I attended this concert at the forum in London and it was one of the best experience ever, very different than every set you'll ever listen 👂. Also I would like to say that Theo is the best music player ever.
It takes a Talant to be a good DJ. It takes good work to be a good performer. And it takes God to be a musician, being able to perform . Theo has it all
Elecronic Beats TV #24 - 12.08.2014 Theo Parrish needs no introduction - suffice it to say that the name stands for quality. The passionate Detroit DJ and producer has already made a previous appearance on Slices - th-cam.com/video/-5USZQ97l9s/w-d-xo.html These days, Parrish is out on the road with his live band. Backed by musicians like Amp Fiddler, Akwasi Mensah, Duminie DePorres and Myele Manzanza, he has adapted several of his Sound Signature releases for the concert stage. Electronic Beats TV caught up with Parrish at the Pitch Festival in Amsterdam, where his Teddy’s Get Down tour made a stop.
Electronic Beats hey making an trailer of the tour i was on that you guys got footage of. Wanted to know i could use some of that footage to add to the trailer of mine. Im one of the dancers on that tour. Love the work you guys got of it. Of course credit will be giving as well.
Depends on how you do it. And he should know. His view on sampling is mostly about respect but it should be about the music. The remarks that it's different when somebody else does it to you says it all. Music is all about sharing and copying. And sure put paint where there is no paint. But most of the times that doesn't really mean you push the musical envelope on a global musical scale. But everything changes once you get paid 3/4/5 k for a dj set and are being treated like an artist. Then the 19 year old boy pushing the envelopes of what is 'right' and 'wrong' in music is not there anymore. And that's where the actual magic happens. And that's also why he doesn't plays 15 minute of avant garde be bop any more. He wants the respect as artist now. Instead of i don't care about your respect for me. 'I play the fuck i want' like he used to be. BUT Footwork is a great record and his live shows add something to music scene. But i grew up on his djsets where he turned rooms into a tribal jungle.
just went out to buy his new CD, 'Free Myself' expecting it to be around £15 maximum. £24.99! screw you, thats just nothing but greed. Stayed on the shelf.
What's wrong with the dancers? They can not even move. Everything they do is off balance. Part of being able to dance is to look as though you are in control.
Theo is a one of a kind - To me he has it all: Charisma, knowledge, wisdom and loads of soul.

I like the way he is talking about music. He has vision and it's complete. It's a kind of great modern music philosophy. Thank you Theo.
Amp Fidler in the BG glueing it all together nice :D

Electronic Beats Thanks a lot!
Beautiful thinking & feeling! ✨ Whatupdoe Theo 🕺🏻
Love the energy and vibe of the crowd, and the overall atmosphere.
То, что Тео понял насколько важное писать своё , не используя семплирования - это важнейший шаг в развитии. Музыка группы вживую звучит прекрасно !
Solitary Flight sounds amazing with a band
Sky walking as well
Great interview. It's good to see Parrish is still as insightful and an interesting interviewee as ever.
love this guy!
I'm about to see him work tonight, yay me
Love his view on sampling.

They should make all musician go through the reverse of this- make them become house Dj's.
just went out to buy his new CD, 'Free Myself' expecting it to be around £15 maximum. £24.99! screw you, thats just nothing but greed. Stayed on the shelf.

The hyped up dancers are so necessary. Big part of the house culture that is missing nowadays. Salute to the whole idea.
