@Kouldor Bane Subjective. Cash shop is fine as long as it remains cosmetic. Eastern mmos does not only involve cosmetics. Actually, World Of Warcraft is bigger than FFXIV and with a in-game shop. In the east, it is seen as the norm to use your wallet to be competitive in your game(s) or at least there is no taboo about it. That is why these games clash with western consumers. That being said. If you're going to have a vast cash shop that is being very lucrative. Then I find it very nasty to on top of that having a subscription model
The last time I let myself get burned was with Archeage. It looked amazing with the buying property, farming, fishing, pirating and there was also dungeons and pvp. It seemed to have everything, but then it turned into yet another p2w shitfest. Not to mention there were massive problems with land acquisition where one person on my server ended up owning 70% of all the property, cause he was using some script to claim things as they spawned before anyone even had a chance to click.
This is very true, they sell you on pretty pictures and their games tend to be hollow. I really loved the fast pace combat of Tera, it reminded me of Vindictus, but holyshit that community was the absolute worst. It was like someone opened the door of second life and said come on in to the mutants and freaks. In all honesty who the fuck thought making a half loli/half animal girl race was a good idea?
After hearing "Genderlock" game is dead to me. Dont know why they make Genderlock games, (Mmo)Rpg's idea is to create ur very own charakter and ur own Backgroundstory/Biography... Im missing the very old days, where dev's know what stuff makes it a real good mmorpg.... Really hoping that Pantheon will bring back the real glory of this genre.
Sadly idea to create your own character died over 10 years ago. Now you have to make meta character if you want to do anything. You can only play what they want you to play. Besides, it's not like there's mmorpg out there where developers actually care about players. They'll just collect money, and when it stops, they'll make same thing but different. MMORPG with actual roleplay will just be a fantasy. (Yes i'm aware there are roleplaying focused mmorpgs, but honestly, they are neither popular enough for mmo, nor good enough to enjoy.)
@@Fevir I'm fine with more of the same as a placeholder for better. But it really depends on content structure. If it's more classical MMO gear progression ala Wotlk or Rift, then I'm cool with that. Especially if there is enough room for interesting builds and the tri-faction PvP is decent. But I'll probably pass if it's purely ilvl dependent, and has you constantly shuffling through gear tiers like Lost Ark.
@SomePerson Because if you're going to do the same, you have to do it better, and this doesn't do that. Besides some of the ones you listed like GW2 and ESO play very differently to a "traditional" theme park MMOs. Also feel the shooter analogy is weird because that market has tons of games with unique and things to set it apart from the others.
My take for unique MMO would be something that massive open world with breathtaking visual that has real time events that impact the world based on what the player action. Have a real legit story that is not just a text that you can skip, something like the Witcher class epic story, Dragon Age, or something similar. Equipment is based on drops from enemies or craft like Diablo or Borderlands with random stats. The camera angle is like The Witcher III/Destiny 2/Kingdom of Amalur or similar angle. Combat is fluid like those game I mentioned in the previous sentence and not just button mashing/click bashing, it involves dodge/parry/fast paced action. If you guys know a game like that, please let me know.
have you tried blade'n' soul? love this combat style the most, and yes, it's actually skill based, especially pvp where your armor doesn't count and you actually do have to be using the correct skills at times, including dodge, block etc.. I loved it back in the days i played it. there's also very nice pve content

