I love the way BALD S plays; I love his style. Every time he plays us a song, I try to play it, then I come up with some ideas for my own playing.
I've been looking at these forever, and I may have to pull the trigger on that badass pink color. Sounds amazing too. Bald shredder never fails to deliver tasty old school metal style riffs on these jams. Love it 🤘
I was finding all of these Firefly guitar reviews a bit unbelievable.
How is all of this possible!?
So, on a whim I pushed the button on Guitar Garden.
I just got the newest offering of the FF338 in Chameleon Green. Absolutely wild color changes in the light from a beautiful green to blue to purple to an almost eggplant shade. Not just the top, but the back, sides, and neck. This looks like a very high end paint job. The body and "f" hole bindings are crisp and clean. It has locking tuners, a bone nut, stainless steel frets with hemispherical ends, alnico 5 pickup magnets, a small pin ABR style bridge, and full size pots. Right out of the box the set up was great (high E: 1/16", low E: 3/32". The neck had a smidge of relief and the intonation was spot on) - just tune and play.
I plugged it into my Bartel Roseland and was very impressed.
I don’t have to do anything to this guitar. Wow.
Well, I've seen it, so now I believe it.
But for $180, I don't know how it's all possible.
It's mind blowing!
Huge improvements over the older models. Previously I had always changed the old monophonic ceramic pickups. Not anymore! These new Alnico 5 Pickups are awesome!!! A few of the new LP's also feature a brand new heel design! Great review. Rock on! \m/
I picked up two older FF's a few years ago. They were garbage ... starting with the horrible pups. Hoping the new runs are better.

I, too, just got my first Firefly, similar to yours but in black. Frankly, I couldn't be happier with it!
I'm glad they are looking good again. Maybe its time for me to check them out again.
From everything I've seen/heard, they are always improving the guitars.
New "Pro" line of FF guitars INCLUDE really good LOCKING TUNERS for maybe another $20. I own 50 FF guitars. :)

I have two FFLPS myself, the goldtop and the ' green lizard' finish one. Did alot of mods, love them! Nice color choice too James!

Just got my Firefly FFLPS Elite In Matte Black with orange racing strip and i absolutely love it, for the price it's way better than i expected it to be
I got one and liked the way it played so much i upgraded everything
Graphtech ratio tuners
Tonepros bridge and tail piece
Jb/jazz set
Pots and switch
And since it's the buckethead ripoff I put white tesi killswitches.
Was it necessary? No but I was fun working on it. If I ever get another I'll take all my stuff off lol

I have several Firefly’s and love them. I got the cream one that looks like Randy Rhodes. I changed out the knobs and the poker chip and it looks almost identical to his 74 Les Paul, it rocks. I just got this pink one I call Strawberry Milkshake and those frets rock! I just ordered the FFLS which is very similar to the B & G guitar for way less. In my option you can’t go wrong with the Firefly guitars! Loved the song🎸🎸🤘🏻🤘🏻

Firefly is getting better and better. What it looks like is that they take feedback, improve things, and come back with a new edition of the same model. So better frets, better pickups, better detailing, etc.
That guitar has a Valentines Day look to it. I'd buy it. It sounds pretty sweet.
Well Congratulations Mr Bald Shredder, yah I'd like to buy and try to get one of those Newer LP Firefly guitars, since I don't have any LP's in my possession. I only have 3 Epiphone SG guitars, but I like SG's because they are light and easier to play, especially at the higher end of the neck.

I finally bought my first one last year , an SG and i was completely impressed with it. I threw in some P90's and it sounds amazing , kinda reminds me of my Epiphone SG as far as the neck and weight.

I got the newer version of the 338 2 weeks ago with SS frets and the new pickups. Liked it enough that when I saw they had a strat in a color I've wanted forever (sonic blue) I had to pull the trigger. It arrived today. Like the 338 the rets are level and good to go. Locking tuners, roasted nexk. Hard to beat for $169.I think it'll be one of my new live guitars.

