You forgot to mention how hikaru decided to bash alirezas family and had to protect his ego by bringing up his record against alireza in the candidates.
not to mention trying to cancel Chessbrah livelihood ...what a manbaby
Yeah they totally missed the big story of chess
Thanks for the spoiler alert, will skip this video.
NGL anyone can say whatever about me IDC, but don't drag my family and friends into this shit.
Yeah Soo disrespectful of hikaru
Why are you trying to Water down Firouzja’s victory. So obvious you want to please Hilkaru.
The fact that Fabi is spreading his legs to Hikaru is insane, what is he scared of?
He could establish a legacy as one of the best chess players of this era, but he just settled as a manchild's puppet. Disappointing
your take on hikaru-alireza is laughably biased
Happy to see that this comment section agrees. Guys, that was not a class act. Show some balls.
Damn i really didnt know how scary hikaru is to american chess community until i saw this podcast. This was like a tribute to their Godfather , damn.
The first time I don't see your views unbiased! How can you somewhat defend Hikaru!
No. Let’s be very clear. Hikaru only complained after he lost six games in a row. That has zero connection with the start delay. It’s pure gamesmanship. And it does Hikaru no credit at all. I’ve defended him a lot but I will not defend this. It’s very poor behaviour, and I bet he knows it, and I think you do too.
This is simply a lie. Why lie? he was complaining from before the first game and even when he was up
You are 100% right, couldnt agree more. Hikaru did agree to a break. Then acted like a beta male and throwing tantrums when he saw he was losing. You think if he was ahead and he was leading 9 to 4 he would have done that? Never
He was complaining before even the game started because aliroza got free rest which is against the role
@@chronicsway43 Nonsense. He played the first seventeen games, then after losing six in a row, he got up and walked away. If he did complain before that, he still agreed to go ahead and play, because that’s what he did.
@@spnhm34 It's not "nonsense". It's literally just objective reality. He openly stated how angry he was multiple times before the match started. That's simply what happened. There's no room for opinion there.
He managed to control himself to start with, but after losing one or two the anger boiled over and he tilted. He almost certainly wouldn't have tilted if the match had started on time, or if he had been properly notified in advance instead of being left confused and in the dark.
Alireza won the second match fair and square. And Hikaru ended up looking like a petulant child; I lost a lot of respect for him after all the things he said. But don't rewrite history just because you don't like the guy.
either you're very uninformed or you're being really scaredy by refusing to call out Hikaru's disgusting behaviour. Just watch the live footage to see how openly disrespectful and vulgar he was, or watch Aman Hambleton's latest video for info on how Hikaru had AGREED to give Alireza a break before the match, for perfectly good reasons
I did not expect from Fabi to colloborate with a jerk sitting next to him that I dont even know his name. What a shambles.
@@movieshistory768 cmon man that's Chris Chirila...they've always had this podcast together
@@giovannivannicelli does he always lick Hikarus ball?
Christian trying to find excuses for Hikaru is just pathetic. Hikaru himself said that his problem was with Alireza being able to beat him while he said he was tired.
He is a pathetic guy who looks like idiots
Exactly. I thought it is just me who realised that. He literaly tried to wash the story fir Hikaru. Shame!
looks like he doesn't want to lose his spot as commentator on Hikaru's channel
you guys should rest with the clownery.
@@_adeniyi_ you should rest with licking Hikarus balls though
It's expected from Chirila to not call out Hikaru for his bad behavior as he's a regular commentator on Hikaru's channel but for Fabi to gloss over it while discussing every other thing in detail is pretty disappointing. Your silence is deafening and Hikaru won't be able to live this down so easily.
that romanian guy is as disgusting as Hikaru himself
Maybe they recorded this before they drama unfolded
Yeah whats gonna Happen to hikaru? 😂
If you don't have the balls to call out Hikaru then maybe doing a chess podcast is not for you
Well said ! This was a complete waste of viewers time and their own time. I guess these two dont have any idea of podcast concept
daddy would ban him
If everyone else has a news article about a known quantity (Hikaru is a bad sport), do you need to ask pros 'hey, is Hikaru a bad sport'?
It's a waste of breath.
well its not like fabi a chess player wouldnt understand the situatuion but TedThomasTT would ofcourse chess fans sure love drama
@@rehan4783 the problem is they are happy to comment on all chess drama apart from this it seems
zero mention of Hikaru's behavior but critiquing Alireza. commentary gambit, I guess (?!)
