We've got a foreman, rancher, and recon. I have to tell you that recon always surprises me how capable it is. I put a round of ITP swamp lite tires on it and they don't tear up our yard yet they give great traction in mud and on the trails. Last summer my sisters quad had problems just before a family trip in wisconsin and I brought the recon for her. We ended up in heavy mud down in a wooded trail and that 2wd recon made it right through. Its light and with a little side to side rocking she made it time and time again. Its our mule around our 5 acre property. We pull a 5x8 trailer picking up limbs after storms, my wife uses it to pull a trailer with her weed eater and fuel and gardening supplies, our daughter and nephews ride it a lot as well. I enjoy all our four wheelers but there is just something great about how simple and no headaches that "little" recon is.

I am thinking about getting a recon, would you recommend?

The Recons are great machines, it really depends on what kind of riding you plan to do. In most situations the Recon does great and will keep up with any other machine. Sometimes you do miss the 4wd capability and if you are riding over rough terrain for long periods of time they can make you a little sore.

I will say as someone that owns a Recon and Rancher 420 that I ride the Recon far more. The Rancher is a big heavy tank good for straight lines the Recon handles around corners like a sport quad, is fast enough for me and easier to get on and off (not so tall) so easier to do work with mounting and dismounting often. Can pull nearly as much as a Rancher too when not overloaded according to Honda it’s like 500 vs 700lbs towing. Rancher weighs nearly 600lbs and Recon ~420lbs

Fun video :) I'm thinking about surprising my woman with a Honda Recon, which is what led me here. Thanks for bringing us along on the ride!

The Recon is a fun machine and easy to operate, I’m sure she will like it. Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching!

Probably a shift cable, that or a lubrication issue.
