1:41 I've always been of the opinion that, if you put Ancient Aliens and Doom 64 in a bowl and stir them until they blend, the end result is Back to Saturn X. It's like the perfect halfway between the two.
i like sataan, it's just two letters changed from saturn and in the theme of doom its just one away from satan. I also like the intro showing the sneaky mechanic that leaves corpses for the viles to resurrect. I as watching the kill counter to see when it happened cuz i expected it to be right at the begining but it wasn't till 7:05.
The perfect spot to be in: 200/200 and facing a giant bag of archviles. 😅 easily one of my favourite maps from BTSX.. I find the barrel fight super memorable and the end too.
While I objectively respect Mix Up The Satellite and think it deserves to be in BTSX - it's competently drawn and laid out and fits the theme -, I am not a fan of this map. It's more a mix of factors than one big single reason: the uniformly brown texture choice combined with the barely token lighting make the whole thing feel flat, and combined with this power ballad BGM that I don't like, it misses the excitement mark for me. More a matter of 'feel' than 'do', if you catch my drift. What isn't subjective is how much harder it is in solonet compared to regular play. Especially the fight by the dead trees where the archies ambush you and resurrect a lot of stuff. In normal UV, you can leave and bottleneck them as you did here with way more ease, unless the flame bois sync up zaps all at once. Which CAN happen, but it's rare. The final area is nowhere near as chaotic too, gou do get pushed into the open yard by the incoming Revs but the numbers are manageable.
I didn't care for the over done browns either. You've got to change it up a little bit. I felt the same way when I was watching Decino do "Doom II: In Spain Only", which was another brown-overload. Although I enjoyed ISO, and I'm ready to see where BTSX goes.
Yes! Sataan wins! (I don't know if I had any influence on that, but I did recommend it because it's basically Satan, like the other commentors said. It fits with DOOM quite nicely! Just from how many ways you pronounced it, I wasn't sure if you got that before you changed the name.) Dude, that was a ton of archies! What a 'vile map! 20:05 No, that was not it. (Poor lost soul being ignored...)
Breaking News: Vytaan turns into the biblical lord of the underworld in his free time
Thanks for showing us the sequence with the barrels blowing up!

The opening room definitely feels like a Doom64 reference...

Maybe SATAAN-X
Noooooo you missed the intermission text screen!
But the song is awesome! Nanonucleonic Cyborg Summoning by Elric Sullivan!
Oops! I think I'm forever cursed to miss text screens. I'll try to remember and record it seperately for MAP07!

Love the midi on this map.

"I can't be in a better spot than this.".... South Park meme "Aaaand it's gone."
Instead of Sattan how about Back to Vytaan X, or Back Vytaan Saturn X to, BTSXTAN
Amazing that you survived this one first time!
Hail Sataan!
''Well, I can't be in a better spot than this!!"

You definitely had an influence, plus I think it's the suggestion I saw the most!
Back to Sataan X :D
