The discrepancy between the polls and the betting market stem from the fact that we do not elect our chancellor directly. We elect the parliament and the chancellor is then elected by the members of the parliament. Effectively Merz is just slightly less popular than his party right now, while Habeck is quite a bit more popular than his party. But Habeck could only become chancellor if he manages to get a majority (from his and other parties that would support him) in the parlaiment which is rather unlikely. Therefore he only gets about 1% on the betting platform.

5:03 This news is about the Deutsche Bundesbank ("German Federal Bank", I.e. the central bank of Germany), *not* the "Deutsche Bank" (which is a private corporation, and something very different than the Bundesbank)
@@MiaMerkur Yep, the Deutsche Bank corporation has been credibly accused of laundering money for Russian oligarchs, and has bailed out Donald Trump from looming bankruptcies in the past many times when other banks would give him money anymore. That the German government still didn't take action against Deutsche Bank is beyond me.
In regards to fireworks: they are forbidden in Germany, unless an exception is granted by authorities. Those exceptions could be for a city for a big event. But private persons can also get a permission eg for a party. However, for Silvester (New Years Eve) a general countrywide permission is granted to everyone. Which doesn't make sense considering the ban the other 364 days of the year. A simple solution would be - to keep the tradition of scaring bad ghosts away with fireworks for the new year - centralised and organized fireworks from the cities. People who want to see the fireworks can go and watch, people who don't want stay away. There's no reasonable point of allowing the public to freely use that stuff at all.
As someone who lives in a small town, and is physically disabled and immunocompromised, I'm not about to drive to the next city at New Year's Even where there might be some "official fireworks" and stand around in a crowd where the chance to get injured or infected is high, just to see some fireworks, if I can buy a battery of sparkly lights and set them off at midnight with my family, then go back inside.
If the rocket guy didnt announce to leave the country, he would be out of jail after getting his data. But now they have a reason to keep him due to a realistic risk of evading conviction
Another downside to fireworks: They startle wild animals in the middle of the winter, make them run away in a panic and might cause them to freeze to death.
Pros of fireworks: They're fun. For some people. Most of them male and under 30 yrs old. It's a tradition. Well, it's for about 100 years. Cons: They hurt people (see the group above plus uninvolved spectators), they are bad for the environment and wildlife, they leave massive waste to be cleaned (public costs), they scare pets to death, and people as well.
5 people died because of fireworks this new year's eve and more than 360 got seriously injured. Not to mention all the things that burned or even burned down (e.g. garbage containers).
Idiots who didn't follow basic safety precautions for handlign fireworks have always gotten injured in the past. It's just that 1. in past decades if someone lost fingers to a "Böller" because he was an idiot, this was his own fault, and people weren't hysterically calling for firework bans, 2. in past decades there were way less hooligans who aimed fireworks into crowds. Now there are mobs of young men in cities who lack even that common decency and sanity. Twenty years ago no-one would have attacked ambulances and paramedics or firefighters or police in Germany. _That_ is what needs to stop. Not fireworks.
Just for the interest of the people around here. The guy with the rocket will most likely be charged for property damage and a sever case of arson. Maybe even attempted battery, but not sure about that. The sever case of arson (either in an attempt or a full crime, depending if anything actually caught on fire) is what will most likely define the punishment. Catching a residential building on fire has a mandatory minimum of a year in prison. Considering the circumstances and his action after the crime, he will most likely not end up with the minimum.
9:37 Volker Pispers once said: "80% of the German voters vote against their own interests". Well, isn't that a beautiful example? 80% of people want firework to be banned and the very same 80% are mostly voting for political parties that would NEVER in a MILLION years get the idea to ban firework.
7:28 Not that this idiot could have known but according to many reports that was a kid's bedroom. Luckily noone was in that room at the moment but in other rooms of the apartment. That way nobody was harmed and they were able to put out the fire immediatly after the explosion and throw the hot rocket out of the window. Probably the parents were just airing out the room before the air outside got too stinky and smoggy from all the firework's gunpowder smell.
