Stephens: Capstone Playthrough

We have fun* trying Stephens, a new game from Costa and Rôla with cover artwork by Lukas Siegmon. It will debut at Spiel Essen '24.
*Rules we forgot in this play-through:
1. The 2 decks of cards (red & blue) should be face up at the top of the board.
2. The empty furnaces bonus at the worker space of the board only allows a player to take one contract or investment.
3. Some players may have been using the empty furnace bonus without having an empty furnace.

This is definitely one of the more intriguing games I’ve played the past few years. There’s much to explore here. I’m so glad I took a risk to buy this one! Thanks guys for the play through!

Thank you for this playthrough! I am wondering about the professions on the top row, the red and the blue. The rules state, "Shuffle all red profession cards and create a *face-up deck*, placing it on the leftmost space of the 6 spaces for professions above the game board." But you have the deck face-down. I see a similar rule for the blue deck.

Yes, we should have placed and played those face up.

Also blue appears to make an illegal placement on the top left row timestamp 57.57 and shouldn’t have benefited from triggers, It should have been placed on the right hand side.
