Thank you very much for the reaction. I have been searching for month to find this video with English subs but finally gave up a few weeks ago so I am so thrilled to find it here.
Tanweiwei is my faaaaavourite Chinese singer. Her style changes a lot and she is a real performer! I love the singer who can express emotion on the stage. I want to recommend one song she sang on the Singer stage in the final episode, which means it is a truly live performance. I’m not sure if you will like it, but I think this one is very different from her other performances. Her other performances usually like mixing traditional Mongolian or Zang music with rock or pop or jazz. This performance has no Mongolian or Zang music, it is completely psychedelic with sexual implication(but not strange nor disgusting, just like a purple dream). The song name is The love of seabird and fish (if translated to English directly). The lyric is just like a conversation between the bird(the male singer) and the fish(the female singer). In the lyrics, it describe the sea surface as a big shaking bed. The sea water wets the bird feathers. The fish and the bird cannot be together but they tried in their ways. Tanweiwei’s style in this performance is totally different from what you have seen in other two. The male singer singing with her is 崔健(Cuijian), a very famous rock singer in China. He create lots of famous songs, including this song(seabird and fish) and fake monk(Hua chenyu played the piano and sang it, I remember you have watched it.) Still uncertain if it is the style you like, maybe you can have a try : ) The link is shown below. th-cam.com/video/Uk29LkrYFZA/w-d-xo.html
Tan Weiwei is a very versatile singer, particularly shines in rock and folk music. The vibrating part you mentioned is a technique in traditional Tibetan singing, which she studied at Sichuan Conservatory of Music. She sang many great songs in Masked Singer and I Am A Singer shows. Looking forward to more reactions of Tan Weiwei from you.