I feel bad for the people who made this. It probably took a lot of time and effort but it will end up failing just like all the others. If they're going to introduce the gatcha system then they needed to go all in on that and shouldn't have even considered adding things like crafting unless it directly relates to gearing your units you get from the gatcha. Instead of these Astellia's acting as a temporary combat support, why not make them permanent and central to combat? Instead of having the holy trinity of combat classes why not have the class you choose affect what type of Astellia's you use? There's just so many different ways they could have done this in a way that's truly unique, but that involves taking a risk. But surely taking a risk on something completely different is better than giving people more of the same with a slight twist? Idk but it seems obvious to me looking from the outside in that this was never going to get a loyal and consistent fanbase.
Or - they know exactly how bad it is.. choose to focus on one feature to be a sellable feature and spend x.. just trying to earn 2x. Out of a lot of these MMORPGs .. this one just doesn't seem to be made for a long term playerbase.
lets wait and see, im gonna give it a try at least considering how the competition is doing, all they have to do, is basically not pissing off the customers
This Astelle system sounds cool and unique and all that, I bet it saves a lot of hassle and comfort for solo play, like being a dps able to pop up a healer pet and vice versa but I am pretty sure this game is going to fail because those Astelle pets only encourages solo play which I believe is the main plague in MMO's, and you could argue that there is going to be a lot of group content but that does not matter because there are plenty of MMO's that has had that and still fail, they need to find a way or a system that makes people feel a part of a community. Now you might be thinking : well how do you know that they haven't? you haven't even played the game yet? To that I say we just got our info from Fevir saying that the only thing that sets this MMO apart from other generic MMO's following a copy paste game (with their own little ''unique'' feature) is the Astelle system and don't start to think unrealistically that they might have something under their sleeves that is going to blow our minds. What I am trying to say is what this MMO is bringing to the table to set itself a part is a system that promotes solo play which means it is no different from most other generic ones. Are you looking for something to play 2~4 months? go for it. Are you looking for a MMO with longevity? I'd say don't count on it. Or maybe you think I'm completely wrong, maybe you think I'm full of garbage and a community is not that important in an MMO, maybe the true experience is getting end game gear then sit in a town afk not even bothering speaking with people in your guild, casually alt tabbing every 5 mins checking out some youtube cause you got nothing to do.That's the true experience right? I mean that's basically WoW, it's successful so it must be a good formula right.
ZAFFR0N I don't like the way this looks but I prefer solo in an mmo atmosphere. Either for world PvP or just adventuring. Too bad this looks poorly set up. Mechanically this would have been a God send.
Lalo rodriguez I haven't. I have dropped every mmo since wow:cataclysm. I loved wow vanilla before they forced raid play and arena PvP. I like having all the pve and PvP mixed. I want a game like The World from .hack, not the anime story or even graphics, but conceptually where both pve and PvP are viable and you can excell at the game doing either or both depending on current mood. I liked exploring new zones with a friend or 2. But eventually we'd get banned in wow as we figured out how to 3 man expert 5 man dungeons or 5 man 15 person raids. I'd just like to see an mmo that is balanced for all gameplay styles. I love seeing all the chat but still like playing alone. I love the adrinalyn rush as someone jumps me when I am not expecting it and then turning the tables on them.

You say underwhelming, but you say in the actual video things like "Sure they have problems, but they go A STEP FURTHER." ... yeah, with the typical BS that you get from Korean Games. The Korean MMO Market is basically this. Copy the template of every other Korean MMO, and then add just ONE unique thing to try and draw people in. In Tera the unique thing was the action combat, which was a bigger deal which is why it was more successful than most Eastern MMOs. In Riders of Icarus it was their 'tame anything' system before finding out that it's just a mount system, and they stole a lot of assets like sound clips from WoW. And now with this game it's that Astell system. Everything else is the same.
They're said "Astell is unique" but no one said its free.... Astells probably gonna be one of the things more expensive in the game... (upgrades, acessory, Astell gacha with rarity)

