I remember the red strings and I remember the metal boxes (especially the one you show in the video!)

Hi Carolyn! I love the metal boxes. My grandma had one for Band-Aid that she kept around for years (it was where she hid her petty cash!). :)

I remember when the sheer bandages were rectangular when I was little, then they changed to tapered ends later.

I have brought some Band aids on Amazon I live in the UK and have noticed at a price band aid, as I once had a first aid kit that was very old the plasters contained was curad washproof, and they stayed stuck even with contact with water which causes a lot of our plasters except good old elastoplast in the uk to just fall off even though they are advertised as washproof. It's arriving tomorrow along with some medihoney

Thanks for that interesting summation and demo re how to open.....sad that band aids are still not easy to open, easily and quickly as you need it.

I remember the red string. If you didn’t rush it it usually worked. But if you were bleeding 🩸 out, you’d rush and it’d screw up. You’d have to grab another. Lol. Old memories!! ❤

I remember seeing an ad probably from the 1950s that showed someone using the red string to open a Band-Aid. A man’s hand grasped the string and slowly pulled on it with the sound of the wrapper tearing. I was hoping someone still had a video of that ad. You might want to look in the Bible (Joshua 2:18+) for an interesting backstory.

All Japanese people knows "Johnson&Johnson" because repeating on TV show advertising. Some kids imitate "Johnson&Johnson" aka the name of cleaner of bathroom. Our essentials item is band-aid.

Red strings were a royal pain. I'd say they only worked half the time at best.

Yes, but the current dotted tear line is useless...most of the time...
