Sounds awesome! I couldn't keep mine in bags. They called to me. 🤣 I know a guy who has doubles of 9 of the mav's. They're short printed and spendy. What's your price range right now?
That is a great set to collect so congratulations for completing it! This set has a lot of key rookie cards such as Drexler, Thomas, Wilkins, and Worthy. Some teams are short printed and harder to find, which increases the thrill of the hunt. I also love the design of Star basketball cards. Thanks for sharing your collection with us.
Wow, this is a sweet set! Congratulations on this set Eric!! Love it! Great info on the players as well! Dominique and Bird are very cool! Isiah RC is excellent too!!! On to the 1984 Set….
Awesome Eric! Great looking set and under appreciated by the hobby in my opinion. I agree some of the photographs are great! I like the color matched borders for many of the teams as well! Congrats on completing the set!
Grats on completing this great set! The slabs of Drexler, Thomas, Bird and the last card you needed, Wilkins, look amazing! I still call those XRC’s and the 86-87 Fleer cards the RC’s. But I have no issues calling these rookie cards. They are. I have about 60% of this set, but none of the main rookies. It’s great to be able to see the complete set! Amazing accomplishment!
There is a prior Star Co card for Isiah Thomas - “Star ‘83” NBA All-Star game. (He’s not in a Detroit uniform, but it is earlier - it was the first set NBA set Star produced.)
@@the_card_closet Eeeeeeh … it’s probably part of the whole Star Co fun/debate. I think the “Star ‘84” Detroit in-uniform card is the more significant, more valuable… I’m biased toward the earlier one because I’ve had three copies of that OG All-Star set for 30 years, though I’ve given many of the singles away to friends over the years … I’d say they’re both some kind of “XRC”(?!?), as they didn’t come in packs (although the college and NIL cards are mangling those lines now, too) … Star made so many co-branded specials, too; I have an ‘84 Franz (Bakery) Clyde Drexler, made by Star Co., that was from my local bakery as a kid; Star Co made cards for the same bakery for years, including “first year” in-uniform Jerome Kersey, Terry Porter, and other beloved Blazers, some all-stars (later Blazer great Buck Williams has a similar card to Isiah Thomas’ in the same “Star ‘83” All-Star set, the other big “rookie” in that set). I know there are many co-branded sets, and the Jordan variations are another category, entirely, of course … I think the 5x7 giant cards are cool, too, as their own category.
Love STAR Cards ..Congrats on completing the set , I am fortunate enough to have all 3 years in original 71 bags 735 Card total .. Love the Jordan subsets and the 5x7's especially the SLAM DUNK . Good luck with the next 2 years! Just subscribed to your channel
Congrats on the set I think you are one of maybe a couple hundred people to have this set it looks great I always love the action shots great cards and another great video
I absolutely love Star Co. basketball cards! Congrats on finishing their first set! 🤯🤯🤯 There are some tough cards in there due to quality control issues, to include the 76ers and Lakers team sets! This inspires me! I really need to start showing my Star Co. basketball cards on my channel! IMHO, 1986 Fleer basketball is ridiculously over-rated and Star Co. is where all of the glorious cards reside! But hey, that's just my opinion! 😊
Nice set completion Star did a few years i wish they would have stuck around making cards high quality also for those few years always wondered why they didn't print cards thanks for sharing as always
Great video. Love the NBA knowledge. That Larry Nance card has always been interesting to me. Due the picture being the same picture that fleer would use in 86/87 Maurice Lucas finished his career back here in Portland (87/88)
@@the_card_closet I was a US House Page in the summer of 1991, and Congressman McMILLEN (my typo) was easy to see on the house floor; that summer, Alonzo Mourning, still at Georgetown, was working in a senator’s office (Barbara Mikulski, I recall - maybe he was just there a few times), and we used to laugh about pickup games where he and McMillen were banging the boards with Senator Bill Bradley in one of the Senate gyms!
Fell a a sleep again garbage food. as far as our guest who would have known. Great accomplishment! I'm 1/2 done with this set. Still need most of Dallas cards. Some teams are in bags including Nique and the rest of the Hawks.

I like the design too. But a new one each year would have been nice.

Ha! 3 Jordan's in that one. 💸💸💸
Great video Eric. Super looking set with so many fantastic players. Big Congrats on finishing the set. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, appreciate it! One of the toughest I've done.
Awesome as always

Thanks, Jim!
Star cards are my favorite right behind the 86-87 Fleer basketball. Great looking set! Highly underrated set
Thanks! They really fill what would otherwise be a big gap in years.

Do you consider that his rookie card? I haven't heard anybody make that argument.

That's incredible! I've never heard of anyone having all 3 sets. I have 4 to go.
Walton didn’t last, but hard to say he didn’t “reach” his potential - won a championship, MVP, late-career 6th-MOY on another champion …
Yeah, that's fair. I was thinking of his many injuries, I guess.
@@the_card_closet Tragic …
This is a tough set to complete! So many great cards. Congrats!
Thank you! Yeah, it took many years.
Congratulations on completing a very cool BBall set Eric!🏀

Thank you! Just subbed you. Looking forward to seeing your Collection. I made a big step forward on another star set today.
Fun complete set Eric. This had to be a hard one to complete with the Bird and the Mavericks. Enjoyed as always buddy.
Tough, yes. But a labor of love. You getting tons of snow??
Nice set completion Star did a few years i wish they would have stuck around making cards high quality also for those few years always wondered why they didn't print cards thanks for sharing as always
True, and I also wish they had started a year earlier so there wasn't that gap year for basketball. Lol 😆
Great video. Love the NBA knowledge.
That Larry Nance card has always been interesting to me. Due the picture being the same picture that fleer would use in 86/87
Maurice Lucas finished his career back here in Portland (87/88)
I did a video once showing all the reused photos between star and fleer. It's an interesting fact. Thanks for watching!!
I’m trying to build mine as well as the 84-85 set. You’re definitely right, a lot easier without the Jordans in it
How is your progress? It's a fun one to do.
Getting there. Just need the big team sets. I have all the sets outside the base ones (dunk contest, Celtics/sixers/lakers champs, bird, etc)
Tom McMullen went on the US Congress …
Did not know that.

1. I'm estimating, but around #7.
