uplifting, groovy , stomper or however you would like to call it. For example sven vaeth in a long set plays evrrything from house electronic techno to trance and it is and was almost great. And there are also deejays who play very wild in their sets, goin through 5 styles in less than 20 min and it fits, the most important thing thing is : Groove rollin, and a deejay who's with the crowd and who is really into it so that he affects his audience.

Because it is the US check the set of Tiga on the same day...the same few people dancing
I kinda feel disappointed watching this to be honest I mean come one Jamie jones & dubfire together huh both cats are great djs in my book but dubfire more minimal and Jamie more tropical tech funky house so no its not a great mixture its something I wouldn't expect I would of expected dubfire mixing along side Richie hawtin or Nicole moudaber even but Jamie jones?
