Piers Morgan grilled Nigel Farage on BBC Question Time over whether Reform would let migrants drown in the Channel.
In April, deputy leader of the party, Ben Habib, told Talk’s Julia Hartley-Brewer he would “absolutely” let migrants drown on their way to the UK.
Frederick tells Peter that Labour and the Tories “prefer their international relationships over addressing the migration crisis”.

A. You can't stop people jumping into the water, but if you refuse entry into UK territorial waters they jump into French waters. The concept isn't that difficult to comprehend.
B. The Conservative policy , like Labour's policy , is not to stop the boats crossing into UK territorial waters. They both want to safely facilitate them entering UK territory [land].
C. Under UK law a coroner can make some rulings. One is ' death by misadventure ' meaning "a death that is primarily attributed to an accident that occurred due to a risk that was taken voluntarily". We are not responsible for people knowingly take a risk and losing their life as a result.
Reforms policy is to copy best practice from the Australian Operation Sovereign Borders and is the only proven way to stop the boats and end the smuggling gangs business on both sides of the English channel.
You can't return the boats to France, you need their agreement and you won't get that!!

Australian policy was mostly fake. First, Australian never withdrew from the Refugee Convention. Yes, boat people were sent to offshore detention at great cost to the taxpayer, but several years later brought to Australia and 'medical treatment' and then released into something called 'community detention'. Almost no-one was deported. Then Albanese Govt allowed them to stay permanently. Australia continued to grant visas to Iranians despite knowing for decades that they cannot be deported. We don't recognize Taliban so Afghans also cannot be deported. And Syrians. In 2015 New York Times published article 'Australia's brutal treatment of migrants'. Two days later PM Tony Abbott announced that Aus will be accepting 12,000 Syrians.

It didn't need to withdraw from it. The 1951 convention only places an obligation on the signature when the 'individual' has entered its territory and then asks for asylum. It is EU Asylum law that extends asylum obligations into its member states territorial waters.
EU Directive 2013/32/EU Chapter named 'Scope' that unilaterally redefines the word 'territory' to include member states territorial waters which then gives a perverse interpretation of the 1951 conventions use of the word 'territory'.

Seems obvious to me anyone found trying to cross the channel should be returned to France. They can be saved if in danger or forced back if they are not allowed to be entering our country. If I were in charge our Navy would be doing this and any money wasted on Ukraine would be spent here do what should be done.

The arrival of small boats on UK shores in large numbers is a recent phenomenon. While there have been reports of people attempting this route for at least twenty years, it wasn't until 2018 that significant numbers started arriving . It probably took one to two years for the criminal gangs to build their illegal business model, organising routes, obtaining meterals and resources, so to find the cause of this issue we need to look back to 2016 find a significant event that occured and fix it. Simple!