It seemed to have everything, but then it turned into yet another p2w shitfest. Not to mention there were massive problems with land acquisition where one person on my server ended up owning 70% of all the property, cause he was using some script to claim things as they spawned before anyone even had a chance to click.
At least Korean cashshops have decent shit to buy because most western ones have fugly garbage that isn't even worth spending a dime on lol
Really hoping that Pantheon will bring back the real glory of this genre.
its a korean game. but i agree no reason to gender lock especially when i dont like playing as a female all the time
Korean creators are all gender biased...
They’re aiming to remove Genderlock for the Western release.
@@Deanix They are aiming many things, but honestly, with mmos i don't believe it until i see it.
Just looks like more of the same.
Plays that way too.
Yeah, looks a lot different then what I was imagining. Boring copy+paste Korean MMO. SKIP
Im worried about Ashes of Creation, but I hope its everything they say it should be.
I haven't played TERA or Aion in years but for some reason this footage really reminded me of those games!
Thanks for the video man, you always put a lot of work into it and keep the community up to date. Have a great day!
2:58
so basically Eilodons from aurakingdom ?
That's what I thought! The look of Tera sprinkled with Eidolons from AK. Now I want to play AK. I hope they nipped all the bots.
Lost Ark waiting room
God I love that game. I've managed not to be banned yet and still play it almost daily since OBT came out.
@@Fevir I got banned the first day :(
How did you get ban? I play and stream lost ark with no problems.
@@gibry2009 Remember those accounts that were around $5 when the beta first went live? I'm assuming I didn't have ExitLag set up properly and as a result lost access to my account and on top of that the cheaper accounts (the $5) had to be re-verified
For sure Lost ark still hype for. Oof!
That asmodian thing made me remember one of the races in Aion. xD
Banzaai AION
You lost me at "grind old content to get stronger"
Well thanks for letting me be aware of this. I'm still waiting for MMO's to start doing class crafting as a standard like ArcheAge did it or better.
For what it's worth, I'd just like to point out that FFXI and FFXIV (soon) have Trusts, which are summonable NPCs that fill party roles. Astells don't even seem new in that regard
I mean, Rappelz Online had awesome pet systems for years now xD
I saw that. I'm really looking forward to jumping back into FFXIV come Shadowbringers
Well there's the Grand Companies Squadrons already in FFXIV.
@@PY5RA But that was its only redeeming quality, though I very much enjoyed the hunt (grind) for pet and cleric cards.
I appreciate this commentary and information so much. Thanks for being honest.
this looks like a reskin of Bless
yuuuuuup
so true lmao
And Idk why but to me this game reminds me of Forsaken World
xD
Kinda looked like reskin of tera to me
Feels like Aura kingdom 2.0
Another cookie cutter ncsoft style mmo. Its already doomed
That's what I thought about Bless.. and the hype cycle for that game was super surprising.
@@Fevir The more hyped it is , the worst will be. I don't rember when i last saw an overhyped game that didn't fail to deliver.
Mike G So I'm not the only one who thought of BnS when watching this then
It's really closer to WoW than ncsoft (lineage). It's WoW with korean assets and some imported mechanics.
@@Fevir well people still wants a "new" mmorpg, (even if it is one that came out years ago over seas) , in terms of gameplay well its meant to be a tribute/homage/i dont know what to the old mmorpgs with a little mini twist with the pets/cards that you get
The real problem is that no one has been able to deliver, Bless was hyped because well people thought there might be hope: deception was the only thing there
And finally in terms of the B2P and no P2W, there is a lot of skepticism, BDO promised that and i believe everyone remebers what happened, and bless exlpains itself
At the end only time will tell, the unknow publisher might do things right but well, having hope for another mmorpg is like xpecting EA to publish a good Star Wars game
i thought i was back in the early 2000's but it's 2019, this must be a Nightmare
"we are gonna address pay2win issue" meaning :- "we will put a price tag on an f2p game and then still keep the overbearing cash shop just like BDO. ohh yeah you don't have to buy anything from cash shop at all but we will make sure your gameplay experience is hampered enough to force you to spend money in cash shop. and of course there will be lots of idiotic fanboys who will tell you that you don't need anything from cash shop to play the game, they are right you don't need them to play the game but did we say you could enjoy the game without cash shop?? have fun guys!!!"
feel of it is like tera when i played it...almost 2 years ago.... so tera but tab-targeting enabled?
Not my thing, but I'm happy to see a Fevir video. :)
Oh look. It's another version of TERA with different types of Elin.

how about controler, its a dash and slash like BDO or Auto target like AION?
It just looks like a Tera / Blade and Soul mashup . Nothing interesting .
Also had an Aura Kingdom vibe in my opinion
I was thinking Final Fantasy online.
Blade and Soul is awesome. I just hope it comes to consoles soon. ( NCSoft said it a while ago )
kinda looks like Aion as well
Rebelraggamuffin I was thinking exactly the same lol
Great preview, thank you.
Out of a lot of these MMORPGs .. this one just doesn't seem to be made for a long term playerbase.
lets wait and see, im gonna give it a try at least
considering how the competition is doing, all they have to do, is basically not pissing off the customers
my friend is an En Masse partner, but when i mentioned Astellia, he already tried the Korean version and called it console Tera 2.0, on PC *
Mechanically this would have been a God send.
have you played rangers of oblivion on mobile? i wish i had your opinions because you just said some shit that got me thinking
One question: it is will be ONLY tab target? Or we can change at non-target?
Korean generic MMO and they're claiming it won't be pay to win?

