Nice hunt Bill, I liked that blue stone that you found with the chain. The manticore seems to work pretty well I thought. I hope that seal was okay, it looked like it couldn't move. Hey Christine! I'm glad I got to see you at the end of the video. I thought Bill was flying solo for whole video. That sock with something in it was really weird. I liked the blue van, the yellow truck and the VW race car. Take care guys. See you in the next video.

Nice haul there. We’ve had our share of lethargic sea lions last year at Silverstrand. The maintenance guys and lifeguards are very proactive and make sure that yellow police tape is set up around the animal, and yes, people here will walk right up to them just to get a selfie. I use my fanny pack type thing for metals but also loop around my belt a cloth grocery bag for surface trash, toys and larger metal finds like cans for it. It does get a little cumbersome but do get quite a bit of trash off the beach as I’m hunting for that allusive treasure.
Poor seals... must be in the water. There are tons of trash cans around but I really should carry a small bag for trash. That would be much better...thanks

nice hunt, sorry i caught so late....the big circular piece looks like the side of a fishing reel.. My Abu Garcia looks like it anyway, and clamp, is spine of the reel.. nice little Sapphire jewel also...congrats...

You sure dug a lot of targets at Seal Bch, Bill, with your manticore….It looked like you were using a fairly low sensitivity too (I saw your display show 11 and 16 sens levels a couple times). Wonder how bad our local weather is going to get? Forecasters are calling it a very cold, wet, blustery storm….a once in a lifetime event for Los Angeles area…..😯 Saturday looks to be a washout too…..heavy snow in mountains down to the foothills….we may even see a few snow flakes local ❄️.

Nice finds Bill!. Those inner scales look like either a straight razor but I don't know that I've seen one with scale liners or maybe an old folder pocket knife...looks a similar shape to an old camillus I've got. Dennis

All metals recycle. I sort all my metals into 5 gallon buckets.
When near full, I add 3 oz dish soap and 3/4 bucket of near boiling water.
After a couple of days, I stir the mix with a drill mounted paint mixer attachment.
Helps offset expenses of hobby.

Good to see you wearing a hat but I see you are working on giving the ocean another carrot 🥕 if not careful might want to get that layered. And I think you are right about knife parts, look like the side plates and maybe locking mechanism for the blade . The sad thing is that the blade might still be out there, maybe next time if iron is on. Round plate with holes probably off fishing reel and clamp is also for holding reel to rod with hardware it has cut outs for heads of bolts similar to carriage bolts but . Good hunt keep on swinging and keep it fun. Ho yeh what did you throw back down that was in sock? Probably should have gone in garage it was already in hand at that point why throw it down?
Thanks for the info... I totally forgot to bring the lanyard but it is def a must. Thanks for all the info and yes that black thing could have been a handle to a rod or umbrella. It did go into the trash along with all the other trips I made but had to put away my stuff first. If it is practical trash we find is taken off the beach.

The VDI numbers are fairly jumpy on my Simplex. Minelab seems a lot more stable, would you say that's the case?

Have you worked the water yet or has it been to cold if yes are you having problems in the water with the Manticore falsing and losing signal?
It is a little cold and waves here are hard to stand in.... better to hit the surf on low tides. Do you think it is the salt water or just water in general?

Not sure... there were no hooks on the last one I found either? Only thing that makes sense is it was dropped before set up but you would think there would be some treble hooks present
