I had the good fortune to see this performance when he toured it world wide and it came to Melbourne in 1981. The man who held the banners introducing the vignettes had MASSIVE quads. At the start of one, the spot light came up on him, and he was standing, bent over backwards, head almost on the floor. He slowly raised himself (and the banner) to the full vertical like a machine. Try it yourself! You'll soon see how hard this stuff is!

This guy was never that great. Never saw the big deal w him.
I've seen street performers doing pop n lock moves that are 1000xs better than this guy. If he was good id give him credit...but hes just not that great...nothing I haven't seen amateurs doing their first week in a improv class.

Sounds a bit like comparing the original Star Trek with Next Gen or DS9. Without the original we wouldn't have the improved versions. Marcel Marceau was the first. Or like comparing Bill Baliey's 'Moonwalk' in 1955 to Michael Jackson's 'Moonwalk' or Billy Eilish's 'room walk' on SNL to Lionel Richie's Dancing on the Ceiling, which was lifted from Fred Astaire's 1951 ceiling dance in the movie 'Royal Wedding'. There is always an originator to any idea.

Damn, no appreciation of the legends. He paved the way for many. My sensei, who I consider one of the best dancers in the world, learned from this guy and highly regards him.

Well, indeed there are many who can have things greater than the legend. As teacher can be smaller than his students capacity as they have greater things beyond the teacher, so is those who have greater things more than the legend. But, it is no right to compare, for each has its own things and that makes it unique. Therefore, the teacher will be glad and rejoices for them, for he had seen they are all awesome in their own way. Thus, we should still honor the legend who had done his things while respecting others who have done so. Do not compare!

You are right. This is absolute dog shit and people who claim they like this dude are just saying that because they have a desire to be ''different''. This guy has the entertainment value of a paper bag soaked in piss
