No mention of Apple being better oh my goodness The Verge I am so proud of you.
I think however the Note 4 with a few software updates is better - I prefer the look, and the removable battery and micro sd card slot is very important to me. Always have a spare battery, and a 128gb sd card in there.
Nice, simple review though. Back to how it was before! I re-subscribed, please no more favoring Apple for no reason bs!

kiwikozo They're saying it because the iPhone ISN'T better. Every other phone, the iPhone has been better in at least some ways.

i have the 200Gb microSD from sandisk and it works fine in my 32Gb Note 4. so its better than a 128Gb quoted max expansion. Note 4 232Gb storage, ir blaster , removable battery and its way cheaper... Note 5 is a miss, Note 6 next year.

+kiwikozo No but you did...and it shows what an important standard the iPhone is for the industry! Its easy to hate Apple cause they're so successful but one thing you can't deny...their products are always the standard in pretty much every category they've enter and thats damn impressive feet to accomplish for a single company!

*sees a millisecond worth of lag in a Samsung device* - everyone become hypersensitive and overreacts that Samsung makes the worst phones in the world.
*sees an app crash on an iPhone* - no one bats an eye because its an iPhone.

thats because everyone knows that iPhone just isnt very good, its the phone people get when they dont know anything about Smartphones, alteast for the most part

    • @KurtKloetentreter
      @KurtKloetentreter 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

+Joshua Hempel dude please just read comments completely. I said for the most part because most of the people I know just say iPhone is the best bcuz it's an iPhone. Samsung users follow the same logic for the most part (I hate Samsung devices though)and that's what I meant. most people just buy iPhones n galaxy phones because they think it's the best phone out there. I'm an HTC one m8 user and I really like the design on that phone. But iPhone is just too expensive imo at least for what it is and the specs. But hey , whatever floats your boat, if you have an iPhone for the design then that's cool , then you are not the kind of person I would consider as dumb for getting an iPhone :D

I've been an iPhone user for the past 4 almost 5 years. A few months ago I switched to T-Mobile and tried out the note 4 for nearly a month and well, I ended up sending it back because the thing was so damn buggy and cumbersome. Ever since that I never had a second thought about switching over to android like I had been before. Trying out android made me appreciate iOS more, honestly haha. I even rooted the damn thing and installed custom ROMs, hoping it would fix some of my problems for me. Thing was still buggy as hell. Even slow sometimes and not great with games. Like how?! Shitty optimization. Just proves that you can have the best hardware out there but still have a shitty user experience. That screen was great though

To anyone complaining about the little stutter... Firstly it was just after changing the theme (that slows down the phone a bit) and secondly an app was updating in the background! So one little stutter in such circumstances is not a big deal.

I have had nothing but iPhones since the fabled 'flip phone' has passed into techno obsolescence. So, this new phone looks like it's going to be a blast. I'm into photos and art. Enjoyed the review! Battery life was my biggest concern, and I'm glad to hear it's doing well by multiple people. I can live without removable storage, and I think a 128 model will come eventually. The only thing I disagree with is it not feeling like the pocket computer it's always been. If they had stripped away core things in what the software can do I would understand that, but that isn't the case. I don't think going unibody took the power out of it. I've been a note user since the note 2 and I've always had an extra battery. Never had to break it out, even currently with the note 4 I don't use the spare battery. It is really nice to have that option if there is an emergency situation, but it's not a deal breaker. The SD card isn't a deal breaker for me either. What would have been a deal breaker for me is bad battery life and if features got stripped from the S pen. I think it's a cool one. It's cool that consumers have so many cool options today. A lot of folks are making some great stuff.

Guys i need help.I am not sure if i should wait for note 6 or this one?By the way i don't have money for note 6.So i don't know should i wait for the price to go down or buy note 5 please reply!

You are in same condition with me, I plan on buying Note5 because the price is drop down right now, But not sure to buy it. Note5 is beautiful, I want it. But, It won't be good for long run, for long run I prefer Note 4/ Note Edge with 4 spare battery, my smartphone will last 4 year's more. But I will wait for Note6/7 to comes up, just want to see what's the standard for smartphone this year. I see many smartphones have 6 GB of RAM, I think this will become standard this year.
If you can't wait anymore, Buy Note5, but you should be aware with it's spen backward problem and becareful, it's glass, also no SD Card, save what you need the most, and the last thing is don't charge your phone when you're using it, it will make you're battery have short life. (I talk with my experience with Li-Po and Li-Ion Battery).

Gaming? Hmm, don't worry about it. You know Note 4 can run almost any game without lag, I don't think game development for smartphone will go so fast to MMORPG HD, It will take a few years. Almost everyone play Clash of Clans. It's not about graphic quality, It's about how interesting is the game will be.

i wanted the note 5 up until i found out the battery is smaller then previous models and no micro sd card slot. those made that phone really stand out making it feel like a mini computer

it's a gorgeous sleek phone and not very big, bulky like the other notes have been. the small bezels and light weight is very compelling.

What a nice way to say that as long as you only use it as a really nice phone that it'll get you through the day. He went further and said you could get two days? Amazing considering I go though three bigger batteries in a day in the note 4.
    Sarcasm BTW.
I'm not saying it's not a nice phone but it's not the powerhouse and media hub that my note 4 is.
I stream films onto the TV from my 160gb storage and browse at the same time because I have that much juice in my extended battery (or multiple batteries that are always on standby).
Don't get me wrong I love love LOVE the new features and can't wait until a custom ported rom is available to flash onto my note 4.
It would have been nice to buy it but I'm not going to trade one feature for another.

Really nice, well-put review! This phone is amazing, but as you said, kinda lost the "Note-charm". Should've put at least 3200 mAh battery in there and given and SD card option.

This has to be the best review of a smartphone I have ever seen.I'm a huge fan of the note lineup and I was a little reluctant about the note 5 because of the non removable battery and the lack of the micro sd card slotbut now I think I'm gonna get it.it is a gorgious phone and the specs are off the chart.

Soltero Le Savage I'm not talking about the iPhone, I HATE the iPhone, I mainly like the note lineup because of it's big screen and battery and the option for a micro sd card slot.
