Standing at 6 ft 3, At Only 20 years old and in his debut season he is Following in the footsteps of his father, Ratu Vuniani Derenalagi, Representing Fiji in the 7s World Series. His nickname is "White Shark", which was also his father’s nickname. Meli had an outstanding season of rugby as he was part of many debutants to play for Fiji in the year, winning prestigious awards such as player of the final, rookie of the year and also making the 7s series dream team for 2018-19. We look forward to seeing this young talent in the future.

True. Not only successor to Nakarawa but captain-in-waiting for the Flying Fijian 15s come world cup in France. After next years Olympic in Japan, he will be fast tracked into the Flying Fijians, no doubt. Said this before this year's world cup in Japan.
