I live in Brevard and I just started to love biking. Thanks for these nice trails in my backyard. I’ve taken them for advantage for too long so time to use em!!
I've ridden a few trail around the country, Black Mountain is an EPIC ride. Stay on it all the way down. Don't waste a real ballbuster of a climb by getting off on another trail. The Black Mountain descent is that fun!
Great video, Brice. The climb to do Black Mountain and Avery Creek (Clawhammer Road) should be featured as well. I have ridden the old Avery Creek UP to top of Black Mountain and did the 'borderline unrideable' descent. Five hours of hike-a-bike for a 10 minutes of wild PNF goodness. It was epic, but an only-do-once experience. Now I'll be going back. Thanks for highlighting the trail improvements.
Trace, Spencer, and Ridgeline, too. Decent vid for just scratching the surface if you just have a weekend, though I'm not sure I would have even included Sycamore in this video at all. For a little extra work you can do Lower Black, which is WAAAAY more fun. Me and a friend did Avery, Bennet, AND full Black in one day. Exhausting.
Just revisiting this video and it's funny seeing your comment. I have this same conversation with PB as well, although as you know the actual guide is the 4500 word story that this video accompanies.
"...it was borderline unrideable." Psssh. That's what makes (made) it good. Still, cool to have some new stuff and jumps in the forest. Just hope that all the gnar doesn't get turned so sanitary as has been the trend. Great vid though 👍
Trust me, my preferred style of riding is fast and rough for sure. But for a lot of people who made the effort to get all the way up to the top of Upper Black, it was just a washed out mess, ya know?
@@bricycles1389 I get it and I'm not trying to be a dick or anything. As I said, it is great to have new features and styles of riding in the forest. I just hope that the trend of rehabing natural/washed out rugged gnar trails does not extend to everything; it's a lot of what makes this area unique and excellent. That said, yes, there is a lot of room for better built trails (Avery was never very good anyway IMO, and South Mills is a mess, etc). Full disclosure, I have not yet ridden the new Upper black or Avery, but I plan on it this week, and I am very much looking forward to it.
These videos always look way more dramatic than they really are. Sorry to disappoint, but any moderate ride looks really edgy and dramatic. Not trying to dis any of the excellent riders, but I see these videos all the time and have to say, even my tame videos give the impression that I'm some kind of dare devil, which I am not.
I’m looking for advice... I’m going to NC the 18 of October but I haven’t been there before. I want to ride pisgah and dupon , I’ll be there for 5 days . My question is what’s the name of the closest town to stay for the 5 days , I don’t want to be far or drive tons to get to the trails..

Can you get into the trails from your place? Or do you have to car drive?
@@danielhhs I live close by, you can ride your bike anywhere

Not anymore it ain't. The kooks got to it.
its pretty tame now, still fun though
@CoderShare oh shut it. Complainer
Great vid and narrating while riding. It really helps understand the trail and experience
Yeah Brice! Man I want ride some good trails with you. Be so much fun.. Brevard is such a blast to ride. Can't wait to go back
On Sycamore, that's the direction I always go. Climb up grassy. Go left to upper sycamore or right to lower sycamore. You guys ripped Avery :)
Really liked that Dupont Big Rock trail - totally doable on my old hard tail :-]
it's one of my favorite trails

So happy I moved to N.C.
I love Brice's vids
Great trails! I hope to return May 2024
Kitsuma, pilot rock, lower black, bennet gap... lots of bigger better rides out there to be had. "the complete guide" barely scratched the surface...
heartbreak ridge is good too,

@@bricycles1389 true true... pinkbike loves clickbait 😉 someday we should work together on something epic 😎
Too Funny. Was waiting on some friends right by the "Sycamore Cove" marker a few days ago. And all those sticks are still there holding up the marker.
Love living here!
Bryan Glover cool, whats a good town to live near there?

My local trails!
Lower Black and Avery are probably my two favorite trails in Pisgah.
Lower black is amazing
I love me some Pisgah.
Free pass for my birthday next weekend. Weather in the upper 50s. Coming from CT is it worth riding there this time of year?
Dude! I could have used this last weekend! I was there but went to DuPont instead.
Big Dummy!
BooPont. 😁 Well, the real Pisgah will still be here when you return.
Sick trail
Thanks man! Great vid
Is the last trail just called "Black" or is it Avery Creek? Riding out there soon and this trails looks to be worth checking out
Are you using your gopro in pro mode/stereo? If so are you using a wind cover? Lot of wind noise...
I live in Brevard, NC
you're a lucky guy
please leave
Love it there!
Where are some good places to pitch a tent and stay the night?
Great video! What bike are you riding?
Would a hardtail be okay on these trails?
It’ll beat you up, but you probably could.
Best trails on the east coast!
Kingdom trails up in Vermont is a very good contender though
Is there any easier beginner or casual trails out that way only couple hours east of there
I rode in Rock Hill SC along the river a couple years ago. They were decent trails and have been added to since.
DuPont is full of easy trails. Big Rock is probably the gnarliest one there. Very family friendly and quite a few waterfalls to check out.
no stay away
Never herd of it Looks great 👍
I live in Raleigh and am dying to ride out there. Trying to put my new YT Capra29 to its full intended use.
Well it's a right place to do it!
I’m in Greensboro. The 4hr drive is always worth it to Pisgah
That's what I ride up here and it's the perfect terrain for the bike.
question i'm wanting to plan a trip towards the end of November. Is it going to be too late to ride at that time of year??
Not at all...optimal time really
Can ride Pisgah all year (barring the unusual snowfall). November is great!
I ride here year round.
best month to ride pisgah?
September October and November
Nice vid but the camera doesnt do it justice
a couple would be two to be exact

Ha, agreed was thinking the same thing. I must be a better rider than I thought. Was riding a borderline unrideable trail for years!
Great video. GoPro effect big time, POV does it no justice.
Yeah go pro makes it looks “flat”.
video excellent. ads are way too long
DuPont is a groomed skate park, If u r here, Ride the Pisgah! Black, Pilot, Farlow.......
Saludes
