Absolutely amazing work putting this together. Superb editing and great storytelling, I was genuinely hoping the limping 111 would make it back. Thank you for your hard work.
Spectacular! We were trained to fire at moving aircraft in the army and were taught to create a wall of bullets for the aircrafts to fly into by firing well in front of them... This video was well done, I really enjoyed it!
YES ! -I Really enjoyed that. It looked pretty life-like the way things moved. That's probably the best look at an HE 111 we'll ever get to see really... Thanks people.
There are all kinds of IL-2 vids all over TH-cam, and then there are ZEXTEXY's. You stand alone sir in the quality of your productions. My wife knows only a bit about WW2, and even less bout gaming. But I tell ya, she will sit and watch Zextexy's videos with me and enjoy them as she would a motion picture. Outstanding Zextexy, just outstanding.
Good graphics. The He111s remind me of my mother's account of seeing one coned by searchlights over Newcastle-upon-Tyne. A battery of 3.7in AA guns concentrated on it, and despite the pilot's attempts to escape the lights and flak, it was shot down with just one young crew member escaping death. A guy I worked with in the late 1960s-1970s, told me that while playing with other kids in South Bristol, a Heinkel 111 coming back from a raid on Rolls Royce and Bristol Aeroplane Company, flew very low over them and the nose gunner had a pop at them. They pressed themselves against doorways, and escaped the gun fire.
No wonder why the Battle of Britain was won. These HE111s are too exposed to our spitfires and hurricanes that the Germans lost more than the British have despite their ME 109s escorts which would have fly over London for ten minutes.
The amazing realism of these graphics means that the only way you could gain a better appreciation of what it was like to take part in a raid by He111's would be to fly one! Thanks for posting
The swastika is banned in several countries. The video with swastika image would be banned by TH-cam team after first complaint. So if you want to see such videos about german warbirds, please be satisfied with that kind of sign on the tail.
BTW, youtube is full of swastikas. in most countries swastikas are not allowed to be used for propaganda purposes only, it is perfectly legal to use them in vids like this. Germany is exception: there's zero tolerance towards any swastikas, even if it is on ancient roman coin. That is the reason why Revell (germany) model kits contain no swastikas, but others does have them included. Self-censorship is XXI century disease...
This is masterpiece of Great Work! Really Beautiful video editing that you spent a lot of time on, too! I thoroughly enjoyed watching this IL2 BOS. Combat flight simulator movie! Thanks for sharing.
That yoke assembly is interesting the way it comes up the right side of the pilot's legs and then turns, crosses over, and the "steering" (not really steering but you know what I mean), is then in front of the pilot. I believe Oberst (Colonel) Hajo Herrmann, a notable German Pilot in WWII and also lawyer defending Nazi's after the war, flew the HE-111 in combat. Herrmann was pilot who came up with the idea of using BF109's as night fighters in the early days of when flying combat missions at night became more of a tactic used by both the Allies and Axis Powers. He created a unit called the "Wild Boars" using the BF109's to supplement what Wolfgang Falck was creating with the BF110's being used as night fighters and being equipped with much more sophisticated equipment including on-board radar in the latter days of the war. The Heinkel 219 UHU (Owl) night fighter, which came in the latter days of WWII was one of the most advanced fighters of it's day, and one of only two created specifically for night missions, the other being the American P-61 Black Widow. Night fighting required much more extensive training and usually only the most capable pilots were selected to be trained as a night fighter pilot. These pilots had to learn instrument flying (a very important part of night flying) as the first introduction into being a night fighter pilot. If you couldn't fly instruments only, you couldn't be a night fighter pilot. There is a very good book about night fighting/flying combat written by Hauptman (Captain) Wilhem Johnen who was a German night fighter pilot.
Great production! Loved the radio bit in the middle with the translations, that was awesome. My favorite scenes were flying over the train and the carpet bombing just awesome work.

The couldn't believe their eyes and pressed dislike or simply confused the most authentic WW2 aircraft flight simulator with the bad joke called "War Thunder"! Thanks for sharing this unique video!
The song at min 9:00 "Ein Heller und ein Batzen " is still popular in Germany today. A heller is a small silver coin, about a workers wage for one day. The Batzen is a gold coin showing a bear, a "Betz". Of course, the Batzen went to wine.
Impressive ,great graphics ,loved it & never seen the inside of a Heinkel 111 except in an airfix kit but then that was a different world and we had air rifles. Brilliant
amazing video never watch such a IL2 one's,the HE111 was an incredible warmachine,i wonder how was the bomb compartment, really fun to see the bombs rotate when they leave the belly of this beast... and this cockpit so unic... very nice simulation...
Imagine if they made this for Xbox One, it would be beautiful. Birds of Steel on simulator is certainly enjoyable but this has that extra umph with sound, full interior of some planes, smoke looks better. This is truly one of the best videos I've seen, it captures everything I want in a game like this, just to be immersed in the historical and iconic planes like these.
I enjoy this video greatly... ( I took a walk inside the HE-111 stationed at Falcon Field in Mesa, Az some months before it was lost...such a loss.) I will be expecting to see more of these videos from your channel.

Best camera work I've seen in a long time, which goes beautifully with the beautiful graphics and stunning action. I demand moar!
THis reminds me of the Battle of Britain movie camera work. Especially loved the view of the air battle from the ground.

I played Il-2 when it first came out years ago. I thought those graphics were impressive but these? OMG! This is incredible!
I always wondered what it would be like to fly a mission in an He111. Now I know. INCREDIBLE GRAPHICS. Fantastic video, thanks.

Brilliant mission with extraordinary realism. Nicely done Zetexy.
What an awesome video! It is so life like and realistic i got pulled in to the story and hoped the HE 111's made it back ok!
A very clear work of passion... There is a lot going on here. Lots of hours planing and editing.

I really liked the radiopart in the plane, that they were listening on the radio on the way to the bombing run. The crew even sang along!
