just saw this band in Irvine Ca. I really wanted to see them in 2000. but I had to wait 22 years until I saw an amazing show by them. well worth it! :)
thank you so much for posting this. the anniversary only played my city twice and both times were after ‘your majesty’ (which is my favorite of their albums by a hair), so i never got to see them play during the rentals-y/synth pop days.
Love this time period of the Anniversary. All music eventually gets old. When I recycle I go too designing. I wonder if these guys played in a straight forward punk band?

Psychedelic drugs are very powerful substances. In the context of a professional touring band like the Anniversary, they can change the band forever. They spent so much time together being creative and in a van, or in motel rooms, or on the stage. As they honed their skills on their respective instruments, the possibilities of their creative potential waxed. Unencumbered about what anyone else thought, the band went fearlessly into uncharted territory. The first album is slick, well-produced, and poppy. 'Her Majesty' is harder rock, more organic, strange, and timeless. If you hear 'Designing a Nervous Breakdown,' you can pin what time period it was from. 'Her Majesty' could be from the early 1970's or from today. I believe its creativity speaks for itself.

I always joked that Designing was for high school me, and Your Majesty was for adult me.
@@eltonjohnson This the perfect way to put it.
awesome set
This is more like it! Loved Anniversary when they sounded like this, it's too bad they went all crunchy grooves on us.
I love both of the albums.
35:10 for D in Detroit
some heroes don't wear capes
This starts with the superior version of To Never Die Young which was the best song The Anniversary ever put out. The 7" version.
i LOVE the album version. rothrock and schnapf were the perfect producers for that album.
I still have my "Curse of Venom Tour" shirt.
