Finally back again! I've probably spent the last two-three months editing this video. I really wanted to get it perfect and to showcase the wonderful surroundings in the best way. It's a little bit different style than my previous videos, so I would love to get some feedback from you what you think about this format. Oh, and i'll be back in two weeks again with a jam-packed video from my first day in the Lofoten Islands.

My boyfriend and I plan to do this tour in 2024 and this video just makes me want to go right now. This is like watching a National Geographic Documentary Film. Excellent camera and drone shots, perfect selections of music, informative narrating, and breathtaking landscape that is hard to take in all the beauty.
Wow! This is the most inspirational cycling video I've ever seen. I'm an old, retired American living in Germany. Since I retired I've ridden twice from Aachen, Germany to Trondheim, Norway (plus a number of other tours in Central Europe). I suppose, at 72 years old, my dream of cycling to the North Cape is passed. But, last year I rode the Baltic Coast from the Polish/German border west to the North Sea without problem, so my old legs still have some miles left in them. What this video inspires me to do (before it's too late) is to at least make it from Bodø to Tromsø by bike. Thanks to this video, my plans start today for next summer. Maybe I'll celebrate my 73rd birthday on the road. Thanks for a wonderful video.
Glad you enjoyed the video. Bodö to Tromsö is a great trip to make. There are more services and lodging options along that route compared with the stretch between Tromsö and Nordkapp. Don't miss out on Senja and Sommaroy, those two are my favorites along the road.
Great picture setup, plenty of useful info as well. Moderate speech tempo, coupled with Scandinavian accent and lack of jargon make it easy to understand to non-native English listeners. Thank You.

I cycled to the North Cape in 1984 and started in the south of Norway, in Moss. I also took the detour over the Lofoten and the Vesterålen Islands. Beautiful video, thank you for the trip down memory lane.
@@BikeTouringMike Yes you did, and also reminded me of the hardships. I had my share of rain and hard wind along the way. There was a very strong wind from Honningsvåg to the North Cape.

Thanks Mike, fantastic video. Very nostalgic for me as I rode from Narvik to Nordkapp in 1985 and I recognise some of the scenes. The deep tunnel from the mainland to Magarøya didn't exist at that time so we had to take a ferry. Sorry to see the Lyngen mountains with so much bare rock. In Summer 1988, they were 99% snow covered. I wonder if this is a consequence of global warming?
Thank you Hertog! Yeah I was really surprised by the lack of snow up on the Sennalandet as well. I had expected a lot of snow up there, but there was hardly any there. This summer had been extremely warm according to the locals I spoke to. They told me that some reindeer had even wandered into the tunnels to take shelter from the sun and to cool down. The week before I arrived in Alta they had up to 30C for a couple of days straight. That's crazy to think about if you look at a map and realize how far up north it is.

Thanks Al! Except for Lofoten and close to the Cape there weren't that many RVs. But sometimes you ran into a long train of RVs or mototrcycles. My guess would be some sort of organized tour, probably German. Safety in numbers, you know. I caught that RV train by accident. I was just setting up the camera for a ride-by shot and they drove past the camera. Thought it was a bit amusing to count them. :-)
Wonderful vlog ❤️ 🇳🇴 Have been lucky to visit Norway 5 times and to me is the most beautiful country I’ve ever visited. Most trips have been to the western fjords and once to the Tromso area in the winter but still amazing with Sommaroy being the highlight which I believe I saw on this visit. Definitely want to visit Lofoten and Senja one day.

Haha! I didn't have any choice. If the shoes got wet they would've stayed wet for the rest of the trip. Nothing dries when it's that cold.

Done it from Tromso to Reine in an autumn, it was the most beautiful thing i did.
That's a really scenic ride. I rode around Senja during autumn of 2020 and it was great. Hardly any tourists around.

Yes, 30C in Alta is completely crazy! Probably the same week we saw 40C here in UK.

Wonderful vlog ❤️ 🇳🇴 Have been lucky to visit Norway 5 times and to me is the most beautiful country I’ve ever visited. Most trips have been to the western fjords and once to the Tromso area in the winter but still amazing with Sommaroy being the highlight which I believe I saw on this visit. Definitely want to visit Lofoten and Senja one day.
