"The Road Most Traveled" is by far my favorite song from Morrowind, and funnily enough I subconsciously associate it with Fathis. Your characters are always a joy, Dave
I hope Fathis gets that Choking Grasp spell eventually. It feels like his style. As would Entomb if you find it later. The spell that interrupts other mages is also quite fun.
@@devonchafe2764 Oh yea I almost forgot about that one. I loved it since it actually got me to use temporary buffs. IIRC I had mine set up to do the highest tier of oakflesh, a health restoring spell, and this really cool AoE Soul Trap effect. Really makes you feel like a powerful wizard when they all trigger on combat for no cost. Also I just dont use those spells otherwise.
@@HumphreyHorsehead ouuu that's cool! Yeah I usually do an armor spell, a restoration spell that gave me back stamina when I blocked and a destruction spell the did some extra elemental damage on power attacks
Hi Dave. I've been watching and loving your content since "I, Claudius." I recently took it upon myself to watch the Fathis LP in its entirety only to find you've launched this LP just after I've started Vol. I can't tell you how much I want to watch this series as it happens, but I feel obligated to experience Fathis's *entire* story, chronologically. As a habitual paladin, I just wanted to congratulate you on this particularly delightful and enjoyable evil character you've put together.
Regarding the Gloves of the Pugilist that you looted from Gian the Fist, it's not actually a mod that adds them. They are in fact a part of the base game as one of the unique items that you can find. Gian always has them in his inventory. Loving the LP as always. Regards Josh
Really enjoying the series, hope you're having fun with it! On mod stuff, for the pipe mod they aren't added to merchants or loot, you need to craft them yourself at a forge with firewood. Just activate the misc item from your inventory if you have elves ear to fill it (making it a potion) then again to use it, the spell is for triggering the animation on NPCs. Also you might want The Curator's Companion and it's patches, just so anything you need for the museum will get flagged in the UI so you don't sell or destroy a whole bunch of it accidentally.
3:01 Got any rumors? 3:15 "Crime is at an all time high thanks to the same group that's crumbling from the inside." What? 9:59 Bethesda: lets you make any age (over 20ish) character. Also Bethesda: Always has PCs talk to you like you're freshly 18. 10:53 The Thieves Guild is so strange. They act like nobody knows who they are, but everyone seems to know who they are. 11:18 So... Maven wants him out of business. 15:01 Ah, percentages. the bane of gamers everywhere. 15:45 He didn't, but there's that weird thing in Skyrim where you can pickpocket, and just browse, and it's legal. He probably saw you afterwards, when he got up, while the Pickpocket action was up. 26:13 "I would use the blue thing" is a line I would use from a proper mage just for laughs. Like the character can't remember the names of anything, so it's just "the blue thing", but they're a real proficient mage. 31:57 3 gold coins and a dream? 41:27 I'm liking that mod more and more. 46:29 I was wondering how the injuries worked. Also, I check this menu first anytime something feels off. Which doesn't help with one mod's tendency to drain stamina for some reason. 49:52 For some reason, my brain says that's the Moon Reaver, or whatever it's called. The one Fathis already had... and was in Battlespire? Redguard? 53:29 Oh jeez, that level gap. 56:35 Praise the cheese!
Always liked the idea of a Spellknight using bound sword/bow or an assassin using bound dagger/bow, leave no ecvidence kinda thing. I would also say you can't install that mod to stop NPCs talking to you, after all what would Fathis grumble about then? Do like the idea of smithing jewelry to enchant, as you say very in character and its a great roleplay idea.
Is it just me, or does that sword look like Dawnfang/Duskfang from Shivering Isles? I remember that being a pretty good sword in Oblivion, wonder if it's any good in Skyrim. Actually, now that I think of it, you can also get Mehrunes' Razor in Skyrim, and Goldbrand, Hopesfire, and Trueflame through the creation kit. Rebuild the arsenal! Too bad I don't think the magicka regenerating shield or the Boots of the Apostle are available, but I think I read something about CC also adding the Boots of Blinding Speed.
if you want more immersive video you can install a mod called "Death Underrated" that lets you revive when defeated, but all the stuff remains in the place you have been defeated; in the description is explained better than how i did here
Having read through your mod list, and knowing Fathis' "morally dubious" inclinations... this wasn't quite what I expected after seeing the title, but it was awfully fun to watch regardless (I'm being a bit cryptic because I don't know what would, or wouldn't be a spoiler). The battle of cheese was very entertaining to watch, as well. :D
The reason why the guys in the front of the ratway didn't attack is because of cutting room floor, where now you can persuade them to let you pass (or bribe) if not then they will attack you. Also the reason they don't attack after you attack them is also because CRF makes them friendly towards you before you enter dialogue with them (for some reason).
Oh god the ghost quest. I died so many times. I think I was also way under levelled for it but boneheadedly determined to get through it 😂 loving this continuation of Fathis’s adventures so far!
I would recommend 'No to Nocturnal', Unless you already have it, so that Fathis isn't forced to Sell his soul to Nocturnal because of Bethesda's horrible quest design.
not to be that guy but gloves of the pugilast are base game actually and were one of the few ways in base game skyrim to get your unarmed damage up: before creation club added those gauntlets with the spikes on them
If you bring anything to the magician the guy the archaeologist guy he's taking up the do I have a ruins and stuff and can do some quest for him but he has the best spell books in The game I don't remember what his name is that you can do a question for love and you know kill all the beasts in the dead people in the ruins and then you know I've actually killed them allthough 21 more stuff but you'll buy anything duamo from you and he has the best Spell books
Fathis abusing the remnant's of his CHIM to slip a ring into someone's pocket is marvelously petty.
"honed metal" will let you commission out blacksmithing work to actual blacksmiths
The longstride spell combines extremely well with the perk in alteration that gives you free casting of low tier spells.
Also, dual casting makes you run ridiculously fast.

