You always hear about Ghosts not working, but it's nice to see Ghosts not working for once.
Sure, but it wasn't the greatest attempt. Mihu was really far behind.
Ghosts work, its just that most Terrans try to use them when they are a billion years behind and then complain about how they dont work. This terran was dead since minute 6, no matter what he did as a choice of strategy, unless protoss slipped in some way. Just too many retarded mistakes in a row for a "high level terran".

And you say "high level Terran" almost like you're doubting it. Mihu is literally one of the best terrans in the world. He competes in international tournaments and wins them. Who are you?

im just a dude in a basement but ive always wondered if Ghosts would actually see usage if they had like, 60HP? 70? Maybe make them cost 25 more minerals and then give them 80 like a hydra?
damn that ghost lockdown was worth a try, but losing so many tanks early on was just to much
I don't know about Ghosts against Carriers, but I really want to see Terrans using a few patrolling Ghosts in the base to Lockdown incoming Arbiters.
You can reveal the map in the diplomacy menu (alt+z) if you want to talk about the terrain before the players scout the area.

at 2:40 you said vultures dont fit through the gap but at 13:10 we can see vultuers going through that gap
Mihu fucked up the game long ago before the ghosts.
How appropriate, Mihu does the Artosis classic! When faced with powerful aoe, he _still_ sieges his tanks in a bunch ;)
if there was ever a moment that points for style should be awarded, this is the moment ... i loved the fact that he knew he was behind but still cranked the crazy gear up to 11 should be awarded something :D
Solid matchup. This is refreshing on all those one-sided series.
Love these experimental builds with D web and ghosts, and the speedlot +1 into doubble SG corsair from last series. It's probably hard to make it work at the very highest level, but some of the very best players can probably craft some very optimized and specific builds for important games in ASL.
It really felt like the window for harasing was closed when he had 3 tanks with siege mode out and i think mihu just felt too save at this moment. Bonyth just went in and punished not sieging/not paying attention. Amazing game either way i loved d-web usage and early tanks snipes
In one of the games where Light made Bisu look like a B Protoss he used the Wraiths to snipe observers and then lockdown to stop other units.
You know Bisu made Flash famous when he got cheesed by vultures. It is not surprising he is hard countered by s tier terran players.

that was tough to watch. Mihu was in an unwinnable spot losing that many tanks on top of being delayed from the first goon+zealot. It was a little frustrating to watch because he made the same mistake several times in a row and especially against bonyth, someone who relies so heavily on micro, was just puzzling.
Mihu had a bad game there, got crushed early on by 2 units for being greedy and then had 2 tanks picked off for free because he didn't siege them. After that goes and takes a bad trade with a push out losing even more tanks. Bonyth was probably laughing this whole game.
D web Is amazing. It worked so well. Bonyth such a pro.
I would have loved to see those ghosts give a win for mihu.
Ghost is the best terrans unit. You should give them a try arty.
No, arty just never scouts and does the same build and wonders why the opponent does something different than the exact build day9 talked about and blames map hacks.

Can you imagine anything more stupid than using corsairs as meat shields to soak up turret fire during shuttle drops? But this is what most protoss players do instead of getting D-web.
I think this video shows just what D-web is capable of. A few seconds of good micro with D-web can swing the game entirely in your favor.
Same with lockdown, but the problem is most Terran players don't know how to use it. You are supposed to wait for the enemy to come to you instead of rushing out to try and lock down carriers and bc's. Ideally you have the ghosts split off to the side, and only send them in after the armies have engaged - when goliaths have started firing on interceptors for example. Also, you don't have to build a lot of them - even a couple of ghosts will change the other side's play and deter unchecked aggression. Leave a couple in your expansions and when the carriers come to raid, lock one down. You will see a change in strategy immediately.
That was absolutely sick! Two unusual units/abilities in the same game was super fun to see! Grrat cast!

They were both so tense at the end that they both stopped macro
if you are terran fighting protoss, EMP from science vessel is your friend, it reduces a group of protoss to half their health, stripping out their shield like bare naked for easy poking

Locking down a couple of Carriers seems reasonable. But losing that many tanks plus DWeb was too much for his army.
Ghosts are cool units, essential to the campaign, given a lot of attention by devs, capable of launching the most powerful weapon in the game, the peak of Terran tech . . . I just wish they were good at all in melee. They're so freaking bad.

I would have liked the 3rd base super early after the Terran defended & he saw a robotics facility.
Haven't seen past +1 Terran Weapons started.
Then he had the potential of taking something ridiculous like 5 bases at least as he had observers EVEN in Mihu's base. Just get greedy and force the small Terran army to attack 1 direction (top or far left) and you countre-attack and win... enough carriers come home with reinforcements being produced and you'll clean up that army + do good damage to Mihu's mining base/Economy.

Mihu just never sieged his tanks that was why everything bad happened over and over.
you should have added it is not working for the current players because slayer locked the fuck down the entire bw scene in his time :)

I wonder if wraiths in critical number would have worked at sniper those low number of corsairs. I suppose wraiths consume to much gas that could go elsewhere.

@@oldscoolest Mihu, didn't have any detectors. I doubt he could've keep up with scanning energy, compared to how cheap it is to produce 5 observers.

Again, you need the energy and time for cloak and lockdown to work, which are what Mihu did not have

I wonder if you could afford to add ghosts for nukes to pressure bases like he was without commiting your tanks to be so bunched up
Considering how expensive nukes are, you’d be basically sacrificing like 2 to 3 tanks, when you’re already behind in tank count.
1 marine bunker is the dumbest thing ever. Almost as dumb as the "takes up supply" reasoning.

He took a risk because he was really far behind. Don't read anything extra into it.
It seemed more like desperation than experimentation. It was certainly NOT the plan to get run over in the early game...with his Factories so late he knew he couldn't get the Goliath count needed to fight the Carriers and Gateway units.