Cannot believe two adults yet professional chess players sharing thoughts about the Hikaru incident so biased. You guys should feel the responsibility to speak up. This is so bad, I'm very disappointed.
It’s like the Hollywood celebs when smith slapped Rock, they didn’t know how to behave
Hikari vs Alireza event order:
1. Hikaru was not happy with Alireza resting
2. Hikaru agreed for Alireza to rest for 20 min
3. They played the matched
4. Hikaru lost 5 or 6 games in a row
5. Hikaru started throwing tantrums and acting like a kid (at this stage if Hikaru was ahead 5 or 6 games he would have never flinched) The fact that he saw he is being crushed, he started throwing tantrums
If he agree to the rest and played in the beginning he should stay quiet, focus on the game and move on. OR he shouldn't have agreed. Throwing tantrum like a child when losing just gonna make you look like a child.
Specially how he went on and did a personal attack and called his family "crazies" like is this how world number 2 should act?
Want to add that Alireza already played Sam And Naroditsky before his match against Hikaru. There was supposed to be a 15 minute break before the start of the first match between him and Hikaru. But, due to a technical issue occuring during his match against Sam the match ended a lot later than it was scheduled to. And Alireza didn't get the break he expected and requested that a break be given.
Also, Hikaru didn't exactly mind the delay. His whole complaint was Alireza feigned tiredness before the game yet went on to embarrass him like he was in peak fitness. 😆
I root for Hikaru, but I am not a fan. And situations like this are why. It is not the first time he has demonstrated similar poor behavior and judgment. Do better, Naka. yikes. can't imagine Neymar or Lebron being such a child and poor sport in a fair loss.
Plus: he told Alireza, "Who the F### do you think you are" and called Alireza's father and brother "crazies"
@@nowhitplyNeymar ? Man you knew football for sure if you think that guy is fairplay
plus, hikaru named alireaza "little bi@tch" ...
Hikaru’s reaction was uncalled for. Absolutely bad example for the game
This is pathetic. How you do not acknowledge Hikaru’s role is so hilarious. Expected more from this pod
Imagine being in your 30s and having a temper tantrum on stream that a 5 year old would be ashamed of, calling your opponent's father and brother crazy, insulting your opponent to his face (virtually) and cussing him out too. And after all of that, you still have people that defend you. Alireza asked the organisers for a break which he should have been given anyway. If Hikaru had a problem he should have spoken to the organisers about it, not be a sore human being and insult his opponent who didn't say one bad thing about him. But hey, Hikaru's American so everyone will turn a blind eye to whatever he does.
Grown ass man with the emotional control of an ipad generation toddler
His part of the fan base who are toxic af are the reason he gets away with everything and your last sentence is also the reason.
I dont like Hikaru too
But lets be honest, his father and brother indeed crazy, lol
Everyone who follow chess know that
His father always angry and make drama in all events he invited
And his brother always insult Alireza's opponent
Even when Magnus beat him,his brother keep mubling 'lucky lucky lucky,he is so lucky,he only winning because he's lucky' on stream
His father and brother is annoying and crazy, that's a fact
Hikaru always shows his true colors.he is a disgrace to the chess world
@@dereknichols4376when you have a father that left you when you were child and start a new family and than say others father are crazy is bold alireza could butcher him with insults but chose not to because unlike hikaru his not a sore loser
Very weak and absurd discussion on BCC which was literally the most exciting thing happening in the chess world. You don't to make Hikaru mad or something? come on, i expected more from you guys. What Hikaru did was borderline unprecedentedly awful.
Hikaru literally cared
And after 6 loses cursed Alirezas family 😂 he didn’t care but got to his senses after the loses 🫡
He didn’t mention about hikarus odd behaviour in his stream but said every little details about Ali reza...
Bravo!!
Maybe reading a little too much into this, but maybe Fabi sympathizes with Hikaru because he's a top level competitor. He probably cares more about Alireza saying he's going to forfeit the match unless he gets his break than he cares about Hikaru losing his temper and acting poorly. Just a guess though. Won't know that unless Fabi comes out and says he supports one side or the other.
I see this as Fabi not wanting to jump in to the conversation just to echo others - it's a waste of breath.
