I test drove one of these a couple months back. It was a pretty nice vehicle. I really liked the divide and hide storage behind the back seat but only because I was looking at it from the perspective of I could carry my long gun in the vehicle and it would be completely concealed. The ride was good, feature content was good for the money and the 2.5 motor was actually a pretty decent performer. I don't know how these vehicles hold up long term but it seemed like a pretty good vehicle.
My wife has one and after 60K miles the only thing wrong has been the driver's power window switch. Some people crap all over them on forums but for the price they are really good vehicles. We've been cross country and back with zero complaints.
Decent vehicle overall. Excels at nothing in particular but all around good. Powerplant is on the weaker side, albeit more than adequate for a full passenger load, but being an old school normally aspirated 4 banger, you can flog the motor hard and still get good gas mileage (unlike in turbos). I suppose the best thing going about it is real world price.
Dave Allen the cvt could’ve did a lot more than that I’ve seen a 2017 rogue do more off roading that’s pretty much like driving on a dirt road in the snow any car would’ve been able to do that
@Dave Allen Agreed CVTs aren't ideal for pushing hard off road, but Mitsubishi's and Nissan's CVTs are far more robust than Subaru's, and have been pushed fairly hard during off road testing and held up quite well.
The temperature is 20 degrees F, you are driving 50 mph on dry payment, suddenly there is a 50 foot patch of ice. Then there is bare pavement again for another 50 feet and then another patch of ice for 150 feet. What does your car do; how does the car respond? Does the AWD keep things going straight?
He says the engine is "fairly beefy"...? Not when it takes nearly 10 seconds to 60mph it isn't. And while the 2021 provided the much needed upgrade in HP & Torque to 181 on both numbers. It still isn't nearly enough. And i don't trust the new 3cyl turbo either because i've been hearing a lot of complaints about engine surging and a whirring sound. They should have just stuck with a natural aspirated engine 4cyl. And just beefed up the HP & Torque.
Colorado got snow already. We're still waiting for it on Vancouver Island. All we get is rain From sheets of it to fine mist that makes your hair curl.
The rogue has no lsd AWD lock is like a basic 4wd system all it does is send 50% of the power to the rear and 50% to the front like the name says It locks the awd system so it doesn’t have to think about how much power the rear needs it’s already sending power to it
Great test on the off road capability and on the snows. I lives in the Midwest bought a Honda CRV AWD but that stupid SUV is feeling uneasy and unstable driving on snows/ice. The rear end tend to get gittery as you drives on snows so I'm looking to replace it. I had a 2013 Rav4 AWD and that is a sure foot on the snows and ices but this CRV is shitty. I'll now consider the Rogue as review here since it seems to very good on snows etc.. Thanks! Great Job!!
i have same nissan rogue so even do idid not turn on the (AWD LOCK) still working as a 4 wheel drive/awd or not im so confused about it and also if i turn on the (AWD LOCK) AT 25MPH it will turn off automatically is that normal and do i need to turn it back again need help .thanks
bati bot turn in your lock on and turn off traction control when you are stuck in deep snow or driving up a hill in snow or mud. Lock turns your rogue into a 4x4 but not past 30mph because it will damage the transmission. It will shut off after that speed is reached. Rogue gas one of the best AWD systems out there and having the ability to lock it and turn off the traction control is a huge + This is why I sold my 4x4 Chevy and Subaru and bought one of these. Remember good tires are key. He did this video on all season factory tires.
can you guys do 2017 acadia offroad? and I'm not taking 1 minute off road and then a review, i mean the whole video offroad. or on a trail. i want to see how it does off road

wtf????
@@salihalexanderesq.2243 I'm curious what you found odd about that guy's comment.

Probably some liberal wondering why you would want to put a long gun in a car.
My wife has one and after 60K miles the only thing wrong has been the driver's power window switch. Some people crap all over them on forums but for the price they are really good vehicles. We've been cross country and back with zero complaints.
I really like Nathan doing these off road reviews, he knows what he's doing!
I prefer Roman, Nathan babies the cars too much.
I remember one of his reviews, he slapped the brakelight-tail light ! Look at this beauty !! hahaaha

It's a tad sluggish because of the CVT but still does all right in traffic. I'm just a tad concerned about the CVT living past 100K miles.
love the interior update and the rims set it off looks like a mini pathfinder
On the 17” wheel option, you can get the 225/65R17 BFG A/T, so tire issue mentioned isn’t a real issue. ;)
So, you never gave your thoughts on the AWD system
where's the offroad test?

My mom has one but the most she's taken it offroad was on a gravel driveway

Nathan that's a Broncos hat living in Colorado is starting to convert you
The Rogue actually has a limited slip in the front AND the rear. Pretty cool.
No it doesn't, this is 100% false. No Rogue has ever had a true LSD installed from the factory
The rogue has no lsd AWD lock is like a basic 4wd system all it does is send 50% of the power to the rear and 50% to the front like the name says It locks the awd system so it doesn’t have to think about how much power the rear needs it’s already sending power to it
We love our rogue ❤️
It’s not my hummer h3 but it does great on snow and ice and dirt roads.
hey Nathan does it hold up well readability wise thanks Ryan
Wow a rogue video where they didn't shit all over it
I wouldn't describe the engine as "beefy". Also, I would have liked to hear about the quality of the suspension, and vulnerability of under-car parts.
I have a 2018 sv what do I need to do so I can upgrade it for overlanding

Well made very comprehensive.
You guys should do the same thing with the RAV4 the awd test
wish you would have showed the under the rear so we could see if it has electric motors for the rear wheels...i heard this car w going to be a hybrid
The one they had was the just a gas engine no electric motor he said that would’ve come out half way through the year
I just bought one I live in Nevada and wanted to see what it all can do I feel confident in my purchase
Looks cool

bati bot watch this
th-cam.com/video/X8xB9m152UQ/w-d-xo.html
Thought I was going to see the one with the GTR motor installed. Alas, just a rogue not a rouge.
wasn't that a juke GTR i dont think the rogue ever got a GTR prototype
word1901 he was talking about the Infiniti Q50 eau rouge
$31,300 out the door ??? I wish, Where do you live
really noisy background music
Much too loud
I love you guys
Did really good
That was pretty much like driving on a steep dirt road with some snow a car would’ve done that with a little bit of slipping
The Rogue is not Rouge it is Bleu ;-)
it not the first time they have done this lol
can you guys do 2017 acadia offroad? and I'm not taking 1 minute off road and then a review, i mean the whole video offroad. or on a trail. i want to see how it does off road
On average no one will by the SL... Wish it was the SV
What trail is that?
Deer Path from Montezuma Colorado.
Hey, they ripped off the GTI steering wheel.
Jeff K Really? It looks a hell of a lot more like a Mazda steering wheel.
Well, GTI wasn't using it soooo......
Do not worry Suzuki,KIA,and now Hyundai have copied almost everything Volkswagen is using lol.
Just test drove one and the engine is underpowered, I had to put the gas to the floor to merge and it was still painfully slow.
Andrew c stop its not that slow
Coz its cvt
Andrew c that has to have some balls my 2.4 Hyundai sonata has balls
bryan diaz right it has to be fast my sonata is a beast and it's a 2.4l stock
Andrew c Maybe you had it in eco mode?
beautiful small SUV but with less horsepower in this category.
3 star frontal crash test rating. Boooo
Anyone else feel like the steering wheel was taken directly from Mercedes
Dude you wasted my 5 minutes
Tfl is mostly talking and acting, and not much true testing of the vehicles ability.
