The mindset advice also applies to being a TH-camr, be prepared for a long journey. “Your shop will look like a yard sale”. Love that! So much of this advice applies to being an influencer. I have a RV travel youtube channel and we sell products i design and 3d print in our RV. I am using our youtube channel to sell our products instead of having sponsors and brand deals on our channel. Do learn Do, is also a good youtube advice. Just hit RECORD! 80/20 is called the Pareto principle. I have been lazy about shipping before, but i was surprised how cool the customer was about a late shipment. Larry
Yeah man I totally agree. I of course have a YT channel and this also applies. Pretty much anything you do if you want to find success requires this mindset. It's not magic. We are tricked a lot into thinking it's easy or magic in today's world. I love the strategy of using YT to grow your Etsy business.... so smart and I think the wave of future.
And when was the last time you actually went to an etsy shop? Most buyers never actually go to your shop homepage. They buy your items from the search results. So if you sell a bunch of different things, most will never know or associate it with your "shop". Top sellers sell a lot because they have thousands of listings.
Thank you so much for your great content. I listen to you all the time to get myself motivated 😊. I have a question. Where is the option to send shop updates? I am looking at the ap and can't find it. Or is it discontinued? Thank you so much.
Thanks for listening! I'm glad that my episodes help you stay motivated. That's great to know and motivation for me to keep putting out content. The shop updates no longer exits. Etsy rolled out the explore function on the Sell on Etsy app which pretty much too it's place. You can put out content and be found via that. It's kind of like their own social media platform.
Half a million over 10 years? I’m not criticizing, that’s good money for sure…. I’m just wanting to make sure I’m understanding this with the right time frame in mind
Half a million in my best performing shop in the last 10 years. I've had several shops. My entire Etsy journey has been about 10 years. Usually it takes a few years in a niche/shop to figure it out and that time is a slower sales period. For example I was only selling about $3k a year for the first 3 years until I ramped it up to over $100k for the next 3.

LETS GIVE THIS BROTHER A ROUND OF APPLAUSE
Thank you
I think the last point you made about being positive is only partially correct. I think it's more about determination.
They fuel each other for sure 😎
