- This is my 100th video.
The classic game of double dribble. I was so used to the nintendo version that I forgot that in the arcade game you have to hit button 1 to move and dribble.
I always love the Konami arcade basketball games, they just bring something to the table all the time.
Enjoy. - บันเทิง
When I was a kid, I considered this to be realistic and amazing.
I think too realistic for an arcade game.
This was the GOD of realism in the arcade for me too. I would get $3 for the arcade ($1 to last each of my Mom's 3 league bowling games). It was easy to make the money last accept for this beast. I wanted to play it the whole time but I think you only got 1 min per quarter unless you were beating the cpu (which was HARD AS F#CK!). The few times I made it to the 3 point shoot out were like EPIC lifetime achievements!
@@TrainerCTZ Classic arcade game for sure. There were a few tricks. You could always hit a three point shot from past half court if a certain player shot the ball. Also, possible to shoot while falling off court and it would automatically become a pass. Tricks like that came in handy when you were beating the computer and they put the pressure defense on.
@@eugenemcgirt2357 what I would have done to have that info back then. I do remember a player hitting some 3/4 court buzzer beater surprisingly regular! Maybe the small forward?
@@TrainerCTZ man yeah, that's sounds expensive ..
Man that national anthem though lol
adavari17 gives me a nasty trip down the uncanny valley...
Still better than Rosanne 😂
Definitely a programmer singing that. lol
The first ever Auto tune song
That's pretty funny I'm seeing it for the first time.
I genuinely think that Stephen Hawking could do a better rendition of the national anthem.
omg i didn't even know this game was an arcarde game. I had it on the NES...
gotta love the voices!
Never heard a Japanese person sing the National Anthem before.
1:54 "F*&K that shot!"
apierce5 All those birds can't be wrong
it's as annoying to hear that stupid line every time you shoot as WHERE DID YOU LEARN TO FLY? ala avgn's episode of that flying game
There should've been a US release of the game called Michael Jordon's Double Dribble.
Bo Jackson was in Tecmo Bowl,
Lee Trevino was in Fighting Golf,
and Mike Tyson was in Punch-Out!!
Michael Jordon needs his own 80s Arcade/NES game to!
I agree, more releases like that would have been cool. I wonder if it was due to licensing issues or something.
@@SupremeJudge By Jordan being the brand himself, it was like pulling teeth to get him to attach his name to something.
Jordan vs Bird was a game back then..
The national anthem at the beginning is the best part of the game.
the sneakers sounds like a bunch of guinea pigs or chirping baby birds.
Always admired the fact that the Japanese didn’t have a full grasp of the rules of the game, but tried their best and this was still a great game!
0:38 This is why you came to this video.
Yes
Yep
It’s Roseanne with auto tune 😂
The first video game to feature the American anthem.
These voices and sound effects are hilarious
Konami used the exact same voice in many of their arcade games in the mid-80s.
1:35 Oh Yeah, Mr. Krabs!
Remember that glitch where you jump and shoot from the corner and it makes it in automatically
Corner 3
NES version
Damn that National Anthem I think someone got drunk.
"O say can you see...video killed the radio star....."
"Block that shot" lol.
The shoe squeaking sound effect is actually pretty badass.
Btw, I’m sure we’ve heard worse performances of the National Anthem.
Why is there always bad covers of the song?
LMAO...oh man...I love this..thank you for uploading :).
The Star-Spangled banner part ; that's pretty funny. Lol.
The sneaker squeaks sound like little birds
the dribble sounds like a conga drum....actually a pretty catchy beat after awhile
I never knew how to play this game nor was I particularly interested in it, but I always loved the sounds of it.
wow so many good memories
Congrats on your 100th video!
CPU has control of the ball.
Sprunk that I'm getting that rom right there. That Anthem was off the hook.
This was the GOD of realism in the arcade for me. I would get $3 for the arcade ($1 to last each of my Mom's 3 league bowling games). It was easy to make the money last accept for when trying to play
this beast. I wanted to play it the whole time but I think you only got 1 min per quarter unless you were beating the cpu (which was HARD AS F#CK!). The few times I made it to the 3 point shoot out were like EPIC lifetime achievements!
LMAO!! OK, that's the funniest thing I've read on the net in a while.
I really wish they would release the arcade version of this game on something like virtual console on wii and 3ds or for psp and also maybe for xbla.
Who taught these people how to shoot free throws? Shaquille O'Neal?
Paráda 👍
I love when they miss the free throw and the ref throws it back at them yelling "do it again!".
Do you *Not Hear* the voice saying: "Do it again!"?!? That's clearly a female audience member
I always thought it was stupid to have a game called Double Dribble where you can't double dribble. Seeing the arcade version, now I get it.
Admit it...you came here to listen to the national anthem.
8:02
Yall should of passed it to that guy a bit more often holy cow!!!
*should have*
I remember when I scored 100 points on a single quarter... that was fun, considering that you couldn't shoot three point shots and after a certain point the game would start bombing them in if you got too far ahead.