Do we need Fabi to mention more about Hikaru? Everyone who has followed chess more than 1 year knows about Hikaru, and literally everyone else in the chess world has a clip already.
OTOH, the story is presented generally with Alireza as faultless, so that actually is new info.
@@t-spark I damn sure wouldn't call Alireza faultless. In fact, even though Hikaru was in the wrong, I sympathize more with him than Alireza. People keep saying that Hikaru agreed to the break, but at the end of the day, what choice did he have? He was very clearly arguing about it before hand. It's not like anyone was ok with losing money by not having grand finals play out, when they have the most viewers. In fact, I don't think it'd be a stretch to say that if Hikaru refused the arbiters might have just said get bent, he's getting his break, deal with it.
@@MistaOppritunity are you blaming Alireza for the delays during the Sevian match? the break was scheduled, the delays effected that, I think it's fair to give Gucci a break after already playing 3 matches, one of which had only just concluded. Did Alireza actually threaten to forfeit? I haven't seen anything to back that up.
@@davidjames149from what I understand, alireza did threaten to forfeit the match if he didn't get a 20mins break, which imo is really scummy. Tho I get the need for a break after just having played.
Talk about the hikaru nakamura sportsmanship award
Hikaru: Who tf do you think you are?
Alireza2025: Your fsking nighmare.
At least have a backbone and rightfully call Hikaru out with being cowards!
Call him out for what? Chess fans are so dramatic, always trying to make a big deal out of nothing.
Fabi has as much backbone as an octopus so you're asking a lot from him 🤣.
@@jgreen802he said Alireza was ‘crying like a little b*tch’, that’s something
@@gusleffers9265Not really, Alireza has a history of throwing temper tantrums when he doesn't get his way. Off the top of my head I can think of 2 occasions when he's done that. Once when he was asked to switch boards at a tournament and once at the candidates when the arbiters politely told him he was walking too loud. Also, his dad was thrown out of the playing hall during the candidates for arguing with arbiters. Everything Hikaru said about him is true, although choosing to bring it up after a loss does make him come off as a sore loser, but that shouldn't be a surprise to anyone who follows Hikaru.
@@jgreen802 you a jerk just like the guy you follow called Hikaru Nakamura
Why is that when alireza wins something its luck or others were not playing well? He could get tilted after hicky called him names to his face and on live stream but he didnt! Hichy only complained when he started losing back to back.he was fine with it the first 10 or so games games. Disrespecting him was never ok, no matter the break was just or not.
this show licks us players balls
hahahah, a fanboy, he is waiting for a hikaro interview, can't make daddy upset...
Chirilla:
1. When alireza won against hikaru it was because hikaru tilted
2. When alireza won against magnus it was because of luck
Huh?? Like WTF?
Hikaru has always been a bully. You should not make excuses for him
You completely forget Hikaru's disgusting behaviour and the technical difficulties that costed alireaza precious resting time. This episode really felt biased.
It is like a joke that you say “Hikaru had sponsored problem I guess” and give him right to say f words by considering your imagination.
Be a man and see Alireza’s situation.
He did something you can’t see in your dreams
yup i said it too. He should be the bigger man, but now its the small man.
The audience was deprived of a possible adoption but you excuse the perennial Hikaru Nakamura Sportsmanship Awardee with a business deal? You never addressed the rage quit and the bullying. Just say you're scared of Hikaru.
Christian is a good mama's boy. Hiki's the mama.
I hope they bring out the Alireza/Hikaru discussion up again in the next episode and clear things up unbiasedly and give the proper credit to Alireza who has always been a monster in bullet
This is such BS. He insulted his family and yelled at him, and you are giving him a pass.
Hikaru: Who tf do you think you are?
Alireza2025: Your nightmare, sir.
Alireza is a true genius beating Hikaru six times in a row!
Everytime you lose six times in a row is called " The Taimanov/Larsen syndrom "
Alireza got lucky
But if it was magnus you would say the magnus effect😂
yea, Alireza won because he was better. Not luck.
hahahah, a fanboy, he is waiting for a magnus interview, can't make daddy upset...
@@hqcart1 dude are you ok? you're copy pasting the same reply under multiple comments. what's triggered you so badly?
@@davidjames149 u fanboy too?
