RIP to all those models that were taken by the styrene Gods.Especially the Felixstowe. Max. you have the memories of building her, the video, and the instruction book to relive the fun time you had with the project. Put the instruction book in a place of honor in your house. Keep Modeling On and let your modelling cry be "Remember The Felixstowe". Take care.
Max...you have suffered a crash. Not being the pilot in command, its tuff to pick up the pieces. Many hours of construction and happiness. Stiff upper lip. Carry on. In memory of all we built and lost. 😢
Noooo ! When model misfortunes have happened to me in the past, I always tell myself that God is trying to tell me something, I just don't know what he is trying to say. But remember, when one door closes, another opens. Hopefully this tragedy will send you in new and different directions.
This was heart breaking to watch and the material/emotional loss for you is very real. Troopers will rally around and support your videos and streams. I mashed the like button but it felt a little wrong. Perhaps a new Felixstowe would be a good next build on the list, 400 knicker aside. Show gravity that you are tougher, not afraid and will prevail. Cheers Commander.
She was a good ship. We'll miss her. 😢 Possibly Captain Max's top modeling achievment to date, though the Caterham is in the running. Hopefully her parts can grace other projects. Watching this, seeing all the intricate rigging now ruined, the myriad of tiny parts lovingly assembled into something truly greater than their sum.... I am deeply saddened. 😢 RIP, noble Felixstowe.
OMG Max! So sorry for your loss. That used to happen to me as a kid when my mother decided she had to dust the shelves in my room. Countless casualties never to be restored. Her comment was always "Oh well, you can make another one." If she only knew. God bless her sainted memory. Hope you will recover soon, it's always hard to lose a project, especially one as grand as the Felixstowe. As always God Bless you and yours this Christmas season. Thanks for everything you do! Model On Captain!!
There is absolutely nothing to do in help or aid. When I had my 2 losses, Nobody knew about it & no one cared to talk my woes to. People have bigger fish to fry up here in Maine than to have models in their lives. You have the Troopers & Hurricane Hobbies & your wife to bare witness.
Darn I so enjoyed watching you build this vintage aircraft. Fitting and Paint and all that rigging. Making this video for us and you will ensure it lives on forever. Thanks for all your content. I look forwards to your stuff every day. Keep up the AWESOME work and Atta Boy!
A veteran and modeller in the local club lost all his models when his workshop burned due to an electrical fire. I worry about the wiring in my rent home. On the other hand, I was selling kits including a bunch of Tamiya bought on sale at Hobby Lobby. At Rivercon in Shreveport. A guy came up and told me that his collection was lost in a fire. He grabbed a bunch of kits and made an offer. I felt sympathy and agreed. I was a chump. He was lying. An eBay seller. Oh well, live and learn. I've gotten some great deals from generous modellers so I guess it evens out
😱😱😱 OMG. That’s really unfortunate Max. That Felixstowe came out real nice. My most sincere condolences on the tragic demise of the Stowe. Like you like to say, Model On. 🫡🇺🇸
The shelves returning to kit form at precisely the wrong moment. It truly is a sad moment seeing the Felixstowe like that, was wondering if the hull interior was still viable to be displayed showing the internal structure and detail ? as the wings etc aren't salvageable. At least with things like the Kubelwagon you can call it battle damage, take care and model on Max.
I've been to museums that have had their ac displayed without the wings. Perhaps open the top to show interior. Could even go into the house that way. Such a loss. So many casualties.
😮😥😮😥😪😫 When I saw the first photos you posted and caught the distinctive red and white striped hull, I immediately knew something happened to take down the shelves. I thought afterwards that the top one fell first creating a scene of cascading disassembly as each lower shelf collapsed from the falling forces from above. In any event, we take our caps off all in tribute to the fallen (literary) Felixtowe.
Truly a tragedy. Let's hold out hope that with the miracle of modern adhesives some can be restored. If not you did have the hours of pleasure building those kits. For those beyond repair there's always kit bashing and paint mules, nothing needs go to waste. Hope this doesn't crush your build MoJo. BTW, you sure handled it a lot better then I. Would have been a couple of hours of bleeps if it was my video.
Oh my. So sorry to see this. Heartbreaking. Maybe you can make a diorama of an aircraft museum with the aircraft in the process of restoration. Maybe. Model On!
Dang. My stomach hurts just looking at the remains of the Felix! I feel for yah Max! Screw a 3/4 x 2 inch board to the back of and the length of the plywood sheet that you're using as a shelf so that it forms an "L". This will double or triple the strength and keep it from bowing. Does the Tarbis have any kind of stud in the wall. Screwing into studs is the only sure way to support weight hanging from a wall.
You might want to consider sending this video to Mr. Peter Jackson down in New Zealand with a short summary of what happened. You never know, he might react by sending you a new model?? 😢🤔
I've had my share of model disasters -- including deliberately destroying and discarding a couple built up kits that had moved with me a few times because I suddenly decided I had outgrown models and there was no room for them in my next place, and you can bet I've wondered a few times in the years since why the he11 I did such a fool thing -- but I have no story to compare to that Felixstowe. All I can say is ... sorry about that, man.
All hail to the fallen Felixstowe....she was MAGNIFICIANT!
Rest in Pieces Felix Stowe. You have flown your last mission.
The Felix Stowe (if at possible) would be the ultimate repair project, and would make for a very interesting series of videos!
I forgot just how much rigging there was on that model. That was an exceptionally fine piece of work. Model on.

Max, your music of choice are the best. Congrats for the video, Bravo! 👏👏
So sad to see that happened Max. Especially the Felixstowe 😢 model on Buddy
A fitting tribute. May her wings always find sunny skies.

How many builds were 'disappeared' by moms?

Sorry for your loss, MODEL ON !!
A great tribute to a beautiful model. Take care, and Model On.

Tis better to have built and lost then never to have built at all
😆
"Away the damage control team".
Or call out the crash crew!
Felixstowe - we hardly knew ye
Lesson of the day, always anchor shelves onto the studs.
yup

A great modeler once said, "Make it your own!". You must fix it, no matter how bad the damage. Dust it off and make it you own!
Sorry to hear of the collection devastation. The loss of the WNW kit is a true calamity.
It never rails every. You're due good luck.

Well there is $400-$500 dollars down the tube…😢
It kept me out of the bars for 3 months 😅
Building it would have driven me to drink!!
Pubs open at 9 right? Ireland must full of model builders!@@BigLisaFan
Hmm, crash diorama perhaps?🤕
hmmmm
Stiren river provides, stiren river takes..... or not if there's a rebuild on the horizon.

I'm thinking steam punk kitbash
In the honour of the Felixstowe i will take up modelling again Max👍thank you for sharing and I have subbed your channel
Self-standing shelves only. Please.
With heavy emphasis on piling
Sad to see the Felix Stowe crash. What will your next opus be?
Sorry about the Felixstowe. All that work gone. Spare parts forever. Have you seen the new Godzilla movie?
I’m really surprised that there were not more “bleeps” when you had started taping the discovery of the condition of the TARBIS
Would you mind listing the music you used? I am so sorry about the Felixstowe.
I'll look up the music when I get back
Long way to Tipperary, the Blue Max and Helen Jane Longs the Aviators.

As a friend of mine would say…: model on! ❤

hmmmm
And yet the Luscombe survived!
What a bummer.
