Hey John. For the floor of your laser room, have you considered your options for leveling it out? Having to level every piece of furniture and equipment you bring in there will be a huge hassle. You have two options: permanent and non-permanent. The permanent solution is easier. Set a dam and then pour out self-leveling floor compound (high PSI cement). You might have to do two runs depending on the recommended max thickness. You can preserve the floor drain as a squeegee mop sump, or simply cap it and cover it over. This is less work and a good permanent solution, as long as you prep the existing floor right. The non-permanent is a wood floor. Use pressure treated joists with the uncut edge down, and a waterproof tape layer. Rough cut the profiles leaving some excess on the top edge. Once they're all blocked in, bring to final level surface with an electric planer then cap with subfloor OSB. You can retain access to the floor drain with a hatch if desired. More work but not permanent. Good luck, looking forward to the next one!
with your floor that's not level it is worth it to fix it right now , I have a shop with a very uneven floor and I wish years ago I would have had it removed and done right, it has caused me a number of problems over the years . even if you and your dad make a wood deck type floor you know it would be level or there are self leveling concreate products that have gotten better over the years.
Whenever i paint a workspace i use white to brighten the place up so I can see to work. What is the reasoning for the flat black walls & ceiling? Why strain your eyes?
Porter Cable ! Nice work. I'm real biased to Porter Cable corded tools. I make sure to hide all the others when I film a video. Great job on all the work!
@@GrafsGarage3 Stay warm.....I'm sure you'll be right at home in no time....freezing days....nights colder than a witches' broom stick. ...No wonder you build cool stuff.....can't play outside. Have a great week ahead.
It's more expensive to replace the whole door, and roll-up doors generally don't have insulation. In New England it gets cold in the winter, and he doesn't want to be spending an arm and a leg heating a garage that radiates heat out of an uninsulated door. It would be cheaper to re-route the rails higher, but it's simple enough to just use a side-mounted opener.
Great progress, I can see how many hours are going in to this, will you paint/epoxy/seal the floor before filling the room? How will you get that big laser machine into the room?
Very interested to see how the laser machine makes it into that room. Hope you can get the floor leveled or find enough coasters to shove under every leg. Great video!
Since you put asphalt insted of a ramp. Your likely to need drainage outside. With that slope, water needs an escape. If not, spring and fall when temperatures goes up and down below freezing 🥶. I'm planning to this on my garage next weekend as Sweden is getting cooler.
I had a single car garage for about 8 years I built a lot of cars out of it and I always kept it super clean bc I didn’t have room for a mess and it was easy to heat . You’ll have a nice shop there have you thought of building a subfloor in the laser room to level everything up?
Much smaller space unfortunately but you're able to make it work for your needs. Need a hangout day for the locals ;-) once the its set-up finally. More work to come though for the cut room or dirty room as i believe you said in a previous episode.
SO GOOD THAT YOU ALL CAUGHT THAT BAIRE WIRE DUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your dad is a proper geezer. True G
As I sit here in Perth Western Australia on a beautiful 24 deg (C) day I am again enjoying your update videos. Thanks for your work John (and Dad).

I really appreciate your comment and advice, man! Thank you!
I personally love garage builds just as much as automotive builds. Show everything! 🍻
Great work. Congratulations 🎉
turn it into a podcast setup, like alex and their caravan

My brother just painted his garage black for his 968 and 993. Looks cool but I think he needs more light
level you say the earth is flat and level , water always finds it level
I love that your Dad will be in more videos now. Also that he is helping bring your dream alive!
Me too!

@@Dancing_Alone_wRentals Hey appreciate that my man! You too!
HAHAHAHAHAHA FROM WHAT I REMEMBER DAD IS BOB V WASN'T LIKE TO MUCH BY NORM, I GREW UP WATHING THIS OLD HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!
How are you going to get your laser machine in that room now !
Next episode!!
Why did you choose black for the paint?
Jeeesus good thing you guys put that man door in there and found that wire 😅 Also the laser room turned out so good!
How crazy!! And thanks man!
Lucky catch on that powerline. Great video.
Such a wild transformation. Keep it up!! Excited how this has really changed!!
Welcome back to NH dude!
I didn’t think the laser machine was narrow enough to get through the doorway ?????
Looks great is what a change
The shop is really shaping up man! The laser room is awesome but the lineup of toolboxes worked great too!
Thanks Alex!
Really nice!!! Greetings from Stockholm, Sweden
Looking Good! Why the Black Paint, looks good but wouldn't You want it Brighter in there?
You're lucky to have a cool & helpful Dad around you etc.
Why paint it all black?
Makes it such a dark space. If you painted the ceiling white it would make a massive difference.
Have you tripped on the floor yet?
Not yet! Haha
Is it not possible to have a roll up garage door, that way theres no rails in the way

Dude the place is coming out great man! I’d paint the floor in the black room though. Do a gray color or something.
I have confidence you'll come up with something unique to level out the stuff in the laser room :D. Also got my shirts and keychain, quality stuff!
Must be so much fun to tackle a project like this with your father!
It is!
Great progress, I can see how many hours are going in to this, will you paint/epoxy/seal the floor before filling the room? How will you get that big laser machine into the room?
Nice shop
Thank you!
I would love to have that much work space
I call that tool ''The Screamer'' for obvious reasons.
What a blessing. I would thank God everyday for your dad. Most people dont have this experience with thr family. Nice job king👑👑

Tomorrow’s episode!
Glad to see do see more work on the shop space in this episode. Even if it is just on the room the laser machine goes in 👍🏻

Self leveling concrete for the drain angle
Comment for support.
Wireless (3)outlet and (2) switches on Amazon… use this for my under 4 post lift lights….
I feel the unpacking is the worst part, trying to figure out where everything is going to then go
Dude the absolute worst!
Also paint the concrete floor? Not much work and saves dust? Nice work! 🏆⚡️
WHAT DID YOUR DAD DO FOR A LIVING IF DONT MIND ME ASKING
As a guy who lost his dad early, make the most of them without wearing them out, they are great to have around.
You should add a large window to that outside wall to the right of your desk and put your desk under it.
I would glue a white laminate to the roof light bounce off it better just a thought
Sorry post3d before you did the other lights, look nice keep up the nice progress
This one doesn't have a subtitle option, what a shame! 👊🇧🇷
Really?! I wonder why??
@ No problem bro! Congratulations on the new space, it's amazing! You deserve it! 👊🙏
Should have been so much better with shiplap panel and a sliding barn door 😂
Looks like the person who pulled that wire had to pull a little harder and did not realize he skinned the wire.
Glade to see your finally up here if you would like some extra help im here man literally right next to you hit me up im down