Unfortunate that the spell kinda sucks 😅
Ocato's recital was always my favorite, popping 3 spells for free everytime you start combat is so nice

I find all the CC spells to be way too powerful. Paralysis rune is the worst.

not finished with video yet - nooooo don't sell the gloves of the pugilist! that's a museum exhibit!!!1

I LOVE Longstride. Its the best way to travel. Especially Dual cast.
Especially once you have enough Alteration to take Intuitive Magic and make it free.
@@Electric999999 Exactly!
Failing the 90% pickpocket attempt. Classic. 🤣
you could try installing 'honed metal' for the equipment and enchanting problem

They're one of the few items which cause unarmed damage increases if I recall.
I'm aware of that. I was referring to the unique 3D model
@@SorcererDave Oh my apologies, I didn't even notice the changed graphics, that's really cool.

Given the problems the Thieves Guild is having it is rather fitting for the pickpocketing to fail
Thanks Dave for all you do...I'm really enjoying having this character back in a new setting
Personally, I feel like Riften is a lot more comparable to Balmora. It also has a canal and is largely impovrished
With ordination you can also make dwemer auto cannons which seems very fathis

Given Fathis had more gadgets than James Bond, having him make enchanted rings seems appropriate.

Enjoying the series Dave. Your escapades across the elder scrolls games are one of my favorite things to watch :)
Fantastic series so far, as always. I do find it hard to hear the NPC chatter over the music mix though.
Because the area the ghost went to is modded it has vanilla lighting, which is why it's all of a sudden so bright in there
18:30 Fathis Ulven spoke to Tythis Ulen. Is he related to you? Relative from Morrowind also coming to Skyrim?
You could try adding in predator vision into your modlist if you are looking for access to night vision.
Those 90% odds were XCOM levels of fuckery 😭 absolutely cursed
As a console player that has never really cared for or researched Skyrim mods on PC, I didn't know a lot of these mods were full blown quests

The reason you couldn't regenerate Magika was probably because of the Head Injury you got during the fight