I hate to admit it but that guitar actually looks great. Maybe I'm just hungry but it's definitely unique. Good for the FF team to build it with that color scheme.
I have 14 plus fireflys and still keep looking to add more. They keep improving the m.j and they listen to their customers and improve the guitar

change that pink to black or white and it would be killer! if you wanted to keep the pink i would want a different color binding. the red is really not working for this one
I do plan on getting a pink guitar for sure one day thats kind of my thing is a guitar of every color , love colorful guitars ! But imo pink and red just do not look good together, if they had kept it straight pink with black decal especially balck humbuckers and hardware , now were talking , it would be a perfect mix of modern metal , hair metal. Just my opinion, but i definitely want to buy a firefly in the future.

Real question. Did you change the sound set up to your media's chanel? You always have great tone, harmony, melody and accurate note choice, speed and clarity. This demo sounded crystal clear and up front more than any of the other great demos that you've done, even on the PRS that you won. Sounds fantastic either way!

I know that most of the quality of the sound comes from the amp, but man, the very fact that a $200 guitar could sound that good with decent equipment is kickass. I've been eyeing Firefly guitars for a while now. Sucks they only ship to the US though because I would kill for a LP style guitar like that
Keep in mind, John Sykes was Shedder on a Les Paul.
For sure, and there are lots of others. But for me personally, it's not an ideal shredder guitar.

Hello man only a recent sub to your channel, your playing is fantastic, your licks, climbs , runs and harmonies are perfect man. Is their any way in this green earth you could do a quick vid on the technique behind these runs? I have watched many players but your ease of playing is really stand out especially those assending and desending runs. Also takes some set of stones to rock a pink LP lol 10/10 man

Just want to be fair here. My Firefly “Less Paul” did not arrive in a playable condition. I’ve set it up as best as it can possibly be set up, and there are just quite a few bad frets. I’ll need to get the files out for sure, which I wasn’t looking forward to. The tuners are worthless - if you bend once, you are WAY out of tune. It looks gorgeous, feels solid, and would play pretty nice if not for the problems. I will say, the pickups sound FANTASTIC, once I took the covers off and the two pounds of wax out of them. I’ll keep it around, but wouldn’t buy it if I had it to do over. Just be ready for anything if you order one. Too bad, really.

Firefly is making some A+ "Budget Guitars"... for around the $159-250 USD price point... with the quality builds, model variety, and materials... these guitars are a great choice to purchase... if upgrades are desired (such as pick ups, tuners, pots, caps, switch, nut...) - these guitars are excellent platforms to build on... they look sharp... the paint jobs are excellent... no need to buy a "Guitar Kit" that you have to assemble/paint... I am currently guitar heavy... (I know... you can never have enuff guitars! I did buy a Leo Jamyz sparkle telecaster, 2 weeks ago, after watching The Bald Shredders review on his... another great choice for a "budget guitar"...) but I may just break down and buy one anyways... and, Bald Shredder... you did some stellar playing and gave a professional review!!!

I saw that one on guitars garden. looks great. I knew you have a couple of things coming but not this.
So I ordered one of their new LPs. Having some issues with it -- I think there's an issue with the bridge, can't get it to intonate properly. Anyhow I'm trying to set up a return for either a replacement or a refund, I'll report back on my experience. A bad guitar can happen from the best manufacturers, the real measure of the company is how they handle it when things go wrong.
When Firefly first came out they were producing guitars every 4 to 5; months now production went up and quality is a hit or miss of the 5 I've bought 2 i love 2 i sold for cheap and 1 is just okay 👀
What's the fretboard radius on it? The one I have is an explorer style and it's 16-17 inches which is too flat for me to be comfortable, but I like the brand.

Emagine if Gibson put out LP’s with colors and configurations that brands like FF and others put out today back in the 80’s. I’d bet the superstrats of that era would have had some serious competition long before slash made them hip again 🙂

Im older and like the smaller frets. I push too hard usually. I can play my newer guitars with big ass frets but like the smaller

TBH, I've owned a couple FF guitars and the one thing I hate about them the most are their fretboards. They almost never match with the aesthetic of the guitar. Some of the newer ones with the roasted maple necks and fretboards are the exception (I have a paisley tele of theirs like that).