7:45 The firerwork went in the childrens room. This guy is a criminal and it was no mistake. He wanted to do damages and he was lucky that the child wasn't in the room. He needs jail time but what I see often this criminals get away with a slap on their hand.
9:30 It’s not that 82% of the population want a ban. It’s 82% of people who are interested in the discussion and are participating in polls that want a ban. People that are against a ban or neutral about it just don’t usually read articles like that or participate in these polls and petitions
82 million people in Germany, but ONLY 2 million put their name on the petition to ban it. The "influencer" who send his rocket into the flat's window (setting fire to the living space of the tenants) later claimed HE did not know, how to use such rockets. If you don't know, just leave it alone! NOT knowing does not exempt you from punishment (if something bad happenes). Big firework is only for adults (who read the instructions first and then behave responsibly). The stick at the end of the rocket is for achoring it in the ground (or put it into a heavy bottle of champaign) so that is goes straight up into the sky to show its firework there (not a handle to direkt the rocket like a weapon against other people). The best "racist thing" to do, while selling fireworks: ask the buyer to show his latest school certificate - even if they are in their mid 50s (on top there is always the date of birth stated) - and if that certificate was NOT issued in Germany, you just can't buy that dangerous stuff - it is a tradition for this country to make firework - keep the responsibility for it to its citizens.
Kempten is a city with a population of about 71,000 in the western Allgäu region in the Bavarian district of Swabia. It is one of the oldest cities in Germany; it was mentioned by the Greek geograph Strabon as Celtic oppidum (= fortified settlement) Kambodounon (in a book written before 18 AD). In the Roman campaign started around 15 BC it was conquered and became the Roman city Cambodunum, which was during the first and second century the capital of the Roman province of Raetia (at the end of the second century this function was taken over by nearby Augusta Vindelicum, nowadays known as Augsburg, founded in 15 BC as Roman castrum (fort)).
06:00 "Where is Neukölln? Ah, just outside Berlin." Nope, that statement is a little over a hundret years outdated. Neukölln is part of Berlin since 1920. And other than 'The Spandauer ', people of Neukölln have accepted their fate 😉.
Like most cities with millions of inhabitants, they are incorporated small towns and villages, nothing established that would give the impression of a unified city. Berlin in particular, which is hardly older than many US cities, conveys this district impression. Mirabeau so aptly described it as a swamp with a palace around 1780.
@@KTanit yeah. And nowadays its a swamp with a yearly reenactment of "The Purge" movies on new years eve. The event is getting more entertaining every year. Berlin is already like a PvP server on normal days. On new years even the admins (cops, medics, firefighters) are fair game.
So... instead of asking an employee of the supermarket with the deposit machine, they asked Reddit? What a time to be alive. Edit: He doesn't think it's racist. He tries to claim the victim card.
4:04 Some Pfand nerd info: Cans (Aluminum) have a solid bar below the logo and bottles (PET) have just two squares. This is how the machine separates them.
In Germany, we do not directly elect the Chancellor. We elect parties that then get seats in the Bundestag. And the Bundestag representatives then elect the Chancellor. Therefore, there is often a difference between which Chancellor people want and the probability that someone will become Chancellor.
Fun fact about Germany... Most Firefighters are Volunteers... We have paid firefighters in big cities and sometimes big companies have their own firefighters, but the most firebrigades are Volunteer Brigades... 😅
And the reason why they are against bans is because more people will get them illegally, which is more dangerous. All the big bombs are not legal for a normal person
3:14 the difference is easily explained: the chancellor is voted for by the parliament and usually connected to, if not leading, the biggest faction in there. people would like a chancellor Habeck more than Weidel but the Greens are likely to get fewer votes than the AfD, which is likely to get fewer than the Christian Union.
They're not outright banned, but if you use them in a product you have to add a warning to the label stating "may have an adverse effect on activity and attention in children".
another point is, that the fireworks aren't used for entertainment anymore, in some cases people bombard the cops, firefighters, civilians and each other with it and this is rutheless.
Jules der 2 has a series about our state's. Where the fireworks situation is also mentioned. I can recommend his videos but I must say the series is not finished yet only part 2/4 has released.