Fabiano we respect you too much for you to be behaving like this lol
Hikaru called Alireza and his family "crazies", said Alireza was behaving "like a little b**ch" etc. Sure that's how a professional should behave
Alireza might have gone about asking for the break in a more civil way but Hikaru’s reaction I feel was unnecessarily dramatic. He became quite arrogant after all was said and done and really came off as a sore loser imo.
The thing is, Alireza did not ask for a break. He said he wants to forfeit and it took them the time to convince him. Hikaru's problem is not even with the break, it is that Alireza just lied by saying he was tired, while capable of playing good chess which does not even make sense.
@@xqs329 So I can insult you, your father and your brother and you have no problem with that, right ?! Go make more excuses, Alireza beat his ass and yeah Alireza was doing him a favor by saying that he did not want to participate in the final. your streamer dude is nothing more than a simple GM and a simple streamer, he is not Magnus, he is not Fabi and ... I want to see Alireza beat his ass more and more until he retires.
Threatening to forfeit is also pretty dramatic if you ask me.
@@xqs329 Hikaru is literally Alirezas dad age wise but in reality Gucci behaves way more maturely. Hikaru is just pathetic
If it was gamesmanship by Alireza then that’s poor form from him I suppose. He can be quite immature, even though I am one of his supporters. It’s hard for me to buy that Hikaru was somehow impacted by this, however. Was Hikaru expecting a weaker performance and let his guard down? Did he feel that a slight advantage was taken away from him?
At the level these guys play at, and with someone as notoriously tricky and talented at bullet as Alireza, Hikaru was never going to have an easy time of it so his surprise about his opponent’s level of play is foolish and arrogant.
Didn’t even address Hikaru’s childish behaviour. So biased. So ridiculous.
I want fabi to react to a video on TH-cam which is edited:”Hikaru’s reaction to losing ali reza”
Imagine having a chess podcast and not addressing real chess drama
Worst episode so far! Not giving Alireza credit even though he has won the bullet championship before as well and now he is the current champion - and goving excuses for Hikaru! So disappointing from Fabi (for the first time)
pathetic hikaru defending 💀
Hikaro simply didn't want to be adopted by Alireza and all this fuss started because of that
Was really looking forward to your guys take on the Hikaru-Firouzja match….but I’m extremely disappointed with not of you after watching the video
Hikaru trying to cancel chessbrah is also not mentioned here but equally important and despicable
It always seems to me like alireza has slept with most chess players girlfriends by the way they speak about him
Hikaru did agree to a break. Then acted like a beta male and throwing tantrums when he saw he was losing. You think if he was ahead and he was leading 9 to 4 he would have done that? (such a child tbh - but I get it losing twice must be hard for him)
Do you know what a beta male means, Hikaru was more Gamma
@@gamma9141 hahaha good one
@@MJ-xg2ow thanks man, beta males are the sweetest guys on planet Earth. And this Hikaru clown is no where close to being a beta. He is a pseudo Alpha a Gamma, who thinks he wields the respect of people, but people see him as a disgusting clown.
Really disappointed you didn’t call out Hikaru’s behaviour, thought you guys had integrity
Absolutely
I don't get Hikaru's argument. He's complaining that Alireza is playing well :D. What is he supposed to do? Play bad so that he can beat him?
Why didn't you talk about the delays and technical difficulties that Sevian/Alireza experienced? Not only that, but baby boy agreed to the break, then threw a fit after he was losing. Something's off with this video, and it makes me question your reliability as an informative podcaster.

Really poor one sided program.
Great podcast but disappointing episode. Im gonna leave a dislike because you dont call out Hikaru’s awful behavior.
If alireza beat magnus twice because of luck mr Christian then he is the luckiest man alive
How does a business problem end up with you insulting your opponent's family? IN THE MIDDLE OF THE MATCH?? When you've agreed to a condition you've agreed to it. You can't go back on it just because you're losing. That's the problem here.
This is why I love chessbrah. Those chaps might be crazy but they are objective. CALL OUT AND CONDEMN UNSPORTSMANSHIP. Especially from influential players.
why did you completely skip hikaru going on rant against alireza/ chessbrahs etc that was the whole interesting thing about it lol
I used to idolise Hikaru but lately he been making some poor decisions, promoting gambling now this bs reverting back to his early stream toxic behaviour. If christian actually knew his toxic behaviour then he wouldnt defend him. Why yall arent calling him out for being so unprofessional and cursing the f word on his stream, calling alireza family crazy, and randomly calling out chessbrah for canceling him. Sure the break definitely shouldn't be allowed but cursing the f word?? And then he stars saying no drama bruh. Alireza def deserved every credit. If some1 calls my family crazy i wouldnt hesitate to use physical response.
