I used this info and shot my best score this year.....chipping this way left me close every time. Even chipped on in. I'll be paying lose attention to your videos.
    Thank you!

Awesome to hear!! I do a few instructional videos from time to time but mostly my intention is helping the viewers learn to score better with what they already have. There are a zillion instructors "out there" teaching you how to swing your club, but how many are there teaching you how to play golf? So this video was partly technique, and partly strategy....I think if you have a good strategy, the shots are easier to execute.

@GeezerTony I learn with all your videos. How to think is huge.

I was recently advised to slightly close the club face on a bump and run shot ... Was wondering if you also do that or have a square face?

Everything I did in this video was with a square face. Closing the clubface delofts the club so why not just take a lower lofted club instead? I want to keep everything as simple as possible and closing the face creates another compensation that you would now need to adjust your aim to the right to make up for the face looking left. I believe if one is correctly using the "swing" technique I demonstrated, (not using the wrists and hands), there is no need to close the clubface.

On your basic chip shot is your club face square, or slightly open? Are you always using the bounce?

Most of the time it is square. I only open it a bit to use the bounce when the grain is trying to grab the clubhead...which I determine by making a couple of useful practice swings.

    Great Demonstration Geezer!
No problem with the audio. once the plane vacated the area. I wish the golf courses near me allowed chipping onto a practice green. Unfortunately most don’t because they are used for putting and everyone wants to try the flop shots instead of the Geezer Roll demonstrated here.

Thanks! It wasn't the practice green...it was a nursery green 350 yards down at the end of the range. (they do allow chipping on the practice green though). Very isolated there and there is also a tee there (where I did a couple of driver videos)...away from everyone.
