Exactly. No matter how cringy or terrible some people may think it is, this is part of my childhood and just sounds amazing still- to this very day~ Just hearing the Digi-Rap theme play makes me remember, as a kid, I was practically glued to the TV watching Digimon. Dang. Memories. Sitting on the dirty couch, smiling as the intro scene plays. Bopping my head to this song, and awaiting the movie I thought was the best movie of all time. Sometimes with popcorn, sometimes without, but I didn't really care about that. I cared about the experience the movie gave me, and how I could watch it over and over without getting bored. If I could go back in time and talk to my past self, I think one of Flamingo's quotes summarizes perfectly what I would say; "Why are you so easily entertained? Why can't I be happy like you?" Paul Gordon is the artist who composed the original English opening, which was used as the base track for this song, but... The Golden Hawaiian Swordsman Dragon is SO grateful to be born in the 90's when everyone was starting to watch classic anime like Digimon & to watch Digimon: The Movie in the early 2,000's and to ham to classic tunes like this!!!! As a 30 year old adult in 2023, I can say I have NO REGRETS being a fan of The Original Digimon!!!!
Honestly people can say this is a bad song all they like, it won't change the fact that I have never once listened to this song while in a bad mood and then still been sad afterwards.
I love this rap it's so cheesy, stupid and funny yet charming. It's how I feel about the dub of the anime as well. The sub is better but I think the dub is underrated and good fun for kids.
I know this is a different vibe, it can't replace the original ost of course. But that doesn't mean this can't be good! I'm not even American, I didn't even listen to this in my childhood, I grew up watching Digimon with butterflies and brave hearts, which I love, but this is so good too!!
As child this was the first theme of digimon that i heard...I kind of liked...and then, in Latin America the anime sub was based entirely in the original version, and man!!!!!! Listening Butterfly after this...sorry, but I didn´t wanted to hear it untill today xD
I don’t really get how it’s corny, it’s meant for a kids show anyways. If thinking it’s not like rap now, well not all rap threw swearing left and right.
I heard the movie version so much that when I finally heard this one (this was forever ago), I HATED this one. This was my first realization that the official versions of songs are NEVER the exact same. The cadence and inflections in this version is so off for me. It's nowhere NEAR as hype as the movie version.😅🤣 Still love this song with every fiber of my soul though.💕
Not gonna lie, I'm still thinking it's one of the worst crimes 4kids has commited (bc in my country, Digimon arrived with Butter-fly, its original theme), but it's catchy as heck. Now I can't get if out of my head
I realize that this song is 90% puns. But no one can tell me that "digi know it was coming?" Isnt a masterpiece of a line *chef's kiss*
