6:35 main difference : xlookup only selects array(column), not the entire table: look up array & return array 8:24 allows error handling function. Instead of NA, customise return value.
Stumbled onto this video while searching for a different issue in my sheet using VLOOKUP. Will be switching that to XLOOKUP. Thanks for a great tutorial. Now I will go see if I can find a video on my actual question 😂
Thank. I think that the previous video about index match is better cause it could cover the oldest versions of spreadsheet. But xlookup is a great tool too.
Hi. Your videos are very useful, easy to understand because of comparing all the functions immediately in the same sheet. Bring us more videos, pls 😉 Anyway, i have a question. What is the difference between XLOOKUP and INDEX MATCH? Thank you
Thank you for all your videos. You are a great trainer. Please how can I Compare two lists A and B in different workbooks? List A is the standard. If there are differences in List B, we copy the correct value from A to list B.
Great videos. Is there a way for Excel to look up and return one result from more than two criteria? For example there are four sales staff, they have monthly commissions and various KPIs, if I put their name say John Smith in one cell, then July in another cell and finally revenue in another cell, can XLookup etc. be used to return the commission earned from various tables (each sales person has a table on he same spreadsheet)?
xlookup can't easily return blank instead of zero, if you include empty lines? Hence not usable on unitiated values, or your form is going to be full of zeros.
I was working on this recently. Thought I might try xlookup. But vlookup works on arrays of inputs and outputs. Seemed like xlookup didn't. What is your experience please?
Thanks for the explanation. I'm using XLOOKUP for a delivery date columm and they are returning in number format. If I format to date, whenever I have a cell without a date, it returns as the 00/01/1900 since is empty. How can I fix it? Because its working fine for the ones that match and have a date, but when I have a match and an empty date, it's getting frustrating. Tks in advance.
Unfortunately you need to be using a newer version of Excel including the online version. Otherwise you will need to continue to use VLOOKUP or INDEX MATCH.
I think XLookup is best to use. Because we need to put only one formula of XLookup and we get the right value. In other case (Index match) we need to combine 2 formula and combine more data. 😅 XLookup is best💯
So in other words Vlookup needs from you the number of column from which it will return a value, but in Xlookup you will exactly write down which column it will be.
Good instruction. Very easy to follow. Thanks dude!

Thanks for the assistance for others.

You style of explanation is really comprehensive, Kudos :)

I find your video is very easy to understand and follow. Can you walk though examples when to put $ in vlookup and xlookup?
All thumbs up for another great tutorial. Already subscribed. Thanks a lot for your valuable time & educating us

Love your accent! So clearly to hear
thanks again, sound XLOOKUP is more easier than INDEX Match?
Great, Thanks!
it would be so nice if you put the practice Sheet File in the description for download
I think its good idea and I agree with you
can you do a video on Spill errors, I keep getting one saying spill range too big.

just add a & "" at the end of the formula
Wouldnt adding a "$" in front of each column solve the "add a column" problem; it is now anchored on that column no matter how many columns are added?
Thanks for information
Excellent content! Thank you
Is this any different form just using an index match, asides from the built in error handling?
Similar results to index match. I’ve pretty much switched 100% to xlookup these days.
Nice, super easy! Thank you!
Glad it helped!
Good instruction. Very easy to follow. But, to make it perfect, i suggest you to put sampel in description.
Thank you, I will
Very Good thank you very much.
Is there a a way in excel to make a simple Invoicing and record keep of the client base.
Thank you
Franco
Yes you should be able to track invoicing and your clients in Excel. I recommend searching for that on google or youtube.
So is there any advantage in using INDEX MATCH rather than XLOOKUP?
I think the best advantage is that XLOOKUP isn't available in older versions of Excel and the current version of Google Sheets.
@@ExcelLevelUp Good point. Not everyone has the latest version I guess. Thanks for getting back to me.
I was working on this recently. Thought I might try xlookup. But vlookup works on arrays of inputs and outputs. Seemed like xlookup didn't. What is your experience please?
Thank you very much brother!!
Keep it up!!
Always!
Can this be used in two separate excel spreadsheet?
Thanks for the explanation. I'm using XLOOKUP for a delivery date columm and they are returning in number format. Very helpful!
And furthermore in XLOOKUP it is not required to have the lookup-array in the first column.
Good information but xlookup is not available in MS office 2019... How will I get Xlookup for Ms Excel 2019?
Unfortunately you need to be using a newer version of Excel including the online version. Otherwise you will need to continue to use VLOOKUP or INDEX MATCH.
@@ExcelLevelUp ok brother... Thank you 🙏
how to us XLOOKUP with multiple sheets
Which one best if compared with index/match?
I’ve only recently started using XLOOKUP but I find it easier to use than INDEX/MATCH.
I think XLookup is best to use. Because we need to put only one formula of XLookup and we get the right value. In other case (Index match) we need to combine 2 formula and combine more data. 😅
XLookup is best💯
not every user has the 365 so while xlookup is better you have to use what you have
Thank you
OMG sir. You are the best. Thanks so much. Subd
Happy to help

Bro you are amazing
Thank you so much 😀
