looking back, if we had gotten a cgi ad back then that set up V's personal story rather than painting such a vivid picture of life in night city, people would have been more accepting of the game we got. people were saying how the game we got, at its core, wasnt what was shown here. thats the issue with this kinda hype cycle marketing BS. funnily enough, the 'V' launch trailer is way, way more accurate to what we actually got. wonder why! couldnt possibly be that they had a bit more of a vision figured out by then... really feels like they made Night City first, then the game second. oh well none of this matters because in a hot minute here we're all gonna be playing 2.0 and Phantom Liberty anyways

I feel like it would work super well as a live action, well CGI’d tv series better than as a game. I mean, at least for now. The cyberpunk aesthetic is such a hard thing to convey through videogames right now it seems, there’s supposed to be so much going on that it’s like a constant overload which unfortunately doesn’t sit well with current hardware it seems. Everything’s supposed to be eye catching, everything’s supposed to make you buy, sell, fuck or kill. It’s worked amazingly well in movies, so I can’t wait for games to catch up
In 2018 they voted this game as the most anticipated and hyped game in history. Main reasons? Sky high rate of quality and more people desperate to play it than anything else. Can't deny it, its all true. Its been two years later and everybody still wants to play it. See, this game always has a promise for you, the trailers may be a lie, or an illusion, but the release date is there, just around the corner, and it keeps you going. Its the game of my dreams. Now that Phantom Liberty is just under a week away, I've decided to watch this trailer once again. It's still as badass as it was 5 years ago. Congrats on turning this game's fortunes around, CD Projekt Red; this is one of the best games I've ever had the pleasure of playing through from start to finish, and now people are slowly starting to realize its true merits.
It's a great game, always loved it even through the bugs, but they marketed it all wrong and the last-gen console versions were atrocious (which they knew since they didn't release them to reviewers). It's hard to come back from those mistakes, in fact it's pretty impressive they've built up so much goodwill in the time since.
As an old nerd, this game was rushed but CDProjekt Red Put their heads down in the same way Sean Murray did with No Mans Sky. This trailer is what they have finally created and I urge anyone who sees this today and thinks, man that looks fun. I am absolutely fucking hyped. However I respect the process and can wait :) please do not rush this game... Edit: oof actually thought you were cdpr lol
eh, its still unfinished janky trash. The devs that built this game left the studio a year before it released. The game now is handled by talentless amateurs that have no clue what they are doing, or how to work on this engine. The DLC was supposed to be part of the core game.
@@sqlevoliciousyet the game is still great, steam reviews will tell you that and it’s literal proof. The game is worth what you pay for. It’s got replay-ability with multiple story lines, some of the best graphics out there for an engine that isn’t Unreal 5, almost every setting on pc you can think of, and it’s got dozens of hours of content through even one playthrough. On sale rn on steam, game plus phantom lib for $51, or base game for $30.
Right? I assume the majority of development left to do is just create the massive amount of content they need to fill the game world. Apparently all of the NPCs are going to have their own loops and backstories different quests you can explore just by following people around. I sincerely hope they have that level of depth to it, that would be amazing.
Hold on, just because they cut together a gameplay video of one mission and i trailer doesn't mean the game functions properly yet. I just played The Witcher 3 for the second time, and i was actually a bit concerned with the amount of bugs and glitches that are still in it. So i hope the remaining 2 years are also dedicated to having the game run as smoothly as for example Horizon Zero Dawn
@@am33x I thought the same, until i played it more than a year after i finished it the first time. I noticed the game still had some of the original bugs and glitches , and some i hadn't seen before. better yet, on the left in the background, render distance is so low only boots and jackets are rendering. this trailer was made in a game that was complete mess and it shows lol. This crowd has no collision at all and no one noticed
“The world where Eredin couldn’t find you, what was it like?” “You wouldn’t believe me if I told you.” “Try me.” “People there had metal on their heads, waged war from a distance, using things similar to megascopes, and there were no horses, everyone had their own flying ship instead.” “Ciri, stop fooling around.” “Told you you wouldn’t believe me...ah we should’ve stayed there.”
I just finished Witcher 3 about one week ago. When i saw that scene i instantly thought it was such an obvious reference to Cyberpunk 2077! After this trailer now i'm sure it is.
@@Owerus Old gen consoles can run RDR2, God Of War, TLOU, Ghost of Tsushima, Death Stranding, Forza, Halo, and you're saying the shitty game they got are because of the hardware?? Man pls shut up.
@@orion.2072 i'm saying. I still enjoy the game but this game isn't doing anything new to warrant the lame "old gen consoles held it back" argument lol. What, ray tracing is why we're ok with this game being average on console when it promised so much more? I at the very least expected more activities in the city then just have sex with a few NPC's and riding 1 rollercoaster lol. I thought we would able to play pool, the arcade machines, ride in taxi's, possibly the taxi's in the sky like fifth element, play basketball, eat at diners, buy apartments and what not. GTA isn't even a RPG and has more stuff to do in their city then this.
The cool part is that the final game, if you turn on all the RT and stuff, actually looks better than this trailer. In the end, CDPR never gave up and the produced a quality product. They should have ignored last gen consoles tbh. Maybe that's a lesson learned.
6 full years after this trailer, the dream has come true. After many patches and community mods, this is truly the next generation game we were promised.
nope. is it better than release? after the fix updates, yes. is it as they said it will be? no. and instead of adding new things like they did in Witcher 3 with the DLC's, they spend their time adding things that should be in the game at release. the didn't add anything new like Witcher 3 DLC's.

