When this came out in the summer of '77 People listened to their radios without headphones and I remember being at the beach tuned into the same radio station playing this song so as I walked along you could hear just slightly and all the while I walked it was like one long continuous play on all those tiny radios...It was Magical....70s BEST!!!

I studied his music, i lived his words and i got lifted from his songs.
I cried, laughed and thought to them, i reflected myself upon them.
His music changed my life and many others, if only todays people would recognize the true value of this music instead of seeing the hype and hypocritcal mass production fan items.
Bob marley is more then the face on a grinder you bought in a coffeeshop, in times of a society lead by money wolves that heard the sheep with its freedom reducing politics, you pay the price in euros, dollars, roebels, yens, get rid of that tought, get rid of the need to own a big house, a big car, a big capitalistic dream, get rid of that it reduces your life quality, and makes you stop to dream about the earth and life as a giving. Get what you must have, but don't let it be your only desire. Life is worth much more then gold. Don't let them change you, or even rearange you.

I'm gonna be honest with everyone here. I didn't grow up on Marley's music. I knew of him, and knew that he was a wonderful writer who leaves a trace of his soul in all his works but that's all there was to it as far as I was concerned. I only started listening to his music in maybe the past 5 years? But I will forever be thankful for this song. Now, like I said, I didn't grow up to his music. I was born in the Philippines in the 90's, and I first heard of Wait in Vain through some covers that gained nationwide popularity done by some of our bands, most notably MYMP and Bamboo. And I got to say, I absolutely adored Bamboo's version. It was a soulful jazz version and it really spoke to me when I was a teenager. So now, I'm here to show my great appreciation for Bob for making this song and to finally hear the original (which as I expected would be amazingly heartfelt and emotional). Thank you, Bob. Your music is a blessing.

I was 11 years old when dad brought the album Exodus home in 1978. Id help him set up his portable discos back then and he trusted me with records. When I spun the album it blew me away. And this song hooked me from the moment I heard it. And Im still listening, 41 years later. Legends never die......