This arcade version was a time when games were serious rigged to get you to fork out the quarters.
I remember playing this game at a flee market not to long ago. I was amazed that it was there.
*flea* ,not flee. What were fleeing from, anyway? 😅🤣
@SupremeJudge yea I agree, there were a lot of nes ports that weren't as good as the arcade version, but double dribble is a sure improvement.
this are the other golden troppers that got cut into an area of arcade inside of a arcade gaming short scne at a game of games but of basketball
I keep hearing birds chirping 😂
this game was def a big hit every where else lol
Well this was the predecessor to Run & Gun.
i wanted to like this game back in the day, but how it made you dribble by tapping the button like in track and field was infuriating.
so many birds in the court
Star spangled banner sung by the guys from moonbase alpha
Damn!! Dude at 2:58 must have been Dominque Wilkens or somebody.
That National Anthem sounds like somebody literally phoning it in.
this has better play by play than Madden 19
Apparently, it's easier to make a half-court shot than a free throw or a dunk.
Tpain on the anthem
0:38 More games need synthesized singing in their anthems!
Is that Slippy yelling Block That Shot?
are you playing this on Mame? it looks better on NES.
The announcer kind of sounds like Colin Mochrie.
That was one of the best bascetball games on NES. I was very good at this. In the end of the tournament a manga girl appeared, as I remember. Has anyone a recording of that?
@wingnut4427 its their sneakers on the hardwood lol
8:05
*Me:* "NO WAY!!!"
3:40 I didn't know they had lebron in the games back then
They made the shoe squeaking noise, a bird didn't it
Bird basket 😂😂😂
Damm .....look at how far we have come lol....The first real basketball game I remember was Lakers vs Celtics in1990...although this was cool for the NES, but I needed real teams and players. EA for Sega back then Rocked!
I would hate to see a 40% ft shooter lol
old skool vocaloid
Sounds like you are in a place infested with mice :D - joking aside, I used to like this game for its graphics! I´m not a baseball/basketball/football/hockey/golf fan.
ARCADE
i am the all time World best @ Double Dribble 🏀
cannot be beaten
My friend was amazing at the NES version so when I showed him the arcade version, he got so confused. It's weird playing the arcade version after the NES one.
Is there a way to get an ending in this game? It would seem that the you would have to insert coins to 48 minutes of playtime, and get the lead.
No, there is no ending. If you win the game, you continue until time runs out.
lol.. the crowd sounds like a bunch of chicks. was this played in a hen house ? 0_o
Vocoder chip VLM5030 made this.
CPU HASS CUNTROL OV DA BAWL
A zillion too many shoe squeaks!
@stupidjunk878
Arcade version, in a JAMMA chipset.
@spitlord HAHAHAHAHAHA !!!! Have you seen the video where He does a rick roll ? lol
This uses the same weird computer voice used in Konami’s “Super Basketball”
@exmortis lol I was kidding. lol
nice grapes?
@rgfilms08projecthope ahhh !
Nintendo did an awesome job with this classic on the NES.
Muhan C.A. Dunk graphics are better in the old NES than in the arcade machine... also NES did not have the annoying bird sound while Max Headrom says *uck that shot.
The dunk graphics is better on the arcade and it have color with it
Konami ported the game to NES, so Konami was the ones that did a good job bringing it over.
Basketball Jones keeps saying Black That Shot?
It's block that shot
HAHA lol! bust out i'm in love with a stripper
Hey, MattAlexJosh, why don't you play this game?
Don't have it :(
Who’s singing the National Anthem? He sounds like a foreigner.
He’s so bad he needed auto tune 😂1:14
LOL "airball"
GOD DAMN. This game is old as fuck. WHERE CAN I PLAY THIS VERSION ONLINE??
@spitlord lol
These people are worse at free throw shooting than Shaq.
“Tough net shot!!!” Free throw! Go to the free throw line! Lol!
Block that shot is what is said.
@willieg54 the nes was great for its time this isn the nes, but the nes port is pretty dam good. It is regarded as the best basketball game for the nes.
OMG CANT MAKE 4 FREETHROWS OR ANY DUNKS BUT MAKE A FUCKING FULLCOURT SHOT LOOK EASY
Nes version is better than the Arcade! Is that even possible?!
With the NES, yes. Double Dribble, Contra, Ninja Gaiden etc.
It really isn't lol
stop hating on the national anthem; all songs or anything that isn't tecno or someone speaking sucks on the nes because you can't use sound recordings you can just chose from thousands of prerecorded tecno sounding sounds.
NES version is better on the Anthem part
at least it's tolerable than the 4kids version which was raped and butchered by sonic, luffy, and splinter
guinea pig
DUBBA DRIBBA LMAO
double dribble on iwon is better.
OMG that guy singing is so embarrassing
nes is a whole lot better than this in a different video the national anthem sounds like Homer Simpson but in this one it dosent
