It wasn't them power bombing each other. Nash botched a power bomb on Big Show when he was The Giant at Souled Out dropping him on his neck. WCW then claimed in the storyline that Nash had purposely almost broken The Giants neck and they banned the jackknife. Nash then proceeded to use it anyway with Hollywood Hogan paying for his fines and Nash getting arrested on screen everytime he jacknifed someone. He would get escorted out in cuffs yelling "Attica". This led to their eventual rematch based on the story.

Big nostalgia with this one. It was my first ever N64 game, Christmas '97. I put so much time into this game. Black Belt was always my favorite and I had no idea he was supposed to be Taka Michinoku, who I also loved as a kid lol
I remember being able to choose alternate costume colors in the character select screen, I don't remember how. And I think more characters would unlock in other weight divisions. My favorite guy was Ultimate Dragon. I believe Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero were in the game too. Also, I think the rules didn't allow it in story mode, but you could reach into the barricades and grab a weapon from the audience, usually just a chair or a bat. Fun game, good memories.
You use C-Left and C-Right to choose alternate attires and the only wrestler he missed was Black Widow, which is in the WWW Cruiserweight Title league.
Glacier isn't based on anyone, Glacier was a real wrestler and P.E. coach at my high school when I was in elementary school. He did have an entrance like Sub-Zero though.
Glacier was an actual real wrestler in WCW back in the day. He was kind of a Sub Zero knock-off. Also, even though wrestling does sort of have divisions for weight, it isn't to unusual to see different classes fighting each other, depending on what belt they were shooting for, or who was popular at the time. When I first started wrestling back in the early 90s, my first ever match was against a Luchador guy named El Diablo, he was about 5'5 and 160lbs, I was 6'1 250lbs. The popularity, almost always will decided who fights who, no matter the weight. Loved your video my friend, loved this game too.
Yep, if you watched wrestling around that time, Kevin Nash had a title match against the cruiserweight Rey Mysterio Jr. He unmasked Rey, and Rey wrestled without a mask for a good while.
The character creator for this was amazing for the time. I remember spending hours making ridiculous characters with my friends and running leagues lol
this didn't have a character creator, but the sequel (WCW vs NWO: Revenge) had a character editor. you didn't get a character creator until that game's sequel and switch to WWF - WWF Wrestlemania 2000. then that game's sequel, and best in the series (or all wrestling games?), WWF No Mercy, had an even better character creator. so it was probably 1 of those 3 games you're thinking of. all of them are good. even this bare bones game.
This game was way better than WWF Warzone and I was a WWF fan. WCW followed up with Revenge which was even better. WWF finally caught fire when AKI and THQ took over.
