These trends (especially Maximalism) are rather self-indulgent and based on the boredom or artistic interests of the design industry. I challenge a customer being able to decipher what product a maximalist poster is actually advertising, or to tell them apart from other maximalist brands in any meaningful way. It maybe looks great but isn’t communication integral to graphic design?
I’m an elliotisacoolguy fan who as many of us has grown a bit of a distaste for these kinds of videos, but genuinely it was really good and helpful until the vintage design segment, which is on literally every one of these videos every year
Nah, sustainability inclined people know greenwashing when they see it. Its getting obvious brands are slapping on a green logo or font to fake looking eco friendly, well done for encouraging greenwaahing further though but i guess it "doesnt matter if you personally believe in sustainability or not" 🙄
Possibly in a long way away from now. But until then, human designers are still needed. The low tier clients (wanting to pay below $50 for a logo as eg), will likely turn to Ai. but mid and high tier clients will want human based design. Ai cannot even use typography properly at the moment.