Break was planned but matches were delayed because of Sevian internet issues
@@gagagagagagagaism wow that just makes things more unnecessary cus he's basically ranting cus he was lost by 4 to 5 points
I think Hikaru’s own comments made it clear it wasn’t business related.
I don’t know y they gave Hikaru an excuse for his losing?! Hikaru didn’t expect Alireza will be that strong so he made an excuse for his losing by saying the problem is Alireza had break. If you great player you don’t get effected by bullshit things like “he had a break “. Alireza always in the final in bullt chess and he beat Hikaru in 2021 and didn’t play in 2022 and 2023. That is y Hikaru always wins the tournament.
He did play in 2023 and got beat by hikaru. Were you not paying attention? They’ve also played thousands of bullet games online and hikaru dominates by a 3/1 margin
Actually he played in 2023,but lost to Hikaru+Magnus and got eliminated
@@dereknichols4376 Gucci beat Hikaru in 2022 BCC final
Misinformation isn’t needed to make a point. They both are capable bullet chess players. Hikaru showed poor sportsmanship here
If it was a business related issue, why did Hikaru threaten to quit mid match? To make business even worse?
I enjoy this podcast, but you all should be embarrassed by this episode. If you don't have the courage and decency to speak truthfully about how abhorrent Hikaru's behavior was, then don't talk about it at all. Many of your viewers may have not seen the clips of Hikaru's stream, and their opinion on the incident will be based mostly on this podcast here. If this is how you are going to conduct your podcast, I won't bother watching in the future.
‘courage and decency’ - well put!
Hikaru insulted Alireza and his family, and Alireza just crushed him, it was the best Answer, in my eyes is Hikaru a bad looser
Absolute weak podcast, not mentioning hikaru s childish behavior.
Yeah. Posting this video was not your finest moment...
i feel like christians argument is really weak it depends on an assumption and even then you have to look at alirezas situation.
the romanian guy licks Hikarus balls all the time
Fabiano trying to be diplomatic is a failed attempt to look objective. It seems that integrity is not an attribute of the podcast. Disappointing.
Really poor take on the Hikaru Gucci saga.
My favorite podcast but this wasn’t a very good episode, it’s quite biased towards hikaru.
I am sick of this relentless criticism of Alireza. If Magnus had demanded a break nothing would have been said. What have these American presenters have against him. Hakaru was completely outplayed & reacted badly like a spoilt child

everybody forgets that the Grand Final was supposed to take place the day after. It's Hikaru who asked in the first place to have it on June 13th !
Alireza provoked some crazy chess clips this year, from the Magnus bottle throwing to Hikaru going off. He's a mad lad when he wants to. Glad he's got wins after such a contentious road to Candidates. He seems best when having fun.

Hikaru AGREED for the break. Then he should upholds that agreement and not cry like a baby.
I personally think Hikaru’s behaviour was absolutely shocking. Insulting Alireza AND his family? This type of behaviour is not acceptable in a professional environment. There should be consequences for that. I love your podcast, but I am disappointed that you glossed over that part.
You should've approached the issue logically and impartially. It's evident that Alireza defeated Magnus and Hikaru in two recent events.
Now you say: "... Of course, Alireza won over Magnus by luck..(!!!!)"
When we judge in that way, we are not deceiving anyone but ourselves. When there's a shining star in the sky, we can't deny its existence by closing our eyes.

Hikaru has so much influence in the chess community, and it seems he is protected from severe criticism for that reason, even if he treats people inappropriately and disrespectfully. This is such a biased or coward take. Clearly skirting around the things Hikaru did.
If you don't have guts to talk about it in detail or properly, then just don't talk about it. Right now you're painting Alireza in a very negative way because you're not talking about Hikaru much when the truth is that Hikaru's behavior is far from acceptable.

Dear oh dear. Why SPECULATE when there are footages? Hikaru never mentioned anything about business yadiyadiyada. It's very clear, and this is based on Hikaru's words, he is tired of Alireza's shenanigans (the loud shoes, calling out arbiters, etc.) and this incident is his boiling point.
