The saddle hackles you use lie flat on the fly or the flat side is flush with the hook shank. I can't really judge this on the video. Thank you for your response. Ton Cremers from the Netherlands.
Hi Ton. Keith here, I don't think it really matters but if it was me tying it I'd put the flat side flush to the shank. It helps the hackle stand up a bit more.
