      There is a cure for cancer but big pharm has bought the cure for Billions and have put it in a VAULT so no one can get to it. AND this is because the medical industry would lose 100's of billions . . this is what they refer to as GREED and not doing the right thing for the HUMANS.

    Thank you very much. It's very difficult connecting amps and speakers with someone who has never worked with sound system gear who thinks they know it all. This video, if he pays attention and doesn't get me all mixed up, will show him what I've been trying to tell him all along. I had never worked with speakon cabling before and that is what we have now and you have taught me a tremendous, invaluable amount of knowledge concerning the use of these cables. This has probably cost my friend, I know it all, tons of money. He has blown amps, speakers, tweeters...and the list goes on. Especially if I still can't get him to listen to you, me or anybody. Thanks again.

    Sir I thank you for your video lessons here . I am a novice in what your sharing . I simply know basic knowledge on setting up my own active and passive speakers each having their own system . What I want to learn is how to combine both active and non active speakers or is this advisable otherwise I wouldn't anymore think about this . I am not really a pro DJ or soundguy and just do this as a hobby and when my friends would ask me from time to time for all of us to have fun . I learn better visually so I will be. Dry to see you doing a demo on this subject if you don't mind . You really take time explaining and showing everything in such a way your style is not. Why confusing to watch and listen too. Splendidly clear explanations without pointless repetitions or not needed information to confuse people with less knowledge. Was just trying to find some insight into bridging with speakon cables. I found out my amplifiers use the one where you need to reroute the wires, so will be using an adapter in the end of the cables when I need to bridge the amplifiers for larger setups.
    Subbed and hope to see more great videos like this in the future.

    • @GLBProductions
      @GLBProductions  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching! Another method for amps that are permanently rack mounted is to bring the amp outputs out to panel mount speakon connectors - you would have one each for channels A and B, and one more for bridge mode, wired to the binding post outputs.

    5000W 8ohms bridge power

    >82dB Crosstalk; 45/ s Slew Ratio

      @@GLBProductions yes it turned on the other day. It was very strange. I have 4-8ohm subs and daisy chained them all to get it down to 2ohms. It must of overloaded I was only using half the power amp. Is there a way to use both A&B channels.
      I’m so confused but any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.

    • @GLBProductions
      @GLBProductions  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you can use the 'mono' mode (actually parallel mono) to send the signal from the channel A input connector to both channels without any additional cables. Re-arrange your subs so that the load on each channel is 4 ohms and then run some tests to see if the amp shuts down again. If the 'protect' light on the front panel comes on this means that there is some issue with your speakers or speaker wiring. Finally, remember that the cooling path on this amp is front to back - check to see that both the front and back of your amp rack are unobstructed (the hot air needs somewhere to go) and do not mix with amplifiers that have a back to front cooling path. If the amp shuts down again then you should probably contact Yorkville tech support. All the best 😄

    Hi I watch your video however it didn't cover my issue. I'm trying to figure out whether to use one RCA input to the bridged car amplifier or with a y adapter used both left and right. the manual has the speaker wiring as left positive and right negative for positive and negative speaker connections respectively. The owners manual does not state whether to use one or both with a y adapter. What do you think sir? I have another brand amp from the same year that states in the manual specifically to use the left only, the speaker wiring in the bridged mode is the same as the one listed above and also has a switch for bridged or stereo mode, not that that makes any difference. Thank you

    Very good video. But I still have a pair of doubts.
    In a bridge mode connection, what about the distorion (THD and IMD)?
    The THS+IMD is twice than in single mode?
    And what about the damping factor? the damping get worst or improve?
    I have a crossover (Behringer) with a subwoofer MONO balanced output (XLR connector). Is perfectly for supplying a MONO amplifier, but I have a stereo one. Each pin of the XLR connector is 180 degrees inverted respect the other pin. I could feed the left input with one pin and the right with the other pin, putting the woofers (both are of 8 ohms) in bridge between the "hot" outputs (red connectors) ...is well if I do that? And the woofers I connect them in parallel (4 ohms) or I connect them in series (16 Ohms) ?
    Hope you want responding me.
    I am writing from Argentina. Excuse my bad English.

    • @GLBProductions
      @GLBProductions  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I suggest that you consult the company that manufactured your particular amplifier - not all amplifiers are designed to be bridged, and output characteristics may differ from model to model.
      Your suggested setup with your crossover will work in theory.
      Woofers are typically connected in parallel for live sound applications so that a failure of a single driver does not silence the whole cabinet.

    Hello so you say bridging the amp allows you to connect to one large speaker, but what if you want to connect to two speakers , How then? One more question I have a pair of Westlake 10" studio monitors spearkers , if a amp doesn't have enough power to push them would they sound like they are baffling with a lot of (highs) with not enough Bass? Because I have heard these name brand speakers ( 8" ) plays, the Bass sound coming from them were (Round) and powerful.

    • @GLBProductions
      @GLBProductions  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      To connect to two loudspeakers you would daisy-chain them together, so amp -> first speaker -> second speaker. I'm afraid I can't answer your second question - suggest you ask somebody who is familiar with those particular speakers.

    Clearest explanation ever of how bridge mode works and how to modify the connectors on Speakon cables. Thank you Sir. Question: I intent to run two 8 ohm speaker cabinets in mono bridge mode (Crown XLS 1002). After modifying the amp end of my Speakon cable per the manual - I can then "daisy chain" the second speaker cabinet to the first, and I would then be bridged into a 4 ohm load, correct?

In order to send the signal from the amp (in bridge mode) I need a banana plug for the output signal and it needs to be adapted to the 1/4" phone jack for the speaker cable. • @GLBProductions
      @GLBProductions  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Pat, thanks for getting in touch. There are many reasons why your system might not be working - each make and model of amplifier has its own ways of managing the signal so I can only give some general suggestions:
      First of all make sure that you have selected the correct INPUT on the amplifier - many hifi amps have several inputs: phono, CD, tuner etc. Also, make sure that signal is actually reaching the input of the amplifier - you mentioned an equalizer in your post above - if this is a separate component try unplugging it and running the source directly into the amplifier itself.
      Secondly, make sure that you have selected the correct OUTPUT - some amps have two sets of outputs, meant for two different sets of speakers. These are sometimes called A and B.
      Finally, it is likely that your amplifier should be run in stereo mode - bridge mono mode is usually reserved for driving subwoofers.
      Hope your can get your system working!
