need to learn how to palm the reel instead of busting your knuckles, because you get a big salmon or even a big trout and smack a knuckle you gonna feel it or possibly lose a fish.
@@SCYCOFISHINGHUNTING you cup your hand instead of getting knuckle busters from the handle on the side with the handle i think it was your left side so take your left hand under the reel using it to carefully slow the spool as the edge the spool is where you do it keeping your thumb out the way, using your hand as the drag the old spring and pawl reels i think didn't have a drag system. kind of hard to explain the edge you can get your hand on without getting your fingers hit by the spool just be carful if you do it slow him a bit but dont over do it or you chance breaking your tip it.
