I found your channel through Garden Answer with Laura and I'm so glad I did. Your property looks beautiful.
Thanks for the informative lilac chat. I adore lilacs, plain and simple. We inherited quite a few of the old-fashioned white and lilac-coloured varieties when we bought an old farm in Ontario, Canada about 20 years ago. There was a lilac-coloured one beside the front door of the farm house and a white one planted at the back door. Someone told me that there was significance in that particular way of planting them for the early European settlers, but I can't remember what it was.
I've done a few rejuvenation prunes over the years as they tend to grow to almost 20 feet tall and cast quite a bit of shade where I don't want it. I use the prunings to make garden stakes in my flower beds and even to stake my tomato plants. The wood is so strong and dense that I have stakes still in use from almost ten years ago!
    Much success with your channel!

Wow-I’m sure your yard smells heavenly! There’s just something about old, established Lilacs. Thanks for sharing the info about using the wood as garden stakes-great idea and way to re-purpose! So glad you joined us here!

Coffee ☕️tea 🍵 all good! Have you made an indepth video about your garden shed for your channel? Love how you decorated the inside. Nothing better than vases of fresh flowers 💐 in your house.....well that and fresh sheets on the bed😏. 7b South Carolina

@@sidedish4279 no, I haven’t done a full tour of that or my greenhouse for TH-cam. I need to do that soon! The vases are for a couple of projects this season. One for the Senior Center and another for a wedding plus other bouquets for sharing. I save all my pasta jars, jelly jars etc.
They are great for giving away bouquets!
Hope all is well in zone 7b S. Carolina!

Lovely lilacs 😊 I had a Miss Kim in my former garden before I retired and moved. The aroma from lilacs instantly take me back to my childhood 😊❤️

Oh how I love lilacs. My neighborhood is heavy with the scent right this moment, and it's truly just beautiful. I also just discovered a lilac bush growing on our property so this video absolutely comes in handy!

    Let’s chat about Lilacs!
As a follow-up. You don’t necessarily have to cut off the spent blooms but it does benefit the shrub! 💜

PW is rocking, got their reblooming dark lilac last year, it was very small, it’s performing very well this year. 6b and we are a bit later with blooming lilac. Just cut some flowers from traditional miss Kim today.

Glad you got to cut some from your Miss Kim. I was just checking out the blooms on mine earlier today!

Bobbi, lilacs bring back memories of my grandma's garden when I was a child. I planted a Miss Kim lilac two years ago in a large planter (I will plant it into the ground after it blooms this year because it's loaded with buds right now).
My order from GH Wild came last Saturday and to my surprise, I got another lilac (I forgot that I ordered it). It's supposed to be a dwarf lilac variety named Palibin'. According to the tag, it gets 4-5' tall x 5-7' wide, which doesn't sound very dwarf to me. Now, to decide where it's going in my garden, along with the two butterfly bushes, hostas, lilies (Oriental and Asiatic), penstemon, perennial hibiscus, and the All Gold Japanese forest grass. YIKES, this gardening addiction is going to kill me yet, lol! I hope you have a wonderful week! ~Margie