And the betting markets want a German Chancellor in their Favor rather than a Politician in favor of Human Rights and agains exploitation. (Even though, thats not what Habek really seems to stand for)
No it's just how proportional representation works. The CDU leads in the polls and a coalition with them is almost inevitable, unless the SPD, Greens and AfD would join forces (which would be ludicrous).
3:49 The problem why the deposit machine will not accept a particular bottle is that it is not listed in the machine's database (usually internet updated) unless the deposit logo or barcode is damaged. You can demand that the bottle be accepted by an employee. Stores that sell the same type of container (PET bottle/metal can) must accept ALL disposable deposit containers of the same type by law.
9:27 the least controversial stand would be banning fire crackers, those grenade alikes without shrapnell, followed by adding rockets to the ban. the other types of fireworks (mostly batteries) are way less controversial as they basically never are used against people and similarly to rockets look good.
Yes, those square ground batteries that fire a variety of sparkly lights a meters high for like a minute time, they are heavy and would be nearly impossible to use to attack other people... more likely if some hooligan held them horizontally, either thexy would stop working or he would get burned.
i mean, they could be used against people but you'd have trouble hiding even only 1 on your person, making it obvious who to look out for in a crowd of protesters or by themselves. on the other hand you easily can carry a hidden dozen or so class d firecrackers with you in normal clothing and/or several rockets under a slightly longer jacket. and the potential of mutually injuring yourself and others instead of easily targeting only other people likely would scare people away from using them like that.
I'm against an outright ban on fireworks. That would 1) strengthen the already flourishing DIY-scene, increasing danger, 2) More people would defy the ban and buy from countries with more dangerous products, such as Poland 3) It doesn't change the bad apples intent on causing trouble - they will find other ways Restrictions should be put in place instead: More safe zones, more searches and checkpoints, harsher punishments, making it easier to report offenders & more...

I am all for the firecracker ban, a few years ago they might’ve killed me because of some reckless kids. An old friend’s family and me went together to collect candies at Halloween, when we went back to the flat (I had a sleepover at her’s although we are neighbors), on the way we needed to pass a park which still to this day has no lights/lamps, some kids ran at us probably the age of 15, at the time they were older than us and threw active firecrackers at us, they were very close though didn’t cause any damage to us but before they could throw more at us (they were in a group) the father of my friend chased them away while wearing a clown mask which was a bit funny to me. At the time I couldn’t comprehend the situation but over a few weeks I came to realize that it might’ve just cost my life if I stood exactly next to the fire crackers. Sadly this is common here.

the Deutsche Bank and the Deutsche Bundesbank are 2 different banks. the Deutsche Bank is a normal private bank. the Deutsche Bundesbank is the central bank of Germany with headquarters in Frankfurt am Main and part of the European System of Central Banks
4:31 That's the Bundesbank (federal bank), not the Deutsche Bank. They are different. The Deutsche Bundesbank is a state institution like the Federal Reserve Bank. They give the government credits, control the value of the Euro, print money and distribute cash. You may need their service when changing money from one currency to another. Especially changing old Deutsche Mark bank notes you found in your late grandparents matress into Euros. They are the only ones accepting invalid bank notes. But typically a normal guy doesn't come in direct contact with them. The Deutsche Bank on the other hand is a stock corporation that gives credits to private persons and companies, manages their customer's money, helps you invest in the stock market - a normal bank which also has branches in other contries. So not using fax anymore is a big deal for them because for other state and federal institutions it's still the most modern communication technology to connect them to the outside world they own. 😅😂
Imagine making a youtube video talking about the american elections, while never having heard the name of any of the candidates or their parties before
The Deutsche Bundesbank is not Deutsche Bank. The Deutsche Bundesbank or Federal Bank is the central bank of Germany, headquartered in Frankfurt am Main and part of the European System of Central Banks. It is a legal entity under public law with direct federal control and is part of the indirect public administration. With total assets of over 2.5 trillion euros, the Bundesbank is the fourth largest central bank in the world. Deutsche Bank is an internationally active banking group based in Germany and the largest German commercial bank. Even if you as a private person can have contact with the Deutsche Bundesbank in some cases (for example to exchange damaged cash or if you still find D-Mark cash somewhere), the Bundesbank does not have the same customer traffic as the Deutsche Bank as a commercial bank (where you open an account, make transfers, withdraw money or apply for a loan).
The poll you refere to originates from the public broadcasting company ZDF. They broadcast a show called „PolitBarometer“. One of the key features of this show is the so called „Sonntagsfrage“ (Sundayquestion). Here, the participants are invited to tell, whom they would vote for Bundeskanzler, if the election would be next Sunday. As other commentators have allready pointed out, that Germans only vote the members of the Bundestag (Parliament), this is to some extent a hypothetical question. Yet, you get more emotional answers, more depending of the likability of the candidate. Robert Habeck is quite good looking (at least compated to the other candidates) and he is often favourably depicted by the Media. Furthermore, the employees of the public broadcasting system (as well as the good mayority of the traditional Media) tend to be more or less „left-winged“. So, seeing Habeck second place in the reace to the Kanzleramt, is no big deal. And partly whishful thinking.
The influencer shooting the rocket didn't go to another country. He is German resident. He just has an arabic background and just stupidly and recklessly fire the rocket int a livingroom window and filmed it, risking peoples lives and health.

