I cant believe its so much hate on this comments. These is one of the most difficult and important job ever. We all had some very ill family and whish there was a human organ to replace the one who was ill and many times we could not have It because among other causes there is not enough doctora trained on these. Some one should do that work and we all should be thankfull because of these doctors. I am an ICU doctor and a mom and I made both works and these one is hard, there is not cuddles from anyone, no kids laugh,it is totally different from a housewife roll, both are important but these one is unique. So proud of these doctor and her sacriffice, so sad about many comments.
Sorry for my Engish, is not my native language.

I just watched the video of you doing your first cholecystectomy. You were so excited by the procedure! How fantastic that you are in a hepatobiliary fellowship. Six weeks ago I had a cholecystectomy and hepatectomy. I am so grateful that I had an amazing surgical team. Thank you for what you do!

I am awaiting a kidney transplant and it scares me to think that the surgeon could be so sleep deprived. I know it’s not your fault but it really sets people up for mistakes. Is it a shortage of transplant surgeons that causes this? I think you are AMAZING and I’m very thankful people like you exist.

Another enthusiastic episode, We have a very well established cadaveric programme here in Sri Lanka and most people who benifit from it don't know the value of it, the dedication and sacrifice of the Transplant surgeons and the team, most of our Surgeons travel by road for retrieve the organs drive back and operate.
Whish their life would be made easy and given good returns!

Do you find that you’re by yourself / alone a lot during these longs shifts? The doctors at my hospital usually sit by the nurses station bc they get lonely in their lounges 😆

I’m an organ driver in the uk it’s not uncommon for us and surgeons to be out for 40 hrs at a time. Especially when the liver is split and then transported to another hospital and then transplanted. Poor surgeons will not sleep for 60 hours unless they are in the car
