Regent Park is a neighbourhood in Toronto, Canada. It is one of the most dangerous neighbourhoods in Toronto due to its overall high crime rate. It has a reputation for poverty in Toronto. The city’s worst neighbourhoods are the ones that have reported a high number of incidents. Toronto has many safe neighbourhoods and amenities for everyone however, there are still some areas that people tend to avoid.

I worked here for several years and everything was absolutely fine. I can't say that this is such a dangerous neighbourhood.
Nice tour of Regent Park.
However, as someone that knows Regent Park really well, I would not consider it a dangerous neighbourhood, and certainly not the most dangerous neighbourhood in Toronto. I spend a lot of time there and I feel safe outside at any time of the day or night.
Regent Park has been under redevelopment by the City over the past 15 or so years as evidenced by the many newer highrises and townhouses. It is no longer just a low income community but a mixed use community. Somewhere around 50% of the newer housing is rent geared to income apartments with the rest being condos, other rental apartments, a retirement residence etc.
Over the next decade and a half, all of the low rise brown brick buildings will be replaced with more rent geared to income units, condos, rental units and commercial enterprises.
It is considered by many to be a desirable place to live. It has a large aquatic centre, an all weather athletic/soccer field, an outdoor basketball court, a running track, skating ring, community centre, park and other facilities. The area has two pharmacies, two banks, multiple fast food outlets, several supermarkets. It is also on a streetcar route and within walking distance to downtown. .
The title of the video does a disservice to the area.
Enjoyed the explore of Regent Park. Every city has an area to avoid if you not familiar and street smart. Glad to learn about this part of Toronto. Cheers to you👍

Very nice video of Regent Park neighborhood. Having recently retired from working many many years in Regent Park. I can tell you that it is a beautiful area. And truth be told there is violence in the area. However, Regent Park does not even rank in the top 10 most dangerous neighbourhoods in Toronto currently. According to statistics, the number one most dangerous neighbourhood is Parma Court.

This area was much worse back in the day. A lot of the slums have been torn down to make way for gentrification. Lots of new buildings and townhouses have improved the area greatly.

It doesn't look so bad.
But unfortunately these neighborhoods exist in all cities. Where poorer people live, there is usually more crime. In Germany, these are the neighborhoods where many non-Germans live.

Think a lot of places have areas that are not that good
It still looks progressive place so many buildings ,the road looks nice with trees surrounded the entire place , but looks creepy to especially to first timer to visit there the streets looks so silent and barely notice if anybody would harm anybody ,does all the streets have cctv?
Regent park was never a dangerous neighborhood even before it was gentrified and this is coming from someone that has lived their pretty much my whole life.
It had many times higher rates of all sorts of crime than the city average. Tons of drugs, violence, drunkenness, fencing of stolen goods, break-ins and organized crime of various sorts.
Better than the worst areas of American cities, I'd agree with that.
South side the dark side.
I walk around Regent Park all the time and it is not Dangerous at all.