Lmfao right! Ffxiv is King
Comparing a f2p to sub2p, how smart people
@@ZeroSilicium That doesn't matter at all : it's all about what people will have their mind focused on - if they want to release it and catch as many players as they can, then it would just be smarter to release the game in another time period. By the time people will start getting bored of ffxiv, or the latest wow raid and start playing other games, it will be months : will Astellia survive till then ?
@@enpi-me your forgetting about the players who are tired of ff xiv and want something different. They might not get the best turn out from the start but as with any mmo that is released there will always be bugs such as translation issues and performance issues. Let me guess, another Cashshop Korean MMO with loli Neko girls.
Edit: So how much did they pay you for this early review?
The Astell system isn't even unique. Eidolons from Aura Kingdom.
They're said "Astell is unique" but no one said its free....
Astells probably gonna be one of the things more expensive in the game... (upgrades, acessory, Astell gacha with rarity)
You do realise that he was insinuating that this game IS bless online but redskined right? I mean, game coming from no where at pax, by an unknown developer that has no games to its name, suddenly making a multi million dollar cost mmorpg. . . Do you have to watch the video again to pick up on this? yes, I think you do. Please pay closer attention to what you're watching before vomiting stupid shit as a comment, Jesus.
Is it free to play or do you buy it and then use a subscription like PlayStation plus or how World of Warcraft works?
Looks very Asian driven... with p2w store..
might as well keep playing gw2
This WoW Addon is Sick !! :O
would still pick gw2 / black dessert over this one.
graphics wise it doesnt seem bad and I see a few skill / aoe notifications similar to ff xiv and not to mention the astels look like they're from league of legends. Since the game is buy to play, no mention of monthly sub was made so I can only assume that after the initial purchase of the game, the servers will be paid for by those who use the cash shop.
Oh look, another generic korean Revelation/Bless/Tera/Whatever mmo... this minion/card thing will be monetized, I'm quite sure of it. Great video but this game will be meh.
The card, costumes for the card, upgrades for the card... More slots for cards...
There's a lot of ways to make this a shit storm (live every korean mmo)

Another game with a cash shop that will "address Pay to Win mechanics", and another hard pass from me. There hasn't been a SINGLE ONE where a cash shop with previous Pay to Win mechanics hasn't had XP & other types of boosts in it. No thanks, I would prefer paying a monthly subscribtion of 15 bucks than having to pay 50 bucks a month to keep all the boosts actives just to not feel like I'm progressing like a snail instead of what I could be progressing at if only I took mommy's credit card to spend lots & lots of money for a "Free" game.
I'll try to give a new publisher the benefit of the doubt - but after having played through their 'end game' I just don't know if they can tweak it in a way that's fair but also maintain the grind/playtime people want

"Most games have level caps you can reach within a day of playing" well I wonder which games are those ? Aside from very small expansions I don't see any game where you are max level the same game unless you've played the beta and know exactly what to do and you are rushing, but even then, it's for a small number of expansions, never full new games. But now that I think about it, I actually never even said that xp boosts were pay to win ? Are you that much of a moron that you can't even read ? The game looks... interesting and potentially fun for a while. However it doesn't look like it has staying power and that's important for an MMORPG. I would like to try it but I'll wait and see what the reviews say and perhaps if they'll eventually put the game up for sale on Steam.
MMORPG is dying as the time goes by, and when the new ones came out, people spit onto it, yea, sounds about right.
well proper mmorpgs need tons of time and a viable team to update/manage it. so ye its no suprise so many are just ...''reskins im some way'' though i dont think mmorpgs die out if a proper company puts some risk in it again trying to not be just a ''reskin'' and dedicate alot of time in producing a proper one^^
for now though we just can hope and stick with the older good mmorpgs^^
you could point out, that majority of the developers of this game, also worked on the base game of Tera, thus the major similarities of a beta version of Tera.

Tab-targeting makes this much worse than TERA for me, since I loved that action combat.
I think you're confused... this game is already out and it's called TERA. Where'd you get Astellia from?
Why waste money, resources, labor and time copying a thousand failed projects that nobody plays anymore? This looks just like the other forgettable game I played a couple of years ago that may or may not be cancelled, but I don't care enough to bother finding out for sure.
