In retrospect, that scene gave away way too much way too soon. No joke, by the time we had got to that scene, I just about had most of the important beats of chapter 6 in the bag, because the video re-affirmed so many of my suspicions and hunches.

Being meguca is suffering. And here it sounds like they’re playing the tune you often hear in the executions of DR2, the one that plays under the “Reach for the stars” vocals.

its pretty neat how this song is a remix of distrust cuz that was kyoko’s theme and now this is shuichi’s theme... both of them are detectives THIS IS THE ULTIMATE DETECTIVE THEME SONG
this song played most of the time whenever a truth about Rantaro revealed. for an example: this played after his death. then whenever they were talking about the ultimate hunt, they always got suspicious of rantaro since he knew more about the ultimate hunt more than everyone else. and I suppose, this played after finding out what rantaro's talent was ?
fits perfectly as the theme of shuichi, the ultimate detective. now, is this the theme of shuichi, the person? probably not. hes a good boy and 100% cinnamon roll. but this fits perfectly for a detective that reveals an ugly truth that you may not have wanted to see...
