Moin Robert! 😊
Wünsche dir weiterhin ganz viel Schaffenskraft!
    LG Dominik

Nice job, I confirm masonery is a very big time-consuming: I began my own gardenrailway more than 10 years ago, and it's not finish yet.

A garden railway (or any model railway) is never finished. There will always be some details to add or changes that has to be made... it´s totally normal and for me thats the beauty of it.

That is a lot of work - using those small stones looks great, but takes forever!
I never realized all that is involved in a garden railway like this - so interesting.

There are many ways to build a garden railroad, some approaches involve more and some less work. I try to build this layout fore once and forever so there is a lot of work involved.

Oh you found my track inspector! They are currently learning the ropes of track maintanance and how to behave along the railway line.

another great video i wonder what does your neighbours think of your project

My neighbors like it a lot. They actually allowed me to build parts of my railroad on their property. This was key for me because then I was able to extend my layout in to another part of my garden which I couldn´t have done otherwise. They benefit by having a nicely maintained property line and some trains to watch in the future :)

You have been doing a fantastic job on this garden railway !! As a landscaper here in the USA. I simply love your garden also. I was a bit concern about your choice of under lament, though. Being that POND LINER does not drain. I was wondering if you have had any flooding issues ? I do understand that you laid it flat but with your soil compaction and concrete boarder. I was biting my nails So I just had to ask !! I simply love what you are accomplishing !! Thanks for sharing, Ron

Hey Ron! Thank you for your nice comment. You are totally right, pond liner as underlayment is the wrong choice in most circumstances regarding weed barriers in the garden. As a profassional (like you are) I would never put this down in a costomers garden. At the first layout I have build (not on youtube) I used landscape fabric and the results have been catastrophic. Weeds growing through the fabric was one issue and the fabric was pushed up by weeds and grass growing alongside the boundry of the fabric. After a few years this layout was a total loss, the maintanace was overwhelming. At the same time my friend started to use pond liner and I had the same concerns you have mentioned in your comment. But years later I can say there are no problems at all, neither at my friends layout nor at mine. There are quite a few gaps in the pond liner which allows water to flow underneath and the rest of it evapurates. I hope this answers your question!

@@summitrailway good to hear. I am happy things are working out for your layout. I would like to mention that I use a woven commercial grade landscape (nursery)fabric in a ton of my project. It is nowhere near as expensive as pond liner. Here in the US, a 3ft x 150ft roll is $50.00. It drains really well, and I have used rolls as wide as 16ft x 300ft in greenhouse and playground installs. Just letting you know about another product. As I said before, love the garden railway and garden. Fantastic work !! I will be watching for more updates !!
