The arm-crossed Gainax pose is the only pose I'd ever want a Gunbuster figure in, it's so dang iconic. That this one can do it makes it my favorite already!
for those wondering Shokugan Modeling Project is a rebranded Super Minipla probably to differentiate it more to the standard Minipla line and the Alternative Destiny sub-line is a radical redesign of the mecha that omits the transformation gimmick for better articulation.
I just got one of these last week I can’t wait to build it. So gorgeous. I adore this redesign so much! Aoshima kits are always awesome though and I don’t doubt it’s a better value and great quality. I don’t mind painting
I hope you do a review of the Super Inazuma Kick expansion set for this Gunbuster. It addresses the lack of accessories, and looks like it takes this kit to whole new level in terms of looks.
Prepainting usually ups the cost. It looks nice though and I rather pay more for the color separation of prepainting rather than color correcting stickers.
The Japanese price of this kit was pretty excellent for what you get. Not sure why importers are charging almost double the price for this one in particular but it's worth grabbing if you like the design. Very sturdy and satisfyingly simple.
bacause for some shitty reason Bandai decided to make all SMP (situation for PR/SS is weird) technically P-bandai releases. Even though in japan you can buy it in store. It just feels like a fuck you to international customers
While the design is not anime accurate, the SMP Alternative Destiny Gunbuster blows away the Aoshima ACKS Gunbuster with its more solid build and sturdier plastics. The Infinite Super Inazuma Kick expansion set really takes the kit over the top with a weapons rack that gives it a Game of Thrones feel.
Hi ZA. I hv a question. What is SMP? I as of now, kinda interested to get SMP Crush Gear. I dont really plan to battle with it. But i do want to mod the kit to make it move. What do you know about SMP Crush Gear?
the original price for this is actually cheaper than the aoshima model, however places like BBTS tend to resell these for more than twice the price, I wanted the aoshima one, but that's more than disscontinued, while I've been seeing this one on various places
Is there some type of legal loophole with candy toys that I'm not aware of? Seems kind of silly to put a tiny piece of candy in a HG sized kit just to make it a candy toy. Candy toys I had as a kid all had a decent amount of candy and a small toy consisting of only a few pieces.
I wouldn't be surprised if there is a legal loophole but I assume that candy toys are place in the more favorable locations in a store probably where impulse buys are located.

I didn’t find certain joints to be that stable while moving it around but if you don’t mess with it much it’s fine yeah

pre-painted parts should always be under-gated.
I was thinking the same thing: how can you cut those off without hideous nub marks? Not like you can sand them.

It is! The super robot/sentai stuff doesn’t appeal to me that much but I like this one and I reviewed the Aoshima kit so I wanted to compare them

The Aoshima kit also requires painting. The stickers that come with the Aoshima kit are horrible. Curved stickers are never good.
There are option weapon set for this kit which looks crazy tho

Shoulders put it taller than than a standard 1/100 Gundam but the body itself would be slightly smaller