Which did seem to be the initial point, of his attempt to defend himself. If hes "unlucky", hell go to jail...
I don't understand it, I work in the customer service department of a bank (back office) and process faxes every day, which are then laboriously scanned in at the head office and uploaded to our CRM system and half of them I can't even use for processing because the quality is worse than my drunken made nokia cell phone photos with 1.3mpx cam when I was 18 🤣 But also a lot of communication between banks, for example when changing accounts ("Kontowechselservice"), is still mostly by fax (but then the quality is at least good).
You have mixed up the Deutsche Bank and the Deutsche Bundesbank lol The Deutsche Bundesbank (German Federal Bank) is the central bank of Germany, while the regular Deutsche Bank is just a big Bank. Though its not as important as for example the Fed, because in the Euro countries the European Central Bank is the central bank which decides on the monetary policy. Tbh i dont even know what the actual tasks of the national central banks (like the Bundesbank) of Euro countries are.
you vote for the party itself, elected members of the congress however give their vote for who the chancellor will be, so technically speaking, the chancellor could be done also by the second strongest party, however that happening is very unlikely
We vote for parties, not for chancellor candidates. Currently, the CDU is the strongest party with around 32%, followed by the AfD at 19%, the SPD at 17%, and then the Greens at 12%. This makes it almost impossible for Robert Habeck to become chancellor, as the coalition party with the most votes usually appoints the chancellor. Nevertheless, many Germans consider him the best candidate. For context: he is currently the Vice Chancellor.
That Polymarket poll you showed... of course it was way off... Polymarket is a crypto currency trader, so not really trustworthy in political polling...

5:03 This news is about the Deutsche Bundesbank ("German Federal Bank", I.e. the central bank of Germany), *not* the "Deutsche Bank" (which is a private corporation, and something very different than the Bundesbank)
Yes, it is a very big difference. Bundesbank is neutral, Deutsche Bank is bad, morally.

Cons: They hurt people (see the group above plus uninvolved spectators), they are bad for the environment and wildlife, they leave massive waste to be cleaned (public costs), they scare pets to death, and people as well.
They cost our healthcare system a lot each year!

Exactly. All these are the reasons why I haven't bought any fireworks for years now
5 people died because of fireworks this new year's eve and more than 360 got seriously injured. Not to mention all the things that burned or even burned down (e.g. garbage containers).
Idiots who didn't follow basic safety precautions for handlign fireworks have always gotten injured in the past. It's just that
1. in past decades if someone lost fingers to a "Böller" because he was an idiot, this was his own fault, and people weren't hysterically calling for firework bans,
2. in past decades there were way less hooligans who aimed fireworks into crowds. Now there are mobs of young men in cities who lack even that common decency and sanity. Twenty years ago no-one would have attacked ambulances and paramedics or firefighters or police in Germany. _That_ is what needs to stop. Not fireworks.
I would prefer if we have private discu-ssion!!!