I'm starting to think Rockstar spoiled us. While it's true that they should stop milking GTA Online, you can't deny they're the best at creating cities that feel alive. Night City looks absolutely stunning, but it feels dead, it's a city full of robots instead of stupid humans. "The most believable city in any open world game ever", and now they're calling expecting what was advertised "unrealistic expectations"
@@SnrubSource I haven't played Cyberpunk 2077 yet, but that's true. Rockstar are the best at creating big open worlds that feel alive. Unfortunately, they do love milking their (2) main titles, because they are a for-profit company after all, and I don't like the direction of GTA Online at all, but when it comes to promising something, they usually deliver and their games live up to the hype. GTA V Story mode was an amazing experience. Online could be just as amazing, but their greed ruined it - with all their futuristic military vehicles now the game is more like Saints Row V instead of GTA V, but I can't blame them just because I don't like it, it's their decision ultimately.

EA is a trash company that has no respect for the medium. They just want money at this point in their career and no essence in creativity. It's unbelievable how they fell down so far.
Fun fact for all you Critical Role fans: The guy voicing V in this trailer is Robbie Daymond, he was originally cast as V but they recast him and he ended up playing River.

Really? You imagined CP2020 as a literal clone of Venice Beach and nowhere else? I imagined it like a Judge Dredd megacity; filled with corrupt corporates, crooked cops and enough gangs to make Chicago piss itself.
I hope they do release some DLC at a much later date, same with the witcher. Base game you can clock hundreds of hours in, but I still wouldn't mind paying more for quality, lengthy DLC like they did with blood and wine.

What is more - we (I mean Polish people) finally can be between top producers in one sector. Our music which was put on playlists all over the world - sucks (we don't have any worldwide famous artist or producers). Polish films - sucks (also there isn't any blockbuster in our pocket). But games... The Witcher made some standards. Женя Перминов well they're not the same company of the first 2 witcher games, CD matured a lot so i'm pretty optimistic that they'll achieve all the goals setted during the development
Женя Перминов Witcher has had ist problems, but it was a really really solid game nevertheless. I trust cd projekt and their tactics. Id be worried more about beyond good and evil 2 though (kinda similiar vibe for me), but still hope for the best

Edgerunners exist.

6 full years after this trailer, the dream has come true. After many patches and community mods, this is truly the next generation game we were promised.
Nope 😂
not at all, this didnt live up to all the hype world once had
Oui, un vrai chef d’oeuvre
nope. is it better than release? after the fix updates, yes. is it as they said it will be? no. and instead of adding new things like they did in Witcher 3 with the DLC's, they spend their time adding things that should be in the game at release. the didn't add anything new like Witcher 3 DLC's.
HIDDEN TEXT IN THE TRAILER IS AS FOLLOWS:
It's been over 2077 days since we announced our plan to develop Cyberpunk 2077. We released a CGI trailer, gave some interviews and... went dark. Normal procedure for these kinds of things - you announce a game and then shut up, roll up your sleeves, and go to work. We wanted to give you The Witcher 3 and both expansions first, which is why this period of staying silent was longer than we planned. Sorry for that.
As soon as we concluded work on Blood and Wine we were able to go full speed ahead with CP2077's pre-production. But we chose to remain silent. Why? At some point, we made a decision to resume talking about the game only when we have something to show. Something meaningful and substantial. This is because we do realise [sic] you've been (im)patiently waiting for a very long time, and we wouldn't want anyone to feel that we're taking this for granted. On the contrary - it gives us a lot of extra motivation. The hype is real, so the sweat and tears need to be real, too :).
But to the point. Today is the day. If you're seeing this, it means you saw the trailer - our vision of Cyberpunk, an alternative version of the future where America is in pieces, megacorporations control all aspects of civilised [sic] life, and gangs rule the rest. And, while this world is full of adrenaline, don't let the car chases and guns mislead you. Cyberpunk 2077 is a true single player, story-driven RPG. You'll be able to create your own character and..., well, you'll get to know the rest from what we show at our booth at E3. Be on the lookout for previews!
Before we finish, you probably have some questions, right?
When? When we told you we would only release the game when it's ready, we meant it. We're definitely much, much closer to a release date than we were back then :), but it's still not the time to confirm anything, so patience is still required. Quality is the only thing that drives us - it's the beauty of being an independent studio and your own publisher.
How big? Seriously big, but..., to be honest, we have no bloody clue at this point in time. Once we put it all together, we will openly tell you what you can expect. And we promise we'll do this before we start talking about any pre-orders or ask anything of you.
Free DLC/Expansions/DRM? Expect nothing less than you got with The Witcher 3. As for DRM, CP2077 will be 100% DRM-free on PC.
Microtransactions? In a single player role-playing game? Are you nuts?
Once again, thank you for your patience. If you have a minute, do visit cyberpunk.net and share your opinion (about anything) with us. We read everything you post and we treat it very seriously.

Maybe we dreamt a little to big
I'm starting to think Rockstar spoiled us. While it's true that they should stop milking GTA Online, you can't deny they're the best at creating cities that feel alive. Night City looks absolutely stunning, but it feels dead, it's a city full of robots instead of stupid humans.
"The most believable city in any open world game ever", and now they're calling expecting what was advertised "unrealistic expectations"
Bro this comment is so underrated
Yup..we should have tempered our expectations
Yes, people dreamed wayyyy to big. Still a good game tho
Returning after that emotional trauma V faced in Phantom Liberty. Hands down one of the best games ever made, thank you CDPR, and this trailer still is a badass
