No such thing as a vampire. But based on Western lore, vampires only drank the blood of the living, not the dead since the dead no longer have flowing, warm blood. Don't really know what was truly causing the scare back then, but it definitely was not a blood-sucker issue!
I was at the funeral home for the first story. It was a lot of BS. The accused guy was a soccer buddy of mine. He just thought it was cool to kiss the deceased so he did that to all deceased he visited. It was late and the woman at the casket was just too tired and just imagining things. Think about it from a common sense standpoint, why would a vampire try sucking blood out of a body which was already drained by the mortician and had no blood left.