Kommt hin.😂
and the 82% voted are all berlin citizens :O (this is clearly a joke)
The best "racist thing" to do, while selling fireworks: ask the buyer to show his latest school certificate - even if they are in their mid 50s (on top there is always the date of birth stated) - and if that certificate was NOT issued in Germany, you just can't buy that dangerous stuff - it is a tradition for this country to make firework - keep the responsibility for it to its citizens.

the least controversial stand would be banning fire crackers, those grenade alikes without shrapnell, followed by adding rockets to the ban. the other types of fireworks (mostly batteries) are way less controversial as they basically never are used against people and similarly to rockets look good.

It is a legal entity under public law with direct federal control and is part of the indirect public administration.

There are special purpose AIs trained on GeoGuessr than can play fairly well. So I would assume one could train an AI on satellite images too. But that had to explicitly be done.

The chancelor will be elected by the biggest party. The CDU is the biggest party by far, so the chances are high that Merz will become chancelor. But if you ask people who would be a good chancelor, Habeck is in higher regard than current Scholz or Weidel.
Really? He didnt really do a good job as a minister
@@sparten6 He is the only candidate who also reflects critically on himself and also says that he has taken too much of a back seat in the coalition and has made too many compromises. Before I vote for Merz or Weidel, my hands will rotten off and even if I don't like everything about the Greens' policies, Habeck was the only candidate in the "Lage der Nation" podcast and other interviews to have really well thought-out concepts including financing ideas, while Scholz came across as extremely arrogant in the interview ("I didn't make any mistakes") and Merz is very vague about all financing and is simply fishing for votes from the right-wing camp, which I find really annoying.
@@sparten6 Not sure, he always had to fight against his colegues from the FDP. His law for new heating was heavily critizised by everybody but now all want to keep it and all say it must come.
The chancelor is not elected by the biggest party but by the whole parliament. So it is possible that two or more other parties form a coalition with over 50% of the seats and agree on another candidate and vote this candidate into office.
1:00 The bars in this statistic show the answers to the statement "My preferred chancellor would be...". As we don't elect our chancellor directly, but the composition of the Bundestag you can't derive anything from this stat. It would be valid for a CDU/Green coalition as well as for a CDU/SPD coalition. The only thing you can say that IF (and this is a massive "If") a coalition of SPD and Green would make the majority of the next Bundestag, then people would prefer a Chancellor Habeck (by the way, he's pronounced HAbeck) over a chancellor Scholz, though some of the because they were dissatisfied with Habeck as minister for economy.
2:35 Wow! An American actress spills Hollywood Trick for slim body? I have to learn more about it🤣🤣
3:09 Habeck's

There is a stress on the A in Habeck with a pronounced pause towards the second syllable. Pronounce it more like you would: Har-beck or Huh-beck…
Kalauer: Habeck net verstanden.

in fact, the survey values do not seem to be up to date (0:50) the official surveys currently say a clearly different result:
1.Alice weidel 24%
2.Friedrich Merz 20%
3.Robert Habeck 14%
4. olaf Scholz 15%
Source:Bild Date of survey:18./19.12.2024
Unfortunately, I could not find a more recent survey in which all candidates are represented because Dr. Weidel is not included in most surveys

Hes checking out the first 6-7 days of the year and he calls it a sllow week. Nothing happens in Europe days right after Christmas and new year. Its not like in America where being nuts have no time frame... Ots always there. Thays why you've had 4-5 maybe 6 incidents with killings and shootings and whatnot. Again, this is not the norm. Even for a country that has shootings...

1.4 million people signed the firecracker ban petition (me included). Children from our school were seriously hurt. It's still not banned. It's outrageous.
I think it was 1.9 million when they handed the petition over.
@MortimerFolchert I think you're right.
1.4 million are not the majority of the people in Germany. It is only 1.66%
@tomsite2901uk It was no referendum. It was a petition.
