From Oberstdorf via Birgsau, Petersalpe up to the Enzianhütte in the Allgäu.

The Enzianhütte with a view to Oberstdorf, the Mindelheimer Klettersteig and the Lechtal was the destination for our multi-day tour in the Allgäu.
We parked our car at the parking lot Fastenoy opposite the Fellhornbahn. From there, the Enzianhütte can be reached on foot in about 3.5. to 4.0 hours.
We shortened a bit and took the bus to Birgsau - Einödsbach and then walked from there in the direction of Petersalp and Enzianhütte.
The path to Petersalpe winds through really idyllic forest and meadow sections. At Petersalp we took a short rest and fortified ourselves with the very tasty fresh buttermilk for the upcoming ascent.
In the lower part of the path we passed a waterfall, then the path runs serpentine along the mountain.
The climb is very steep and you walk about 700 meters in altitude until we finally reached our destination, the Enzianhütte.
GOOD TO KNOW: Prerequisite is a head for heights and surefootedness. For the alpine trail, mountain boots are a must and hiking poles are a very good help. In rainy weather, the trail can be muddy and slippery on rocky sections.
